This here cemented my respect for Fujitora. He remembered when Smoker told him how the WG covered up the Alabasta incident with Crocodile by making it seem like Smoker alone took him down. However, Fujitora made sure they don't try to pull that crap here and even apologized for everything that has happened and not doing anything about it till now. I was glad that when one honorable admiral stepped down, an even more noble one took his place
I remember thinking at the time that Fujitora was just a cool dude with actual morals he was prepared to act on, but on reflection while I still believe that, he very deliberately leveraged this moment to create the momentum for the abolition of the Warlord system at the Reverie. Man wanted it gone and got the ball rolling right here.

You know it's funny. I've been using one piece as a way culturally to show my son how a man should react to certain situations and in terms of positive masculinity and I also cover that with other things like the last airbender. Am I the only one who cried in this scene???? Finally... FINALLY the marines apologized! Deep inside me I just want at least an apology of their cover ups and an acknowledgement of what the real problem was and who were the actual heroes. It's like all the previous arcs, and all the sufferings of the people, and all the discredit to the strawhats got me all emotional when I saw that Fujitora apologized 😭😭😭😭
