Full Analysis of the Halo 3 Beta 

Awesome analysis. Quite a few things in here I didn't even notice.

They also cut some of the animations they were going to give to Brutes and Elites. Examples include which we saw in the 'Et Tu Brute' documentary: -Brutes pushing over vehicles. -Brute smashing a marine over the head with a hammer. -Brute ripping off the arms of a marine. -Elites being able to duel-wield energy swords and using them to "execute" a Brute by slicing off their legs before stabbing them in the chest. A shame these never saw the light of day.

The compass is mostly a debug thing only seen in internal builds. It's drawn exclusively via code which is how they can easily toggle it for release/public builds.

No one ever talks about how dead Spartans would float down the river in Valhalla. It was kinda funny

Holy crap, this brings me back.

The Mark VI helmet looks so much better in the beta, the golden visor makes it pop.

Is it just me, or did the rusty look of the spartans in the beta look better than the finished clean look?

One thing I noticed about the beta was that the colors or textures of the Spartans looked a bit different. Maybe a bit shinier? I don't know exactly what it is, but I preferred the beta Spartans look back then.

There are numerous things I forgot to mention in this video, so what I'm gonna plan to do in the near future is make a follow up video for each Halo beta I cover to go over anything I missed. Not sure if I want to make them separate videos or have all of the Halo betas be revisited in one video. It'll depend on how much content I forgot to cover.

You forgot to mention they changed the name for the medal "Cheneymania" (killing 10 opponents in a row without dying with a shotgun) to "open season" in the final release.

20:15 You can still pickup a vehicle with another person in it. It's a bug, you have to enter the vehicle at the same time the person picks it up. I used to fly my friends around sandbox and have gausshog wars in the air.

The beta trip mine was the best part lol. I used to spawn in Valhalla, grab the trip mine, mongoose to the enemy base and boobytrap their warthog. Then it was just a matter of time til I got 1-3 kills 😂 Also anyone notice how rocks were very slightly see through in the beta? I could kinda see the outlines of enemies sometimes through the rocks. Obviously they fixed it for the actual game

The most fun i had in any halo game was in the halo 3 beta where when you glitched into custom games you could make your character run so fast you could splatter other players as well as ramp off geometry and fly across maps. This might not be a thing that happened in other peoples short beta experience but i can assure you it did, and it was amazing

Pretty surreal that the pimps at sea bulid is now availabe to the public now.

The shot of the TVs in Quisnam Protero Damno running an earlier build is probably due to them recording the live action segments separate from the direct-feed gameplay, and in between those times they had a later build to record which was more representitive of what the final game would eventually be, hence why everything apart from the tree trunks on Valhalla are all in the final game.

That menu screen though! Brings back insane memories of the good old days lol. I was still in high school and I remember buying crackdown just so I could get the Halo 3 beta. Turns out crackdown wasn’t a bad game either but the Halo 3 beta was what I really wanted to get my hands onto. The beta was a fun experience and a great way to introduce the legendary and unforgettable Halo 3. Great vid! 👍

I remember in the Epsilon's Forge mode you could spawn Shade turrets and the sniper platforms (at least on Snowbound).

2007, ich was 32 there already working fulltime. me and my buddy would set the alarm clock 3 hours earlier for the whole beta and played every day before work and if we could late in the night. glorious memories and thanks for that video.

Woh @9:44 the armor texture and visor looks so cool. I kinda like that secondary color scheme in beta but im glad they didnt keep it like that so it didnt look too much like wearing pants and a shirt. But maybe they could have kept that as an option? Also i played a halo 3 el derado or whatever its called and they let you keep your secondary color in team games even when youre red or blue. I think that would have been cool but its probably for the best so there wasnt any confusion or too many colors

Hi 'Vadam. I hope you read comments. Have you ever considered doing the same thing for Destiny? It had an alpha, beta, and is made by Bungie. Destiny and Halo while not quite twin siblings, are very similar to each other and I think you could have a lot of fun looking into it. There's some interesting facts I've found myself, for example in the pre-release videos you could have handcannons as a secondary. Please let me know what you think, I'd love to be able to expect a Destiny analysis from you. :)

How tf did u revisited Halo 3 beta?

seeing all this makes me want to cry from nostalgia, back in 2008 when I was... well 8 years old my friend invited me to his house to play with his new "X-BOX" he got for his birthday. by young mind wondered what the hell that was because all I had at the time was a ps2 and a n64. when I got there he introduced me to halo 3... my god halo 3, the game that got me into modern gaming and truly changed me and how I viewed the world. this game isn't just A GAME it's a god damn MASTERPIECE. it's a damn shame Bungie thought it was a good idea to sell the halo IP 343 because now the franchise is essentially ruined. sure halo 5 was fun and the multiplayer was okay but the the problem is is that halo shouldn't just be okay it should be your GOTY every year it comes out and for me halo barely made it to my top 5 of 2015. they better get their heads out of their asses and fix their MAJOR problems with halo 6 otherwise they are going to be the ones that are blamed for halo's mistakes. GODDAMMIT BUNGIE WHY? WHY SELL THE HALO IP!? -true halo fan that misses the old days

So the HUD changed each game, and we know that the original trilogy took place over the course of about 3 months. So the master chief's heads up display was constantly changing. Constantly getting updates. Therefore we can deduce that mjolinir runs on windows.
