He also once overhauled a transmission with one hand, while holding a camera with the other, and somehow managed to produce both a working transmission and a high water mark of filmmaking. The world needs more of Mark.
@goldar4846 Let me elaborate for all you simps, I am simply giving the man props for doing work himself unlike these other RU-vid creators who pay someone else to do their work and never turn a wrench. If your weak comment was directed towards me I'm living my dream and I could care less about posting any of it on Social Media platforms so hopefully you live an exciting life just like I do.
Fantastic build! The Honda Fit is one of the most underrated platforms out there. Glad to see someone taking it to its full potential. Thanks for sharing!
I've been watching this channel for a while even though I lost a couple of accounts. What I like about this channel is that all the bills are realistic to actual working people
As a GE8 owner, I've been waiting on people to start releasing jumper harnesses and get the quirks of this swap sorted so it's more plug and play. It's definitely on my to-do list at some point.
I loved watching how that engine fit in the boot of your car, that was crazy! But the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT of this video was you showing how you dropped that engine without a lift, BRAVO SIR! Now I'm getting the itch to take out a personal loan and do this to my 2010, hopefully it's as affordable for me as it was for you. Cheers fellow Honda brother, you win RU-vid today with this video!
Nice build. Right off the bat this triggered my hatred for rev-hang though. You're already running flashpro... I would disable rev-hang ASAP. I hate how lethargic these engines sound while still stuck on the factory settings for decel throttle-opening, fuel cut delay, etc... These engines have the ability to feel sharp and alive with the correct settings. Get that dialed in and then start hitting some crisp rev-matches. You'll love it 10x more.
Heh so awesome. Couple weeks ago I just replaced my 5 speed with a k20z3 Si transmission for the first time by myself, and afterwards was covered in bruises from dropping the subframe, dropping the old tranny, installing a new flywheel + friction disc + pressure plate setup, then getting everything back together again... I loved it!! 👏👏
I know we don't know each other but I just want to say I'm proud of you, bro. You built what you said you wanted to build. I hope I can follow the same footsteps 1 day and doing the same thing. But shit is so expensive in cali!
Incredible upload Mark! A lot of work went into this video upload. The swap, editing, chasing down parts, custom made parts. Most detailed and informative Fit k24 swap on youtube to date. Loved every minute of the show. Thank you.
I am so very envious of your build! Great work! The gen 2 fit is beautiful. I currently drive a '02 EP3 with the K20A2 and 6 speed swapped in from an 03 RSX Type S. It makes me want to start over and work towards something like this. Thank you for the video, I really enjoyed watching it.
I believe the most Honda would have done would be a 1.8L DOHC in the Fit from factory. Honda would want to stick to the overall nimbleness and daily practicality of the fit while keeping costs down. We can only continue to dream.
Just got my first Honda Car, a Honda Civic FB, and this pop right into my suggested videos. Your build gives me chills to the bones and the pops and bangs ignits my spirit. Thanks for the knowledge.
@10:31 Call over two strong friends to simply lift the front end up off the jack stands, you slide the engine, then they lower back onto the jackstands. The front end is surprisingly light without the engine, transmission and subframe.
That build is clean! You can just see the thought and planning that went in to that! Reminds me of how I do my builds! Oem+ very very nice work my man. Hope to see what your next project will be. You gained a follower!
I watch a lot of car videos man, but things like K swaps into things like a Fit are just mind blowing to me. I wish I had your skill. Big respect from Ireland.
So much great info in here, and I wanted to express my appreciation for the hard work in putting this video together. I love the Honda Fit's... and I just bought my 4th one (GE8) 2 weeks ago expressly as my mid-life crisis project car. Thanks for sharing this!
Very Nice Job, I still have both my One Off JDM GD3s. One is still Kseries Swap Turbo that was all custom parts back in 06-07, and my other is my Js Racing T1R L15 Turbo GD3 Fit with Bisimotos one-off stuff back in 07. OG Owner and will never let go off them. So much fun. Gorgeous GE8 and VLOG. 🙏🏻👍
Man I miss my GD3. That was my first new car when I was 18. I’m on FK8 now, but have always wanted to rebuild an older Honda. Maybe I’ll revisit this in the future! Thanks for this detailed video. I will save this for the future!
That's fuckin sick! Watching your clip at 26:09 I estimate you ran 0-60 in 5.2-5.5 seconds which is way better than the 9 seconds it came with the L15A, K24 power!! The real Fit Type R
Nice build and build process you got sir. Your honda fit story inspires us to go ahead, research, and do our own build. Gou got a new yt and ig subscriber here.🤙
The Honda Fit? Honda absolutely Yoked. That exhaust note is so nice - always makes me happy to see sleeper builds that don't have exhausts that, to me, defeat the feel of the sleeper.
I'd be interested to see a video on the reverse lockout and lights, as it's something VTEC Academy kinda skimmed over as well. Useful for those us who might be doing an auto/manual swap.
favorite part is hearing the induction noise of the intake from inside of the cab. could spend 10k on an exhaust and still not have that beautiful sound
Been wanting to do this to my Fit since I bought it in 2010. Hopefully next year I can start doing the same swap. Oh and yea 2 gen FTW!! great job Mark!!!
Definitely a dream car. Like a fiesta st but well built. (I owned a fiesta st and now a 02 rsx type s). My rsx is almost as fast NA, gets 30-35mpg highway, and only uses some oil at 234k miles
Nice build man! I wish I the time and skill to do something like that. I am looking into going to the dragon with my FL5 CTR next year. That looks like a good time.😊
36:00 So every time you want to check engine oil or fill the oil, you may have to remove the windshield wipers, windshield wiper motor, hood hinge covers, plastic and metal cowling.
