With the KO power that we've seen from Paul in subsequent fights, it's easy to assume that this shot might have slept AnEsonGib if it landed clean anywhere between the temple and chin. We would truly discover his nasty power in the next fight, when he repeatedly dropped and horrifyingly KO'd Nate Robinson, an elite athlete who was a star in the NBA and played football growing up. Then he faceplanted Askren in the 1st, a guy who was a durable MMA champ and had survived strikers such as the destructive Robbie Lawler, and who was only knocked out by the nastiest running flying knee in history. Now he made Woodley into lumber, and people still hate on the guy. He had no ammy career and he's learning on the job. After his first handful of fights, he's literally knocked everyone out that he's ever faced, through a progressively-increasing level of opposition. His cardio is subpar, his footwork is still developing, his ring IQ is nascent, but he's displayed a solid chin, a decent level of heart, and a consistent ability to land his thunderbolt right hand. Removing his public persona from the equation, as a boxing fan (and not a subscriber to his channel) I don't understand what there is to hate about the guy's boxing career so far based purely on the data available.

Gib came a long way from this fight. He's redeemed himself now
