VIDEO DESCRIPTION
1) first you're going to mix your epoxy resin part a & part b together
2) then you are going to add all the glitters that you would like for your jar
3) after mixing both resin and the glitters together, you are going to let your cup of resin sit for a period of time (I waited 30 min). You want to wait until the resin is warm to the touch through the cup. Waiting to pour your resin allows the resin to become thicker and thus allows the resin to be able to support the weight of all of your glitter and not allow it to sink to the bottom. It also allows micro bubbles to float to the surface of the resin and pop.(((Watch out for resin exothermic reactions, which happen when resin gets too hot and cures too quickly!!!)))
4) before you pour the resin into your mold, first spray a little bit of 91% Isopropyl alcohol
5) pour a little bit of resin into your mold Do Not fill the mold!
6) gently tilt the mold to incorporate the resin on the surface. You are then going to use your index finger and the palm of your hand, and gently massage the resin into every little crevice in the mold. Repeat the process of spraying isopropyl alcohol and adding more resin until your mold is full.
7) allow the resin to cure for its appropriate time, and then demold

Hi! Love the video and the result! ❤ I didn’t quite understand why you have to use the Isopropyl alcohol…? To avoid the bubbles? Do you usually spray on all the forms in your projects? Also, do you use the heating mat to cure your batches for 30 mins? Thanks! ☺️

I use Isopropyl for a couple of reasons. Its mainly to pop bubbles and to help prevent surface bubbles on the cured resin piece but and it also helps guide the resin into all the threads in the lid & jar. Resin is self leveling so I have found when I spray the alcohol first the resin is “drawn” to the alcohol and fills into all the hard to get to spots. I always use Isopropyl on the mold surfaces and I spray the resin surface when its sitting in the mold. The heating mat is used depending on what the room temp is I’m in. In the winter months I typically turn the mat on first, place molds on it to heat them up, mix the resin, and let it sit on the mat until the resin cup is warm to the touch. Usually its 15-30 minutes depending on how much resin I made (more resin in the cup heats up faster than less does). Just watch out for an exothermic reaction! That can happen if your resin heats up too much and it will get super hot, smoke, and cure in minutes. Timing is everything with resin so I don’t recommend mixing the resin and walking away❤
