After watching a couple times, I think the audience kept yelling Jessica's name as a sort of request to the girls. Like asking "where is she, is she okay?" Because usually the girls explain why one or two of them are missing, if they're sick or out doing an acting gig. But the girls kept being quiet about it, making the audience anxious and keep asking "Jessica?" They didn't know why she wasn't there, and the girls were crying despite singing mostly happy songs- the girls couldn't even cover most of Jessica's parts which further shows something last minute happened. When they would cover one of her parts, they would end up crying again. If I were in the audience that day, I'd be worried- then to leave after the performance to find out that SNSD would no longer be 9. I'm sure the girls wanted to make up an excuse, say "oh Sica is just sick! Sorry if we fumble with her parts" but they'd be lying, and we know they don't like to deceive their sone. They wanted the audience to stop chanting her name, but couldn't even bring themselves to talk about it. We don't know what happened that day, if she was kicked out by SM, the girls, or both- or if she took it upon herself to leave. The whole situation is extremely sketchy, SM and Jessica both have different stories that have changed a little each time we read them. Despite what went down, it took a toll on the girls and on Jessica. Sica's gotten the confidence to finally start talking about her debut days, the times she liked about SNSD, when SNSD was stressful- she's finally gotten that courage back. But SNSD? Either they still can't make themselves talk about it as freely, or SM is wanting them to stay quiet. Keep supporting them both, stay a Sone and stay a Golden Star. Let them talk about it when they're comfortable.
MermaidSyno Jessica and SM’s relation was totally fine at that time, they supported her brand and she renewed her contract with them in August, and it lasted till August 2015 (if they had a problem with her why would they want to keep her in the company?) Of course there was something deeper that happened before and on 930 that we don’t know. For die hard fans it must be difficult to accept it, but I do think the girls (or the majority of them) had something to do with her departure and SM just had to decide what to do in the last minute. It may be just a theory but after following them for a couple years and researching deep into this matter I kinda believe in it. Anyways, I hope the truth comes out one day.

Chinese Sone knew Jessica had been kicked out of the group on the 28th. It hit the Chinese Sone forums from insiders preparing for this show. So Chinese Sone knew. So those that chanted Jesssica's name at various times during the fanmeet were not doing it because they wondered what happened to Jessica. They did it because they knew what had happened to Jessica and they wanted OT8 to say something about it.
Seriously 😞, i get it that something happened but why not talk about it even a little bit? We as fans pour our hearts out for them emotionally, at least we deserve a little explonation from the girls side even for just a min cause its so unfair even after all these years some fans are still heartbroken and confused! Also they (SM) would not kick Jessica out when she was the most talented member and one of the most popular. I think it was just miscommunication with some 3rd parties behind the scenes there. I rely on what Jessica told on her book. SM don't care what you do as long you give them money (which Jessica already talked the royalties of her Store with SM). Every member had individual, sub unit activities except Jessica. When she announced she was having her store every member and SM approved it beforehand. But when the time of the launch came SOME of them or maybe 1 decided that they didnt want her to have that, also there was reports of SOOYOUNG'S PARENTS (a wealthy and known family) went to SM to protest about it, which was too late cause Jess could've got sued if she pulled out. There was multiple reports of them having like rounds of votings and they went through like 2 or 3 rounds until the people who supported Jessica compromised and decided to let her known she wasnt part of SNSD. This is known in SM cause when EXO's Chen had a wife and a baby, they talked about how THEY (the members) decided if they wanted him in EXO or if it would be better for him to leave, which they decided to support him as real best friends and let him stay in EXO. 3 years ago. I just started to be a sone then you will see a news knowing Jessica is leaving. its not my first time seeing this video but still new for me. if I could go back time. I always missed her. in every song I play. its just sad. I wish they can be friends again. a really really close friends.
Messy lol. I can't tell if they left her parts unsung as a sign of respect, or because they were all afraid of looking like they supported booting her for more parts? I can't imagine what it was like for the fans that day too. To be so excited to see them only to find out what happened. What a sad and confusing time for Sone and probably for the girls too. I still to this day think SM and Jessica had the dispute and maybe SM made it seem like the girls were backing them in their decision. Some of them look genuinely distraught, others look like they couldn't care less :/

Even if you weren't aware of what happened before the performance you can tell something's wrong. Look at Sunny's face she's mad as hell. Mr. Taxi is her song where it's all smile and sexy pose. She didn't smile at all and kept a straight face. Whatever happened Sunny wasn't please with it and it showed on her face and body expression.

So I've been back to binge watches some of SNSD's live performances from debut days until early 2014. There have been so many stages when they were incomplete. OT6, OT7, OT8 were the most formation. And mostly it was came from Actress/Maknae lines absent due to their filming schedule. And yet still.. some members during the introduction section (usually Tiffany), used to informed the audiences why some members wasn't on stage. ~But certainly not for this one! Clearly some deep things happened and it was all messed-up decision made in the VERY last minute. 😔
This video kinda makes it very obvious who Choo Mina is. She looked very very happy to sing Jessica’s lines, and she didn’t forget to sing a single one. Everyone else slipped up a couple times.

I didn't follow this drama as much as most, but I think a lot of the comments are missing a bigger-picture trauma playing out onstage. These 8 are in shock. People react differently to shock. I tend to zone out and just get on with the job until I can process it in my own time. You can see various members doing just that -- trying really hard to be professional. Others have the emotions come out at unexpected moments. But I think -- and you can see it near the end most of all -- there is fear behind the shock. In all of them. That fear is that this is the beginning of the end of the group. They had a great run for 7 years, and people more powerful than them just demonstrated they can dismiss a member real quick.
No they decided as a group that Jessica had to leave, the label supported Jessica staying but they conceded the members had to self determine. They voted five to three for her to leave, you can see the split between Yoona and Theydon at the end.

Yoona was (probably still is) Jessica's best friend. She looked angry even before the show started and when she crossed paths with sooyoung she looked at her like she was asking her to stop everything. She was surely annoyed and disappointed by all the situation. Sooyoung was also close to jessica. If you look closely there are some bad interactions between them. We will never know but I'm sure that jessica was kicked out by a certain part of the group and the other part still wanted her in the group.
