Check brazilian journalism, it's insane. They take sides and do stupids questions just to maintain their speech. To be honest, just check brazilian ex-convict (currently president) pretending he didn't get the question, but it was a portuguese journalist asking in PORTUGUESE, when he was in Portugal. He was just avoiding, so he didn't have to answer some shady stuff...

I doubt that Musk was trying to put the "BBC-guy" in his place. Musk would rather spend his time talking with people who have something new to say whereas this is the epitome of a BBC employee, only interested in criticising and attacking anyone who isn't explicitly "of the left", speaking in an accent which was unknown to English people pre-Tony Blair. Also, it's a very itchy interview. They both do a lot of scratching, especially ""BBC-guy" with his spare hand.

Agreed. All of the questions the interviewer asked were to make Elon look bad. When the interviewer did not get the answer he wanted, he continued to try to push Elon to get the answer he wanted. When it didn't go his way, the Interviewer would immediately go with the next question, with some crappy excuse. Whenever Elon brought up any positive accomplishments, it was completely overlooked by the interviewer.

Yes, Elon is one of the most authentic leader in the world today. He is known to sometimes goof around and he has made some mistakes, but in every big decision he makes in business and his career it is consistent with his personal values. Not like most billionaires and political leader. Some say they stand for one thing, but their actions betray them. Some stand for nothing and do nothing. Have you seen a Mark Zuckerberg interview? It makes you wonder if he’s just so careful of his words because he’s afraid of legal implication, or if he really has nothing to say. But then if all his interviews are just hours of his rambling about nothing… then maybe it’s because the well is really just empty.

I mean, that's a bit dishonest about the interviewer. He's clearly not the sharpest tool from the fact that he didn't rapidly pick up on the fact that Musk is an absolute buffoon without the faculties to even engage in serious conversations. So, calling the interviewer a 'real smart person' doesn't reflect the situation. It's more like a somewhat smart person.

Thank you for posting this. The BBC totally butchered the interview and only showed clips in an extremely biased manner. Not to mention how unprepared and biased the interviewer was. Instead of seeking information to report he kept asking questions in a “gotcha” manner. Just truly shameful reporting on behalf of the BBC.

@@chaschristiansen SpaceX isn't humiliating nasa. Nasa is funding spacex. Nasa has simply shifted from building rockets to building equipment. With nasa's budget being slashed so badly over the past decades it is no wonder why they do that. A private business operating for profit will always be more efficient than a large government organisation that is burning billions of dollars anyway. Likewise, a private business operating for profit likely won't pursue building telescopes or rovers unless there is an expectation of profit, which there currently is not. If that changes and you somehow start making money off rovers and telescopes, you will likely once again see Nasa shift its priorities and said equipment being manufactured more efficiently.
