HOW I MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

A rather long one for something quite simple today but definitely worth it in the end. Another great addition to the stack and anything different to tear apart is always welcome to the channel. It always amazes me with how much people throw away and what can be made from them but that's the way world is at the moment. Now Sit back relax and take a break and I hope to see all you awesome people next Friday😁👋🏻

Well mate., This American Southerner is back in the hospital. Last time I was in a couple months ago, My heart was functioning at 30% EF. It is down now to 20&. the paramedics were called because I Woke up mot breathing and some other symptoms. I asked the cardiologist yesterday if I was dying, He took on a somber look and said we'll do all we can to prolong your life. That didn't make me feel better. the statistics are 2 - 5 years. Kinda weird typing that out. Anyway, THis channel has done a lot to help me relax. I look forward each week to seeing what your melting and the fun. Also, Gotta get Ingot and Bullion fix. Love those two. Hopefully, meds can give me at least 10 more years. Cheer and thank you for the ride, raising my diet Dr. Pepper (no beer in the hospital) Cheers Mate, heres to a good 10 more years. *I am 56)

Not only do you create cubes, ingots, coins, and more out of metal, but you also temper everything in the blood of the ice cubes. And then, to add insult to injury, you throw bricks, motors, and much more at them when they're done. LOVE IT!

I think that first copper cube did that weird thing because there was a pocket of air trapped in the bottom of the mould when you poured it, perhaps poured it a little too fast. As for the glass incident, it was a nice idea but glass never really properly melts unless youre getting it at silly high temperatures and even then it always ends up as a sticky viscous lump which isnt really good for much except leaving to harden into a weird shape or trying to blow into something, I simply wouldnt bother with it.

@@cancer_sucks He warmed up the cube. When there is air or moisture it is expelled very quickly like an explosion in contact with molten metal. He poured the copper and after a while of cooling something comes out of the bottom, bubbles and spills. Very difficult to explain. Maybe some other metal mixed in the solution caused something weird. But I don't think it was air or water.

You are correct, you should definitely be wearing gloves. Accidental lead exposure aside, there are so many nasty things, living or not, that tend to hang around especially on old metal and dirty junk. Please be careful. (Also, I maintain that you only have 1-2 mice, who have decided to see how far inside they can get before you block off all access.)

My favorite metal to watch being melted is the copper. I like seeing the off orange colors the bars become before they're shined and the green flame. Also like seeing that you can make a bit of profit off the copper after putting so much time and effort into the breaking down and melting process.

Gold looks pretty good when melted, but copper has to be my favourite molten metal. The deep orange colour and the way it dances around when it's in its liquid form. Aluminium, (when it's all scummy), are probably the worst for melting. Although, it does look nice when it's, 'cherry red', having been melted to a high enough temperature. And brass, because of the almost always inevitable yellow zinc oxide that tends to result from exposure to air.

It's just a really beautiful metal in all it forms and it looks good when you finish copper anything

May have sent you the wrong plug connector but at least they sent you a proper bigsnack, so not a total loss. Loving the longer videos with multiple melts, super relaxing. Love copper melts, the way that it looks like water when it's melted is just so satisfying to see. As for why the first cube overflowed, my guess would just be a gas bubble formed, like a mini steam explosion, possibly the mold wasn't heated enough.

I love the motor melts, and copper in general. I'm hoping for a giant motor melt (you can get a massive one delivered at the new place) and maybe have one giant copper melt to get the last bit of what's needed to reach the 1000kg goal 😁

Thank you for showing the melted-out rotor (or stator?) - I was curious how it'd look afterwards. Favorite melt: I guess Aluminum. It's just so weird, getting crumbly, then mushy, creating foamy looking slag, making its own straw when pouring...
