This year, I'm gonna take AP US History as you did, and instead of AP Lang, I'm taking Lit and Comp. I'm nervous, as I've never taken an AP class before. I hope it went well for you
Coming from someone who has taken AP for three years, I can say all these are very true. All I took was AP History classes and I do not regret it at all. Yes, it can be a pain to get through and a load of work but at the end it is so worth it because colleges are impressed with AP on transcripts. Ive taken 3 AP tests and they are absolute monsters but they are really worth all the trouble in the end.
Hey so I do all my homework and participate in class. But what brings my grades down especially for my 2 AP subjects is that I don't learn. I get too lazy to write and learn. Can you please give tips on how to improve learning skills
I'm in a regular U.S History course, and honestly the APUSH class looks so similar, aka meaning that it doesn't even seem tough whatsoever lol.. but I never took it cause I didn't like the teacher haha but i'ma take 3 AP courses next year -AP U.S Government -AP Spanish -AP Physics 1.
This upcoming year I am taking AP Psych, AP Stats, APUSH, AP Lang, AP Physics 1, Advanced Spanish, and Pre-Calc honors, but the school put me in advanced Italian as well because I didn't tell them I wanted to drop it so my schedule might be messed up and I might not be taking all 5 APs
Simply Satisfying that’s 7 classes? And then there’s gym so 8. You can replace electives for other core classes. I’m replacing an elective class for AP research. You can put any class in an elective class. That includes a math class.
Thanks for this video! I'm starting AP US History this year as a Sophomore so I'm a bit nervous, but I feel pretty good now and am looking forward to the experience.
Frankie C I’m going into my sophomore year this year and I’m taking AP US History. How was it? I’m pretty nervous and don’t know if I should switch down to take Honors History.
@@alliyah7386 Heya im taking apush this year I would also like to know how it was? ; - ; or ill just wait a year until someone else responds to me asking me how it was
+ Alahji Barry I used the Princeton Review book mainly and then the 5 Steps to a 5 book just for a couple of AP Psych topics :) I don't want to say the name of my high school since it'll disclose where I live but it's a pretty big public high school that has around 25 AP courses offered. I could take so many because I did a few online as well and also the school lets you do as many as you like as long as you have prerequisites. :)
+ Alahji Barry yeah of course! I took AP Micro and Macro, AP Biology, AP Human Geography, and AP Psychology online. I would definitely recommend taking humanities online- they are the easiest to basically self-study for since it's mainly memorization and the concepts are a lot more straight forward than in science or math :)
+INSANEcuber I used the "No Bull Review" prep book and the Princeton Review prep book- here's the link to the No Bull Review book on amazon: www.amazon.com/No-Bull-Review-History-Subject/dp/1514337509 Hope that helps!
+INSANEcuber It should be okay but I honestly recommend getting a newer version (2015 or 2016). The curriculum and exam for APUSH changed recently (I think 2014?) and the newer version for Princeton Review might be more accurate / have updated practice questions, but it's up to you - you should be fine overall if you study hard
HEY EVERYBODY! I'm a freshman going becoming a sophomore next year. I currently have AP Chem, and AP human geo. I also have a PLTW class, and I was wondering what I could do for these classes if you've had experience with them. I'm extremely nervous and I just need to be consulted about this situation.
I took some brainfoggled notes on the general tips (because though I'm not taking AP smthns, it helps with tests): You will take lots of notes. Hence, buy lots of notebooks, post-its, flash cards etc. Do take different kinds of notes for easier navigation. Mind maps great for sciences and history, Make lots of diagrams for biology. You must note as you go through prep books. Take notes so you're not overwhelmed on test day. Practice questions. Good rest on the day of exams. ✌️
gobears Her being smart isnt for you to be attracted to! Comment on her intellectual ability without demeaning her to just her sexuality. Fucking creep!
william saint baruc oh my god please chill it's a compliment I'm sorry but I'm sick and tired of people actually finding reasons to be offended by literally anything
Did I specifically mention her name? I was speaking on general terms! Please try to understand before you embarrass yourself with an ignorant comment such as yours! Thank you and have a wonderful night!
This upcoming year I signed up for 3 AP classes, AP U.S History, Ap Biology, and AP language. I’m considering dropping APUSH because of its reputation of being difficult and I don’t want to have an overwhelming year. I’ve only taken 1 Ap class( AP human geography) and I passed with an A-
In highschool my Junior and Senior year will be all AP practically if I get into the school I want. My first AP is AP government and politics and I’m kind of scared because I’m not as strong at Social Studies and English and Math and Science so I’m very scared lol
New AP classes (satire) AP Athletic performance-(gym) AP Dieting and eating science- (Lunch) AP Homework (Study Hall, but AP) AP Stress (Gives you unneccesary stress) AP Choral/Instumental music (Band or Chorus) AP Study Skills (Literally studying for the tests) AP Useless history (Learning about random events in history that are completely irrelevant and unconnected). AP Extestential Dread (Contemplating the use of your work and worth of your life) New in 2019-2020 School year
What book do you recommend for AP Psychology? I did a quick search and found Barron's, Myer's, or the 5 Steps to a 5. It would really appreciated if anyone could respond pls. Thank you!
What classes do you recommend for me, a freshmen? The only AP class I'm taking is Human Geography because it's the only AP class for freshmen that's available in my school but I'm going to apply for online school and I don't know what classes to take
Hey!! Love your channel, you're so inspiring. I was wondering how many AP exams should I self study for? See the deal with me is that I used to live in the US and completed my freshmen year , but I moved to Vietnam a few months ago. In my freshmen year, I took all preAP classes, and was set for taking AP World history and AP statistics. At my new school here, there aren't any aps because it's an IB system. But I really want to take the exams anyway. How many aps did you take during your sophomore year? I want to make sure I can be a prospective candidate when the college applications process comes around. Any advice for self studying for someone who has never taken an AP class before? Thank you so much. You really are such a role model.
I am a freshman and I need some advice on taking a English honors class I don’t know if I should take it or not. Great video very helpful thank you 👍🏽👍🏽☺️☺️
Christina Valladares yes take it! Honors classes usually do not require as much as AP does, I’ve taken several honors classes and they just expect you to be responsible and stay on top of your work. You will be able to handle it, and later on you can take AP if you want to.
Hello, i want you to answer me some questions i have about the AP classes, please. I would like to know: What time AP classes begin and end what time? Are AP classes daily? Are they after regular classes? Ap classes are given at school or elsewhere? Do they let a lot of homework? If yoi could respond my question i'd be really thankful 😁😁
Tell me if this is a good high school plan (I'm in a very competitive high school and am not very bright, you would be in the top if you went to my school) Currently I am a freshman with no AP classes, only honors (we call them Pre-AP here) I have all A's and will be able to manage those A's minus English, which is my weak spot. 9th Grade (What I'm currently taking) Biology Pre-AP English I Pre-AP World Geography Pre-AP Spanish III Pre-AP Algebra II Pre-AP Computer Science I Pre-AP Dance 1/PE (Dont' worry I'm only doing this to meet our graduation requirements, I'm not continuing with Dance) 10th Grade: AP Spanish Language & Culture AP World History AP Statistics AP Computer Science A English II Pre-AP Pre-Calculus Pre-AP Chemistry Pre-AP Self-Study: AP Environmental Science Summer: Speech (1st Session) 11th Grade AP Calculus BC AP Chemistry AP English Language & Composition AP US History AP Physics I AP Spanish Literature Computer Science III Honors Summer: Health (1st Session) 12th Grade: AP Biology (Labs) AP English Literature & Composition AP Macroecon/AP US Gov AP Art History Multivariable Calculus (Calculus III) Organic Chemistry Scientific Research & Design
Neha Joshi Don't take AP world history over the summer. 6 weeks is not enough time. Take it from me, I came into the class 4 months late & even tho history is my strongest subject it's taken me a lot of time to catch up. Use your summer for community service or, if you live in a state where health is a requirement to graduate, take that over the summer. I'm still in AP world history and from what I understand April is kinda the month to study up for the tests.
Dale Mcenany yeah I heard that it's a tough course and you can't cover 10,000 years over 6 years especially if you want to take the AP Exam. Thanks so much for your opinion, I've asked a lot of ppl in the last week and I've heard it's a bad idea so it seems like a lot of people agree with you. Turns out my school stopped offering the online summer option because people were cheating or something like that. Looks like I'll be taking WHAP next year!
+Neha Joshi overall this seems like a pretty good plan (I just read what you said about WHAP and I agree that it's too short of a time for the class). I haven't taken AP Spanish Lit yet (I'm taking it next year) but I've heard pretty good things about it- I'd ask around your school though. good luck!
Quick Tip: I highly, HIGHLY, advise against doing paper notes, flash cards, etc. for AP classes. Here's why: -Taking paper notes takes too long, and since most people take more than one AP class at once, your hand is going to be constantly strained and in pain. Paper notes get disorganized, you can't correct, change, or add new information easily, and you can't take them everywhere you go. Well, hypothetically you could, but I wouldn't recommend that. Virtual notes are so much easier, take less time, and are easily accessible from anywhere across the web for your personal use, and others, if you make it available. +Now, I know a lot of us prefer to write our notes, whether it be simply because we enjoy the act of doing it, the aesthetic of it (don't waste your time on aesthetic notes, you'll waste 10 years of your life away, I guarantee), or because we genuinely process the information better then when we type it. If you have the time and dedication, and prefer it, than write your notes, by all means. Personally, I type all my notes, and then write a summary and brief overview of my typed notes onto paper. -Programs like Quizlet, quizizz, and Kahoot! exist to be virtual cards right inside your pocket. Or, well, phone, but you get the point. You can use these resources on your tablet, phone, computer, laptop, etc. You can use them anytime, study in multiple different forms, from automatically generated tests using the information you input, games, or just old fashioned flash cards. I find that I study better when it's almost like a game, with the mindset of: "I want to win". Overall, for me, it just always came down to time. What's the best way I could utilize my limited time, process and store the information, and take notes while actively participating in the lesson? (If you have live lessons.)
Which AP classes did you take online and what websites do you recommend for online AP courses? Also, how much time per week did you dedicate to each AP course that you took online?
+Amanda S. I took APUSH, AP Biology, AP English Language, and AP Economics online. I used FLVS Global and Johns Hopkins and Online High School. I'd say I dedicated roughly 6-10 hours a week total for each class.
the problem is our school check your grades in freshmen and select you to take 5 AP subjects you get prepared until your senior year! its great but you can't choose what subject you want ! it literally pisses me off I'm a senior and I'm taking AP Biology AP Chemistry AP Physics C Mechanics AP Physics C Electromagnetism AP Calculus AB
+Guliter trash Those are all good AP courses! I'd recommend trying doing online AP courses but it's your senior year so idk if you still want to do that :) My school only let me take 2 AP courses freshman year and 3 sophomore year but I took 3 extra online :)
im taking AP Comparative Gov And Politics online what would you recommend to do for it? :'/ Idk helpppppp!!!! i really wanna pass the ap exam but idk what to do cuz no one is talking about it!. pls help me
Gonna take these next year: AP Biology AP Psychology AP U.S. History AP English Language Concurrent Pre-Calculus Honors Anatomy/Physiology Spanish I For senior year I'm thinking: AP English Literature AP Calculus (AB or BC, idk yet) AP Chemistry AP Physics 1 Microbiology Concurrent Intro to Sociology Economics Spanish II Wish me luck I guess
AP Lang is really hard but it’s so worth it!! Honors Pre Calc isn’t bad at all if you were good at Algebra II, and I absolutely LOVED honors anatomy and physiology, it was a lot of work but it was super interesting!!
+Destiny Tran I took it online :) And I'm pretty far advanced in math compared to the average student, but I'm still following a standard advanced math plan. And thanks!!
Hey, I'm in 8th grade right now and I'm planning on taking AP Bio and AP World Geo. What prep books should I buy or any other tips to help me not turn into a puddle on the floor?
@@lleah2839 I actually survived the class. Passed with the B in the class, but got a 2 on the exam. That class was pretty lab intensive, not gonna lie. Labs every week!
+ Axel B yeah you could definitely take only regular classes in high school if you wanted to. Your weighted GPA would be lower than if you took AP classes, but if you get straight A's then your unweighted gpa would be the same even if you took higher level courses.
what do you suggest for taking the AP Lang test based on 2 months of self study because my teacher is biased against the AP exam and doesn’t teach for it?
Hey I'm taking apush next year and i wondering if you still recommend the same books for 2017. I'm definitely getting Princeton review but is there any other books I should be aware of?
Great review! I will be taking ap microeconomics only this year with flvs and I'm super scared as its my first ap course. What do you recommend to atleast get a 4 on the ap exam?
+ 54321dheeraj Overall, the FLVS course will not sufficiently prepare you for the exam- make sure you buy either the Princeton Review or Barron's prep book (both are great) and then learn it by heart- alszo try to do at least 3 practice tests before the exam.
+ 54321dheeraj For me personally I found Micro a bit more confusing in the beginning but overall once you get the hang of it they're both pretty straightforward. I'd say they're an 8 out of 10 difficulty if you don't study, and pretty easy if you do. I love economics though so I might be a bit biased :)
I’m stressing for next year I’m taking all honors and Aps -hon french 3 -hon pre-cal -ap English language -ap physics -apush -ap enviromental science -ap physiology
Thanks for your tips!! Was the AP micro and macro class hard online? When you take a class online do you give the AP test at the same time in May. I am kind of freaked out because I'll be taking AP Lang, apush, AP chem and AP environmental science. I took 2 last year.
+Uzma Edhi Honestly the actual classes were medium toughness (pretty hard but not unbearable) but in comparison the AP exams and the prep books were super easy so that's good. When you take a class online you take the AP exam in May like everyone else, so there's not a difference between an online student and any other student when it comes to the AP exams. :)
AP chem can be pretty tough. just make sure to spend extra time on that one. make it a priority to thoroughly understand the subject, do a bunch of extra practice before tests and don't be afraid to get help. this will make preparing for the ap exam much much easier. but even if you kinda wing it like i did you might be fine too lol.
A bit late but question where do we fit in Ap classes? for ex if i have chemistry freshmen year i take ap chemistry the year after? do i have to take the actual class before ap? and do i take the normal class and the ap class or can the ap be the major course? sorry for the questions
What state did you school in bc I am at Denn John in Fl and I am taking 10th grade classes and even though I a. 2 years early I am familiar with most of the classes but I am drowning in work
+ Hunter Z ok haha good to know :) I'd say it depends on how well you think you can handle AP classes. If you're not so great with the load, or your school gives an absurd amount of homework, maybe then 2-3 classes. If the load's not too bad and you think you can handle it then maybe try 4-5.
I'm taking apush (and psyc - was there any books you bought) this following school year and I was wondering if I should buy the 2016 PRINCETON or the new 2017 ??
+Emily Chee I'd honestly recommend buying the 2017 one just to feel mentally comfortable knowing you have the latest version. I did see some small differences between the 2015 and 2016 versions of APUSH and I used the 2016 version and got a 5, so I'd just say go with the latest version :)
ap classes can be taken after you finished to normal credits in that class?? like if u want to take a ap in science first you have to finish regular credits required in that field ?? if you've to take ap bio first u have complete 6 science credits ?? right?
i want to be a cardio-thoracic surgeon. What AP classes should I take? Also i want to get into stanford so how many AP classes should i take? I really what to crank my GPA up to 4.0
