Today, we will discuss the total price breakdown and what it costs to build a pole barn. We built a 40x60 barn in 2023/2024 and used Morton Building's to build our post-frame structure.
The numbers we listed here are just the cost of the building and shell-nothing more! If you'd like to see a follow-up video of all the extras we have invested in the barn, we can create a part 2 related to this build.

I always find it funny when neighbors get mad when people build something on a lot they do not own. If you never wanted anything built there, then you should’ve purchased the additional lot to protect your “view” or whatever they are saying you’re ruining lol.

It's not funny when people try to stop you from building, it's evil. It is a very real form of theft in that people steal or attempt to steal what you can do with your land.

My dad had a coworker once who always tried to make his work life miserable. Tried to get him in trouble with the boss, lied about things, and was a total jerk in general. One evening, when my dad was off work, but this individual WAS working, God placed it on my dad's heart to stop in at the office and take this man some ice cream. He said he walked in and gave him the ice cream, sat down and visited with him for a few minutes, then left. He never had any problems after that. Something about my dad I'll never forget

Great looking building! Can’t wait to see the inside finished. Morton builds a great building however there are many established builders that do as well for much cheaper using the same materials and experience. It’s all about what you’re comfortable with in your budget. Thanks for sharing your cost and experience!

Currently wrapping up a building now for a client. It’s 50x75 with a 12x75 porch and my client is all in with the building package and concrete around around the same price, however we are using rediron framing instead of a pole barn. Garage door and windows added another 15-20k. We also included R-35 insulation in the roof and R-13 in the side walls. At the end of the day it’s all about having a good relationship with your contractor and making sure the client is satisfied when everything is all said and done! Great video!

Buy once cry once 😊 People (neighbour's, customers etc etc ) will always rain in on your party / dreams on the way but it's your frigging party and you'll laugh at the stories as you sit on the porch reminiscing on the awesome fabric woven into this beautiful life. It’s because of the material you have and a finished inside. Most ppl don’t “finish” the inside because it’s a shop. That’s the difference. Plus down south we are jack of all trades so most put them up themselves with co workers and they survive hurricanes etc lol lot of us are welders, carpenters, pipefitter, electricians but trade so we all come together over Popeyes chicken and a couple case of beer and get it done

@@BriansLawnMaintenance you will always look back and say “what if” or there always could have been a better price on anything we do. The shop will pay for itself from storage fees etc plus it gives the crew a dry climate control space to get things done like maintenance etc on rainy days so that goes a long way and boost morale I promise! It was the right best/ decision in the long run. Plus you can claim it on your taxes. Keep growing dude! The crew will appreciate it!

We just bought 40 acres last Friday... we are planning un a 40x60 pole barn. Our area should go pretty easy. Most everyone around us have large buildings

I’ve been watching your entire build from the beginning. Y’all have come so far. What an incredible process you’ve been through. Everything is coming together,& I was so proud of you,& Liz. Where I live in Ma.. I know of at least 30 pole barns farmers built to block the view of their beautiful farms from a-holes who complained about their farm… that they built homes next to.

So what was total cost- 190k? Looks great! Will not think of cost in 30 years when mortgage? is paid off and you are enjoying a great space maybe that maybe formerly housed business which has since outgrown the shop and you just have toys and some personal stuff in there. Same with main house. Will never be like dang wish I cheaped out on the plumbing in 10 years or 40 years. Instead you’ll be like, I’m so glad we have great spaces that are functional, and I can enjoy life instead of repairing plumbing, remodeling etc…although I’m sure you’ll remodel kitchen and bathrooms in 15 years-it’s just how it goes…I had no issue with our kitchen…but someone cough cough important person in family decided they were sick of kitchen and wanted a refresh, that led to bathrooms too lo. You get the point. Congrats on a great project. Glad you did it in phases ie lot, house, barn and pool I’m future. Congrats!

There's a big difference between a basic building and what you built. You pretty much built a house quality shop. Most people wont do that, so your cost will be a LOT higher. But dam does it look good.

I don’t think we did anything signature or exceedingly premium/custom, it’s just the regular process for Morton, I think that’s what makes them unique in the marketplace. We did spring for a few extras, insulation, finished interior, etc, but nothing dramatic or outside of the wheelhouse for what they offer. 😀
