Anyways, technically a full auto M4A1 is a shortened M16A3, the earliest iteration of an automatic M16 was the XM16E1, later known as the M16A1. And the earliest iteration of a burst M16 is the M16A2, as shown in Black Ops Cold War. The M16 in COD4, MW2, MW3, AW, MWII and MWIII is the modern M16A4 variant, which said variant also spawned the M4 Carbine, basically a burst M4A1, before the M4A1 even existed. And then, they switched the Carbine's fire selector to the S-1-F system, creating the iconic M4A1. So it's the opposite of the sentence in the time stamp when it comes to the guns.

Thank you for bringing a little gun nerdy to this, it should always be welcome. I feel the need to add a little correction though: The M4's life cycle started in tandem with the M16A2 in 1983 and the M4A1 entered service in 1993/94. The M16A4 didn't come about until 1997. It's also worth noting the M4's were a direct lineage from the Colt Carbines (the CAR series), not the M16 directly - which started with the XM177 before evolving into the CAR/700 series. In a similar vein, Colt's carbines, specifically the 733 and 933 respectively were the predecessor to the Mk18. Sincerely, a fellow nerd who has a thing for retro AR's.

Tip to make it full-black, use the “Shadow Stalker” camo in the stripes camo category. It’s on a MW2 weapon.

To actually make it fully Black, use the Charcoal camo, which is a Solid Color camo that is pure Black, you can unlock it easily by leveling up the Chimera MW2 assault rifle a bit and completing the camo challenge, it’s very quick.

historical context: the original version of the M16 was fully automatic, they did not switch to the burst mode until the A2 model. THis was also strue for the M4 when it was formally adopted as the main service rifle in the GWOT, it too was a burst fire weapon. The M16 would get its automatic version back in the A4 model and the M4 would be converted to the current service model of M4A1 which is now fully automatic

Tmal, let me tell ya a mini story Got into a few matches of ffa, using some of the new conversion kits such as the jak wardens, jak nightshade, and the patriot ofc. etc. and i made a few enemies….because my gimmick is a riot shield, i always have one on because why tf not, i really love killing people with it, (got one trick with it) and i am used to the counters…its what you expect honestly….they are mad tho even tho i have it on my back….One dude got upset….saying i suck (even tho i am not good in the first place and just tryna have fun) still talked shit. (He was using the rival 9 and switched to the mcw) and im like “bruh”

I want to like this gun, but it's clearly bugged, either with the advanced stats or something. It literally says it has 2 degrees of horizontal control, but still goes so far to the left. It's fun to use for the memes I guess, but you're better off just using the m4. Even with the bfb muzzle, this still has more recoil than the m4.

only the m16A4 is burst only with all other versions being capable of full auto, it was a way for the army to skim on training, most guns with burst in game have it as a selectable mode, most guns aren't burst only

Irl the m16 and the m4 are differenciated by small part upgrades and mostly the barrel length. As i understand the m16a3 is just like the m16a4 in game, but full auto. I still think the idea of having an m4, an m16 and a full auto version for the m16 is dumb. Also, cod mobile did it first

Ok, am I dumb enough to get back call of duty even tho I know it’s gonna cause me to yell scream and rant for days on end and hurt my pride, my mental health and wellbeing just because of the full auto m16…….. Yes yes I am

It's so weird to me that cod has such a large variety of weapons and attachments etc, but if you enjoy anything not the meta you get called names or a cheater.
