Excellent!!! After 40 years of personal experience, gained from the backyard repairs I struggled through, I have considered myself to be somewhat knowledgeable in auto mechanics. However, after watching your rebuild, I now realize that I am still in grade school. Just great!! Truly impressive!!! Props to you!!! Great Job!!! Great Reward!!!
Once you get a garage set up with a lift you will be just this good it's all about being away from the elements and having lift man once you get a lift you could do these RU-vid videos
Maybe think about stripping the crank case of everything - hinging the top and bottom - add a little Red Flag to it (potentially using one of the Rods as the flag post) then it becomes the coolest mailbox for the shop ever...
The original owner was very corect...you are very lucky with this amazing Top Turbo 911, and with all the original and rare& expensive parts...Top content, like usually, thanks!
Sad to see the 4G go back to stock, cause you were the only other good 4G racing content out here. Excited to see the j37a build on the Type S though🤙. Might as well sell the 4G, and get the TLX Type S 🤷♂️ haha.
17:58 that roller bearing box has some interesting text on it LOL... all jokes aside, my father used to be in the import-export business for bearings and the first time i saw a shelf full of "Fischer's Automatische Gusstahlkugelfabrik" bearing boxes it was a bit of a shock
You're abilities are way beyond mine, BUT I had to laugh when you put the battery in backwards because that's totally something that I would do! You made me feel much better.
I don't know the first thing about restoring cars, i'm not a porsche guy nor have i ever owned one, and I don't plan to...but still watched this 1 and a half hour long video and loved it. Good work
I've seen cranks and other parts placed inside a clear glass coffee table. The top usually allows access to the parts and the ability to change things out.
I've grown to like & watch your channel a lot, it reminds me of Stacey David's "Trucks" from the 2000's man. I get those vibe's anyway, keep up the content & great work!!
Hi Lee. I already have a comment in because i saw this video before. I'm just watching it again lol. And I love the way you know all the parts and how good or bad they are. You stole this Car for that money. Lovely Yellow colour. Beautiful Car Lee. 👏👏😅😅🇨🇮
I just came across your vid on the 1988 911 CE. You indicated that there was a missing Carrera badge on the rear of the car. I don’t think it was missing. I inherited one of these cars from the original owner. She drove it off the lot and has maintained it perfectly ever since. The car only has 18k miles and looks like the day it was driven off the lot. Within the past 2 mos, another 88 CE sold for $147k on BAT. The buyer of the car that you highlighted on your show got a great deal.
Kinda feel like the coolant reservoir is gonna cause a problem. Its not even needed on this because the radiator fill is the highest point of the cooling system. With the reservoir being lower than the radiator fill it would be overflowing before the radiator was even topped off.
The only thing I'd have done differently was kept the color matched intake piping. That splash of yellow would really pop the stock bay. But I get trying to reduce the overall cost.
If the original owner is looking in... Kudos to you, you loved that car. Sorry how it eventually treated you and that you had to let it go. Hope you go onto better things.
Hi just a simple question- Why do you not clean the engine and transmission ( exterior) and make it SPOTLESS before reinstalling, in fact I would clean EVERYTHING before reinstalling
Lee. I'm sorry about the "brang" comment! You said "ran" ! My apology! It brought back memories from my childhood! I'm bad but laughing! LOL! I corrected my nephew on that one also!
If I'm gonna get a Porsche in the future, I'm definitely gonna give it a custom paint job. It's definitely not gonna be yellow it's gonna have a green with purple tint and carbon fiber on top of that
Lee. What is the word "brang" It brought you this much? Dude I am screwing with you! Great video! I had a problem with that word when I was a kid! I have not heard that word since? As you know it is "it brought you" It brings back good childhood memories! LOL! That is one of the words I had problems with as a child! Mazageens was another one! " Magazines" LOL!
