Next time when painting you need to apply a coat of clear and let that fully cure before doing the green(or any other colors). Once cured, you would scuff it again and do your additional colors. If theres any overspray, you simply wipe it off with reducer/solvent or wet sand it out and it wont mess with the base coat😏. I just did a set for my rsv4 a few months ago.

Hey Kent, congrats on the new track monster! She sounds just fantastic. I've got an RSV4 APRC from 2014 that I bought... 4th hand! Understandably, she needed some cosmetic work, so I've got Profiber tank cover and plastics. Your tank cover went on super smooth! Mine has not. I've tried heat gun, reducing a few mm off the back end, everything. It won't sit flush so the fuel cap is accessible. Any tips man? Thanks in advance, and great work on the bike-

Heya mate, I actually had the same problem initially. I shaved about 5mm off the section all around where the front of the seat goes. Then it managed to get to within 2-3mm of being flush…..

@@oneL Cheers! That's exactly what I'm looking at, it still won't be flush but 2-3 mm space wouldn't be the worst thing. Stumbled across your channel while looking for more expert RSV4 mechanical information - subscribed for the rad superbike rebuilds. Clean videos, thanks again-

Question, why don't you take the OEM fairings off before putting the tank cover etc on? The fit looks really strange going over the original tank fairings etc. Surely it's not meant to?

Because once I had it on there was no way of getting it off afterwards 😂

@@oneL Gotcha, I just had the thought when it went on and wondered how it worked/actually stays on there haha. Sick build as usual though dude, love seeing all the Panigale rebuilds, you're making me want an 1199 or 959 so much more now! :D

@oneL All good, looks like it was a bit of an effort plus I'm still recovering from surgery after I broke my back about 6 months ago. Just managed to sit on my Streetfighter V4S again and go for a quick ride. 👍 RSV4 is my dream trackbike aswell
