The piece sitting in the water after the ice melts is called muck dyeing. I have seen some awesome shirts done that way. Hopefully in October i can start getting supplies to start myself. Its been calling me for months so im soaking up all the knowledge i can till then. Even practicing folding lol. Thanks for this video and the knowledge.

I did the ice method a few years ago, but I put the dye onto the prepared fabric with the ice on top of it, the colours were so very crisp, I saw an American Gentleman on the tv years ago who was describing how he did it, he even managed simple pictures, it was amazing. I really love your videos, keep making them

Thanks I just tried ice dye for the first time and I think I need more ice next time. Now I know since they’re all melted that they’re ready to rinse. I now know the others I did the rings will need to set overnight and then I’ll rinse them and since they’re all the same colors once they are all rinsing clear I can wash them all together with a color fixing solution. Thank you

How did you wash them? Did you wash them all on their own or all at the same time? I washed 2 different colored pieces together and it dyed both of them blue 🤦🏽‍♂️ did I maybe not rinse them enough?

Got the 1st wash they need to be Separate if you use different colours
