last year I lost 50 lbs from simply hooping. If you just run back and forth on full court pickup everyday or even 3 days a week, you're gonna be losing weight fast. I gained 20 lbs since school started, so i needa get back on track

Me too...and I'm in my 40s! Play full court with kids in their 20s. Don't ever stop! The second you do, you'll gain weight and get out of shape. I play every other day and weight training 2 times a week. If I miss a day cool, but I try to keep on schedule. Mind you basketball wasn't my sport growing up. I just play hella defense and use that old man size to box out.

dude damn wtf, how oyu gain weight so quickly?? I will eat like crazy and this summer, i really have not done shit for basketball, for the past 3 weeks, yet i gained like 1 kg, i did party like crazy, maybe i burned all of the calories i ate there but like damn, still 20lbs??

awesome vid man, thanks for sharing and showing that you walk the talk too. also, i'm not sure if you mentioned this in the video, but i just wanted to add something that i picked up for my own training: make sure you SHOOT FREE THROWS TOO!!!!! especially when you're tired. to be efficient you can probs incorporate free throw shooting into your rest time. just imagine all the free throws you can hit even when you're "tired"... legit shooting free throws when you're totally gassed during training is one of the best ways to prepare for the clutch moments when you're shooting free throws at the end of games..(and throughout the game in general, like, after you just went from 0-100 and drove for an and-1 or you get an opportunity for 2 free throws, you'll have already trained to take free throws when you're tired) so many benefits and i'm barely scratched the surface im sure. keep balling and hustling y'all, you can never beat the grind

Back story for me, I played women’s basketball since 6th grade and played all the way into a D1 college. I stayed in sports so I can stay in shape and have fun. Now that I’ve stopped doing sports, I’ve gained around 35 lbs. this video made me realize that I actually enjoyed doing basketball drills for exercise.

thanks, i just started doing this.. my own version atm are 8 only right handed layups per set, full suicides, 17s half only per set, and lots of rest in between sets... maybe more than a minute.. im 40ish lol :)

Riding a bike helps too, especially if you ride hard and up hills. Really good for cardio, core, and balance.

I can confirm this, I've been running for a while and I don't get gassed in games as fast, by my footwork is trash and my D is bad so I def need some side to side movement

I did this today and it’s feel like my abdominal muscle is going to committing suicide. I finished it even though it’s pretty devastating for me. And I missed a lot of left hand layups so I have to do more reps lol

I just did this today and boy was I breathing hard ! Reality check at its finest I got through it though. Should this be a 1 time a day thing with a nice shoot around afterwards ? Or is this a thing you have to do multiple times a day ?

@@Sophia-ht2dd I would say sprints would be best if you aren’t going to use a ball, that’s the most basketball specific conditioning outside of playing. You can try and make it same distance as I do in the video.

You can’t target area specific fat. Just do the workout consistently and I mean consistently no bs and you’ll see results. I’ve seen results in less than a week, I did it 4 days straight of just simply shooting around I’m a stocky guy though. Everybodies different you know.I think making sure to get the exercise is the important thing with burning any fat.
