Il 12 luglio i Coldplay hanno suonato allo Stadio Olimpico di Roma, nella prima delle quattro date previste nella Capitale italiana. Gli altri live sono in calendario oggi (13 luglio), poi il 15 e il 16. Si tratta della terza serie del Music of the Spheres World Tour (lo stesso che un anno fa fece tappa a Napoli e Milano)
UN'ATTESA LUNGA 21 ANNI - Roma attendeva il loro ritorno dal 2003, quando si esibirono al Centrale del Tennis. Ventuno anni dopo i Coldplay, diventati nel frattempo popstar mondiali, si sono lasciati accogliere dal caldo abbraccio di Roma, allo Stadio Olimpico, poche centinaia di metri dal Centrale. ”Grazie per averci aspettato 21 anni, grazie e benvenuti a tutti. Siamo molto felici di essere qui. Vi voglio bene", ha salutato Chris Martin, un po' in italiano, un po' in inglese in apertura del live
IL MESSAGGIO PER L’UCRAINA - “Siamo fortunati di essere qui con tutto quello che sta succedendo nel mondo. Siamo fortunati anche ad avere tante persone che vengono da ogni dove a cantare insieme a noi con pace e gentilezza”, ha detto il frontman. E l’attenzione per quanto accade nel mondo è nei messaggi scritti in tutte le lingue. Un cartellone in particolare ha attirato l'attenzione di Martin: "Dall'Ucraina. Ehi, guarda cos'ho al braccio". E ha mostrato i nastri gialli e blu che porta al polso, per non dimenticare il conflitto che va avanti da due anni e mezzo
DALLE GUERRE AI DIRITTI LGBTQ+ - Ma c'è anche un'altra guerra che i Coldplay non dimenticano: quella in Medioriente e hanno chiesto a Roma di mandare il proprio amore. "If you want peace be peace. If you want love be love", è la scritta che, ad un certo punto, scorre sullo schermo. Non è mancato neanche il sostegno ai diritti lgbtq+ con Martin che durante Human Heart si è avvolto nella bandiera arcobaleno
LO SPETTACOLO - Lo show, come da tradizione dei live dei Coldplay, è stato una festa di mille colori diversi, grazie ai bracciali distribuiti all’inizio. Planets, Moons, Stars e Home sono le quattro parti in cui è diviso il concerto. Si parte da Music of the Spheres per poi passare a Higher Power, Adventure of a Lifetime. IL MESSAGGIO D'AMORE PER ROMA - Prima del concerto, ieri pomeriggio la band su X ha postato un messaggio: "È passato molto tempo dall'ultima volta che abbiamo suonato nella Città Eterna, ma siamo pronti a recuperare il tempo perduto con quattro spettacoli sotto il sole romano. Non vediamo l'ora di iniziare"
