That hug was better than anything I’ve seen all year. I think we all needed that. Thank you Adam for all the fun throughout the years. And thank you to the Wainwright family for sharing Adam with us on this wild, crazy, incredible baseball ride we’ve all been on together for the past 19 years. What a fun time it was!
Adam "Waino-Uncle Charlie" Wainwright has a smile that can light up a city... as it did for many wonderful years that led to World Series Championships. Us Cardinals fans were blessed to have him on our team his whole career. Just like Yadi. And they're thee best pitcher & catcher duo in MLB history. God bless this man and his loved ones. 🇺🇲✊🏻✌🏻🙏
I watched you close out the 2006 World Series in a brand new Busch Stadium at 12 years old. 18 years later, 2 weeks before I turn 30, I sat in front of the TV and watched the last of the Golden Era of Cardinals baseball come to a conclusion. There will never be another like you, Waino. Thank you for 18 years of memories St. Louis will never forget. We love you, Waino. Best of luck in retirement
Thank you Adam for all of the great memories after all of these years. You will always be a Cardinals Hall of Famer (in a few years). I hope you enjoy your retirement.
That smile will always be missed. Can't wait for his album. I'll be buying it. I haven't bought an album in probably 12 years because of Spotify, but I'm going to buy his. The sound wasn't great on Saturday, so I couldn't hear most of the lyrics, but I could hear the melody and music. Solid stuff. Really appreciated the love song to Cardinals nation
Mr. Wainwright, I am not a huge sports fan but I am a Wainwright so I of course followed your amazing, inspiring, and sexy career as much as possible. I finally sat down today to check out a few of your televised interviews throughout the years. I honestly didn't think Adam Wainwright was your actual name I assumed it was just marketable. I watched the very first interview in which you ended on a note letting the interviewer know, "I am about to go buy some horses". I laughed my a*& off no he's definitely a Wainwright. Thank you for your career I am also a recovering addict, some of my darkest times were turned around watching you play on many long nights. Thank you so much again you have know idea how many times you gave me the strength to go on.
Great getting to see all of the retirement ceremony for Adam Wainright on RU-vid. Even though I was only 10 at the time I well remember the retirement ceremony 60 years ago in 1963 for Stan Musial.
Wainwright missed one entire season, plus large parts of two others. We can only speculate what his career numbers might be if he hadn't mssed all that significant time. I've been fortunate to have seen so many Cardinal greats over my 64 years.,from Gibson and Brock during the 1960's and 1970's to Albert, Yadi, and Waino. Thank you Adam for all the thrills and memories!
Yadi i miss you sooooo much! Albert…I missed you for years and coming back last year was nothing short of a miracle and i’m so blessed to have seen you in that uniform again! Waino…you’re a legend and i pray you remain in our organization somehow! Can’t wait to hear you in the booth! Can you talk to Bill DeWitt about buying our team some pitching PLEASE!
Thank you Waino for the most memorable moments in baseball ⚾️ You are a class act that can never be match! You will be missed but always welcome at Bush Stadium 🏟 so you better visit often!!
Jesse Haines, Dizzy Dean, Bob Gibson, Bob Forsch, a lot of great pitchers have worn the birds on the bat. #50 is on that list as well, 2nd in games started, strikeouts, and bWAR and 3rd in wins and innings pitched in Cardinals history. He will always be one of my favorite ballplayers, and while it's a shame he had to miss the magical run in 2011, he has still pitched more postseason innings than any other Cardinal and the 23rd-most all time, just behind the great Randy Johnson. Enjoy your retirement, Uncle Charlie.
I got married in August 2006, and the Cards were around 10 games out of first when we left on our honeymoon. When we came back, they were in first! They went on a crazy run, and we all know what happened that October! 😄 I was 11 when they won in '82, and I could barely breathe on that last pitch in 2006! I'm so lucky I got to watch Waino's whole career. Hrs such an amazing player, and even better person. I'll sure miss you Waino!
TERRIBLE SUNDAY!!! Once again we didn’t make it to post season! ERRR BUT YOURE MISSED ALREADY! #50 in my heart for life as my son wears your number proudly
Why did they even say Mozeliak and the Dewitt’s names😂 Mo was grinning before they even said his name, he knew it was coming. I think I even heard a “sell the team” after he announced Marmol.
In all fairness, BDJr. has focused more on BPV than the Cardinals in the last few years. If Bill wants to become a real estate mogul, he needs to give the team to his son and not strain his relationship with the fans. Best way to alienate your fanbase is to not put a majority of your focus on the team you own... And Dewitt Jr. has done exactly that: alienate the fans with little focus on the team.
2 years of cardinal legends who went out in dogshit seasons. Damn shame. Killer teams that should be in the world series at least. Hope something changes for 24🇺🇸🤘🇺🇸
Very good pitcher available from overseas .. Now proven he was setup by a nasty woman. At least talk to the man… better than any pitcher the Cardinals have at this point
