Anyone else pausing every so often to add a book or two to their TBR?

1 - You have an amazing collection, insanely jealous. I hope one day I can have a collection to challenge you. 2 - Your husband, brother and wedding all sound AMAZING! The way those around you take notice of your hobbies and interests, and how they incorporate that into gifts and special moments! The proposal box is incredible!

Just a head's up about that green Byron book- you might want to be careful handling it with bare hands because green books of that era often contained arsenic to get that green color.

You need the Informers, as far as "horror" from Bret Easton Ellis, one of the characters is a vampire.

Relate to your intro - books are the #1 thing I spend my discretionary money on, and reading is the #1 thing I spend my free time on. I'd rather spend $20 on a book than a new shirt... and it's starting to catch up with me. Soon I'll have to make my clothes out of the pages of the books I unhaul. Guess I'll have to laminate 'em or the rain could be a problem. 😜

So, in the thousands, millions of books published it happens you mentioned a book with several pgs missing. Last Christmas someone gifted me one of the "Bourn Ideenity books I still have but couldn't find. Not really my style I would never have bought it but I started reading and thought what an odd beginning. Turns out the first 34 post were missing not torn out just not there she bought it new at Target.

You have a fantastic collection and I'm jealous of some of your coolest editions. Seeing your poetry shelf was cool because I have been thinking that I want to read more poetry but didn't know where to start because my taste in poems aren't very diverse. I'm not into a lot of classical poetry, but some of your collections sounded right up my alley, like "Love Is A Dog From Hell" and "Ariel." Also I can't believe I didn't know about William Peter Blatty's book "On the Exorcist." I'm obsessed with both his novel and the film. Definitely need to find myself a copy of that.

you can’t do a video about challenging books in the english language without Finnegans Wake. From Wikipedia: Finnegans Wake is a novel by Irish writer James Joyce. It is known for its experimental style and its reputation as one of the most difficult works of fiction in the Western canon. Written over a period of seventeen years and published in 1939, the novel was Joyce's final work. It is written in a largely idiosyncratic language which blends standard English with neologisms, portmanteau words, Irish mannerisms and puns in multiple languages to create a refracted effect. It has been categorized as "a work of fiction which combines a body of fables [...] with the work of analysis and deconstruction"; many critics believe the technique was Joyce's attempt to recreate the experience of dreams and hypnagogia, reproducing the way in which concepts, memories, people and places become amalgamated in dreaming. It has also been regarded as an attempt by Joyce to combine many of his prior aesthetic ideas, with references to other works and outside ideas woven into the text. Although critics have described it as unintelligible, Joyce declared that "every syllable can be justified". Due to its linguistic experiments, stream of consciousness writing style, literary allusions, free dream associations, and abandonment of narrative conventions, Finnegans Wake has been agreed to be a work largely unread by the general public.
