Lindberg's "Lil Red Wagon" kit is the same sprues molded in red. I built it as the stock truck. I recently got this "Touch Tone Terror" kit, and will do it as the telephone service truck. I wish AMT had supplied the original clear styrene phone booth parts instead of printed cardboard.
Ahh! The age old “opening doors” issue! Way to battle through it! I keep thinking of getting this kit, but I’m so swamped with my racing kits and previously stash added other kits. At 60, I’m trying to get through what I already have, but so many cool kits it’s hard to throttle back! So many great kits available with nobody to tell me “NO!” 🤣✌🏼
Beautiful Workmanship Louie, According to Bill Maverick Golden this model came out in 1970 to replace the Little Red Wagon, It only lasted one year, By 1971 the Little Red Wagon Kit was back on the shelves at the hobby shops, The trick to the doors is when you put the inner hinge in place leave one of the smaller outer hinges on the bottom resting on the pin, and glue the top hinge to the door so when you slide the door to mate to the bottom hinge and the top hinge will already line up with the pin, and the bottom hinge you can slide it into the glue spot in the door slot jamb, That's the way I've always done it since 1966 when the Little Red Wagon first came out By IMC, And always test fit the door in the opening to see if you need to remove any excess material around the edges of the door jam, So will fit in the opening and be able to open and close with no problem, Once again Excellent Workmanship Louie.
Just a little helpful hint.. I like to use rubber bands to hold the rear axle housing together while its drying. Works great. Keep up the good work. Love the videos!!
Another great build and showing some of the difficulties that a modeler might have in construction of various kits. Personally, I would have found this particular kit not my choice because of all of the issues that it has, IMO. With your experience you are able to overcome any problems that come up.
Hey Man. I don't know if you have ever heard of "Fanhome or Agora" models. But thought maybe you would consider building one of those. I have the Fast and furious Charger. I have seen some of your builds. And I happen to really like them. Keep up the great work
I have heard of those. I don’t really enjoy pre painted kits. Plus, the kit doesn’t come all at once. Being Autistic, without it all there, I’d lose interest pretty quickly. Plus price point is pretty expensive. Thank you. I appreciate your feedback.
How did the floor pan fit after you had glued in the rear pan and tailgate, Louie? I haven't tackled any of the Lindberg re-issues I have yet, but twelve year old me found the floor pan too wide for the body in the IMC versions I built, resulting in the pan and tailgate being too narrow for the openings.
The Tamiya cement is the best I think. I use the super thin quick set most of the time for things. But on slower curing stuff the Orange top cement is great. For me, nothing else compares. Thanks for watching.
The original kit you could build a phone booth trike, the new kit I think they couldn't find the molds for the phone booth, but I found instructions of the original kit online that shows the trike, ( model car magazine, or Fotki) I think this is the site, I wish the phone booth molds weren't lost that would make a cool peace for a diorama
