I remember seeing this show on the USA Network back in the day when they had that great afternoon game show block back in the mid 1980's- early 1990's. When TV and Cable watching was fun.
This is the second episode of the show, aired on USA Network June 30, 1987. Scott and Kate IIRC were the first champions and retired undefeated with $10,600. The middle of the third week of the show saw the show change to a two out of three match format, where the first team to win two Super Stumpers played the bonus round.
@@CanadasGameShows Marc Power does a wonderful RU-vid review of Canadian game shows called "Games O' Canada". You guys should check it out! Next month's review will be Love Me, Love Me Not.
@@CanadasGameShows If you look at the end credits for Bumper Stumpers you will see some names of the crew that also did the Night Walk series for Global from 1986-1993
I wish the clean master version of that theme music were to one day surface online. I have recently reached out to Wink Martindale to see if he might just have it.

Here would be the personalized license plate for Jack Barry: JOKRSYLD. If you can figure out that it says Joker's Wild, then you're ready to play Bumper Stumpers!!!!! And now, the driving force on Bumper Stumpers, Al DuBois!!!!!
It's certainly possible, because some have often felt that the inspiration for the Austin Powers music came from the theme song of the show 'Definition'
I used to watch this game show and if you look at some of the names in the end credits you will see some people who worked at Global on the Night Walk series
@@STO_1601 the whole part of the concern regarding the last license plate was that it was incomplete, not that we didn't know it. We all know what they're trying to say, we don't know the missing letters of this one.
@@RaginRonic According to a TV listings magazine which had listings for ATV, Whiz Kids aired on that station at 8:30 am AT on Saturdays. In Montreal, CFCF aired it at 8:30 am ET, also on Saturdays. I agree with you Ronic, it was indeed not the best time slot for a game show.
Really and they didn't even know it. They are trying so hard to make it where they don't get it. like the one where it they said it in bumper stumper and ex coffee drink ,was Rblt4ME. They need to get it together. lol
@@jeatig I watch a number of shows that aren't Fremantle, but it does seem like their programming consists of a more-than-healthy dose of Match Game and Family Feud. Hell I'm not picky. Just bring it to weekends for a couple shows. Then they can keep the FF/MG marathons during the week when I'm working.
@@Barnaclebeard Umm... i don't even remember what i was commenting on, but i definitely have my long A's and short A's mixed up, I pronounce it with a short A. i was prolly just really high when i typed my original comment, and i don't even remember how the Ramada was pronounced in such a way that sounded odd to me, and I'm definitely not re-watching this to jog my memory. My bad for being dumb.
At least one (Chain Reaction w/ Geoff Edwards) had none at all! The applause and the “awwww” were on tape. It was painful to watch. I believe in the US, Merv Griffin’s Crosswords also was like that. Cheeeeeep!
It definitely has/had a “play along” factor. Always a plus for me. And personalized auto tags have been the rage for decades now, so a reboot wouldn’t be out of line.
