Christina Aguilera took the stage at the American Music Awards on Sunday night (Nov 19, 2017) to pay tribute to Whitney Houston. The star performed a medley of Houston’s hits from “The Bodyguard,” which marks its 25th anniversary on 2017.
“The Bodyguard” was released on Nov. 25, 1992. The film’s soundtrack went on to become the best-selling movie soundtrack of all time and included some of Houston’s most iconic songs.

After watching I Wanna Dance With Somebody, I stoked at the scene where Whitney was told to sing her 3 songs in medley and she's not feeling at first because all 3 songs are hard to sing, in the end she accepted to sing it medley. Now I understand Xtina with this medley of Whitney's 4 big songs. The pressure is real!!!

Unbelievable! What a vocal performance. I am not aware of any other singer who would have delivered this medley so powerfully and emotionally. Clarkson and Hudson are amazing, yes. But Christina has something else in her vocals that stands out from the others that makes it so special. Truly one of a kind. Christina deserves more respect and appreciation.

Uh, as a huge Christina Aguilera fan for 20 years, I can say this was not her best performance and there are lots of other performances/ tributes where she sounded 10x better. Lots of her fans dont revisit this video because they know its not her best, Im one of those, I only like watched this video 3x I think. But her legendary "its a man's world" performance, that, I watched like a thousand times. Go check it out its 100x better than this.

Christina sang as Christina and not as Whitney Houston as people expected. She did her own version of Whitney's greatest hits and was amazing. if you expected Christina to imitate Whitney just listen to Whitney Houston's records.

I don’t understand why saying that she didn’t perform impeccably is considered hate. Christina is one of the most talented and gifted singers we have but in this case she wasn’t as appreciable as she usually is. It happens to everyone. She’s human. Stop being fanatic.

There are so many things to consider here. Christina grew up singing Whitney. She constantly referred to her as an idol. This is a full circle moment for her. It's one of the first times I've ever seen visible nerves on her but she still killed it and made it her own. I love it

I think what this shows is how effortless Whitney made those notes look. Christina is an accomplished vocalist, capable of a lot. But she struggled. But that isn’t a reflection on her, but a light to Whitney’s talent. Out of this world. I don’t think it’s a coincidence some of the greatest vocalist of our time have died before their time. They done what they had to.
