@megzcreates It would be really helpful for me and probably other upcoming freshmen if you can create a video on how classes like AP’s, Honors, etc even work. I feel dumb to say that I barely know anything about it and as an upcoming freshman soon going to the best challenging school in the city idk what it will be like. I didn’t even get to choose what classes i get to take except for electives which will be decided by them by my options. Can someone help me understand and learn better on how it will work 😭
I’m planning on 3 Aps (Ap World History, AP precalc, ap comp sci a) sophomore year and uhm, I never really studied before because I just kinda aced everything (except English but we don’t talk about that) so- ahahaha, I’m gonna have to force myself to work. Yay….
my current plan is: 2 honors frehsman year, 2 ap sophomore year(and 2 honors), 3 junior year(and 2 honors), and 3 senior year(and 2 honors). is this good, i dont do many good extracurriculars, i work 8 hours a week. i ma currently doing apush as a sohomore and its too much for me. its like 4 hours a night just for that class.
Honestly I think that's a bit much because sports require a large amount of time after school with practice and games and stuff, but if you can manage, go for it!! :D
Hey, I say it is totally possible, takes a bit getting used to in regards to feeling, mental health, and consistency, but over time you will adjust to the load. At first, do expect to fail, but coming back from that failure will benefit you so well in the future. Do not, not do it because you think you are going to struggle, do it because you will struggle and because it is hard, doing the hardest things earns passion and a tougher heart at things, at life really. Good luck! And stay on top of it
@@nuriyah79might be too late but I did 5 aps this year (calc ab, bio, phys 1, world, and seminar) and did cross country, track, and marching band sophomore year. It wasn’t that bad but my grades dropped a little, if you have a better work ethic than me (not hard to do) then you’ll be fine
twin, im doing 2 in 9th, 5 in 10th (but it might be 4), 5 in 11th, and 5 in 12th 11th and 12th def might change but 9th: AP US Gov and AP Environmental Science 10th: AP World History, AP English Language and Composition, AP Physics, AP Precalculus, AP Music Theory, but I might have to give one of them up, probably physics or precalc, to fit into my schedule
I'll be doing 3 sports in HS, currently doing 2 in middle. Do you think I could manage to convince them to let me do like 2 or 3 instead of 1 in freshman year?
i wasn't able to take any ap classes this year (sophomores are only provided history and i hate history) and i plan on taking ap bio, chem, MT, sem, and lang next year.
hey idk if you’ll see this but i he a never taken any ap classes and im going into junior year next year and want to take some. I really regret not taking any but i feel like i’m just finally starting to take school more seriouslyz i’ve been stressing out about what classes to take next year and i rly need advice. so i have set a temporary schedule so far and my AP classes would be -Normal honors classes like math and spanish -AP Goverment -AP Bio -and then two classes at a local community college i play sports and stay decently busy so i’m just a little worried if this is too much. ik everyone says ap bio is hard but i want to go into the medical field and feel like it would help. i always kept an A in honors bio but ik that’s no comparison. what would you recommend me do? i’m not sure what clases i should change if any but please give me your genuine advice i need it!!
I am currently a sophomore and only taking one AP, and that is AP European History. Last year as a freshman I took AP Biology (this literally shocks everyone since I was allowed to take one of the HARDEST AP's as a freshman) but I LOVED it. I am also going into the medical field and planning on being a surgeon, so I think my passion really helped me enjoy the class. In my entire life AP Biology was my all time favorite, and I had an amazing teacher so that was a plus. Personally I would say AP Euro is 5x harder then AP Bio, biology just came almost naturally to me and I didn't have to put in much effort to memorize concepts. Since you plan on going in the medical field I would definitely recommend it. I am also a 3-sport athlete and I was able to manage the work for bio and my other advanced classes pretty well. I think AP Biology definitely made me realize that I want to major in Biology in college, and I will forever be thankful that I took it as a freshman, I passed the class with a 98 and got a 3 on the exam. I was hoping to get a 5 all year but I honestly wouldn't change my experience with the class for the world, it was truly eye opening for me as to how much I loved the human body. I hope you didn't change your mind about taking it, and if you are taking it right now how is it going? I hope this helped you, and I really loved responding to someone with the same interests as me :)
@@randomthings1927hi I know I’m responding late but I’m also wanting to take AP bio next year for junior year what kind of assignments do you do and what do you get for homework ?
I’m taking 7 through hs, freshman: 0 sophomore: 2, ap pre-calc and ap psych junior: 3, ap chem ap bio and ap calc a/b senior: 2, ap spanish and ap physics. For context, I want to be a surgeon and math is my strongest/favorite subject :)
@@nuriyah79 not in it till next year, but I’d guess it just depends how good you are at math. I think I’ll find it easy, but I’m also a huge math person.
hi manolo, which are you self studying? my ap list rn is : ap us hist, stats, psych, n ap lit. in my senior year, i'm taking ap calc ab, ap lang, n ap gov
@@bambi6014 Hey so im going to take ap gov, ap stats and apes and self studying appsych and also aphug since my 8th grade year the counselor failed to notify all of us about ap classes and by the time I knew about ap classes it was done to switch. But it is all good bc i am really interested in history and wanted to take most of the ap history classes as possible bc at my school ap world apush apgov and aphug is offered and can get me a sash so that is my goal
@@bambi6014 I would have taken aplit since i took aplang but my aplang teacher had taught us 0 to nothing where I was screwed on the ap exam since most of the materials i had to learn on mh own and by the exam i was writing my first argument
@@bambi6014 For apush a friendly reminder pay attention this class can either be hard or easy and that is up to u. I personally liked it since it was my fav subject but keep this in mind the cold war was not a physical war but more of a political war
I'm really surprised that you only spent a thousand dollars for all of the exams. Because I study in Turkey and in our school we pay 100 dolars for the exam + extra 300 dollars for teaching. Because our economy is really bad in these days it becomes very pricey to even just take 1 AP class. However I'll try to self-study.
@Studded watch Heimler’s history, that guy is an absolute g. He does overviews of topics and makes it far less boring. He also does end of year livestreams of each topic section and helps answer questions.
@@NEbeliever Did that for every test had a 94 average in the class and watched the overview on the topics but I believe where I went wrong was on my dbq and that it was not that strong. This was in apwh
