The fine folks at Let's Resin recently unveiled some really cool new silicone molds, so I -- of course -- had to get some and try them out. This video started with me pouring two molds and trying the "petri method" with alcohol ink, and eventually ended with 5 molds of all different styles, including, of course, glitter! It was a lot of fun to make these and unmold them. My only true regret was not pouring the final skull mold all in one pour (I stupidly didn't mix up enough resin). The deep casting gods were with me on this project... for the most part.

I love Swirls! Mostly swirls of color, but really any swirls at all - I think they add a beauty and grace to everything. So after I started making soap a few years ago, and needing some sort of biz name that didn't sound like everyone else's version of suds-r-us, I decided on Luxinda Swirl. Luxinda is a twist on my real name, and I quickly started putting swirls of color in all of my handmade soaps.
Now I'm branching out a bit, and I want to keep adding swirls to everything I do!
