@@kayking3313 ESA (Empowerment Scholarship) is available to families in Arizona. The state will give you funds to go towards homeschooling your children. I believe other states now have something similar, but it depends on your state and what the qualifications and restrictions are.
@@PursuingPeace thank you for the quick reply! Ok. I'll have to look into it for our homeschool. Definitely good to know! Also, thank you for sharing your very real day in the life experience! I was so encouraged by your message at the end and the bloopers gave me a good laugh too! 😁 You and your family are so precious!!❤
I completely understand you Dina! My oldest is 12 yrs old and my youngest are twins they're almost 2 years old this school I had a 5th grader, 4th grader, 2nd grader, and preschooler. Theirs a time where your child will no longer want to nap or cuddle with you. Sometimes I feel like a football player trying to get a good hug from them 😂 but it's all worth it at the end of the day. Thank you Dina for a raw homeschool day ☺️
Thank you for this. Fighting over who gets to sit next to Mom, meltdowns, sibling squabbles... We need more *real life* homeschool day-in-the-lifes. I am encouraged, and I so appreciate your ministry!
Oh Praise God Stephanie! We're all in the same boat with imperfect kids, imperfect parents, and imperfect schedules. We can comfort each other in knowing we're all the same but we have a LOVING Savior who's got it all under His control. ❤❤❤
Yes! I have an 8 year old and a 20 month old. The struggle is real. We don't do much until my littlest naps. It's refreshing to see that homeschool doesn't have to mean cramming as much as possible in one day. I have battled so much with myself about the thought "did I do enough?"
I could feel my home in your video. My kids fighting, a kid fake sleeping, the moment where mommas mind and spirit are needing refilled by God, and then the appreciation for the day ❤️❤️❤️❤️ How blessed are we?!
I loved this video so much. I’ve never watched such a raw unfiltered Homeschool video like this. I really appreciated the depth of realness your kept in here for us. Even through all that was going on, I admired how you kept your cool and showed a lot of love and kindness to your kids and they likewise showed to each other.
I have to admit that finally seeing your kids be loud and crying and interrupting in this way made me so happy, lol! I've been following you for three years now, and while I absolutely love you and your encouragement and peaceful voice, I often have a hard time not comparing my kids to yours. I feel like my kids are the exact opposite of yours. Yours seem so calm, obedient, and love learning. They sit quietly and do all that you ask of them. I sit down to teach my kids and they are loud, wild, disruptive, hate learning, and seem to do anything to make me pull my hair out so I'll give up and go take a nap instead, lol! I see now that yours are a lot like mine, and you look just as tired as I do halfway through the day. Yay! 😂 That gives me hope that I'm not doing as bad as I sometimes feel and that we're all going to be just fine, just like you and your family. ❤
Oh Praise God! You and so many others like you are the reason I made this video! My kids and my homeschool are just like everyone else's. I honestly believe that if I (an imperfect mom with imperfect kids) can do it....ANYONE can do it! God gives us grace for every moment. ❤
Real life momma thank you for sharing. I've been homeschooling since my oldest of seven kids is 40. I have been homeschooling my grandchildren now I have 5 right now and it's hard days but fulfilling. I just love the closeness I have with all my children and homeschooling 14 out of my 17 grandchildren. Life is full and goes by way too quickly. Your children are adorable Bless you all!
After a rough day of homeschooling today and wondering why I’m still doing this… this video has encouraged me greatly to keep on going. Thank you for showing us your life and how you tackle your days. May God always bless you & your family!
Thank you so much for the realness of this homeschool day!! Our days look similar! And the way your daughter holds your arm when she comes out of her room 😍 so sweet
Dina, this video blessed me. Thank you for sharing a real ditl of homeschooling. I am encouraged to know my “chaos” is normal, to be expected, and honestly to be embraced. Sending you and your sweet kids love. ❤
Thank you so much for keeping this video real. It's easy to want to cut out all the tantrums but this gives me courage that I can homeschool my babe's and that it's ok to not look perfect.
Dying over here! "I wear my hair up in a bun so much that my kids draw me with my hair up in bun!" My kids do the exact same thing!!! Love it hahaha. Glad I'm not alone 😂
This is my favorite homeschool day in the life video! I love that you didn’t just show what your kids are doing for school but also everything that was happening around the house while they were doing school! Thank you for the honesty and love all the bloopers ☺️
Thank you for sharing this! 🙏 Glad my kids are similar to others as well 🤣 This gave me a lot of hope and encouragement to keep going, even through the tough times 🤗
Loved your vlog, Dina! I started my kids doing the timed math too! One way that I quickly correct the problems is read off the answers while my child looks at them. They’ll stop me and put an x on any they got wrong. But your picture idea is great too!
I appreciate you showing more realnessnot because you faked before; I think you truly care about your viewers and not feeling like they need to live up to something that doesn't exist. You still persevere and continue to do hard work all deal with the Chaos and fighting and resistance. Thank you again. Because I try really hard and the enemy can lead me to believe it's just my kids and I'm not working hard enough to parent them and teach them. Kids still sin.
Thank you for being real. I so appreciate this! We switched to Math with Confidence half way through this year, and it has been so helpful for my daughter. She absolutely loves all the games. Total game changer for us.
Praise God! It has really helped my boy too. I didn't realize just how much he had missed and I had just assumed he knew. I'm so grateful we have the freedom to adjust is something isn't working. ❤
I'm so new to homeschooling we haven't even started yet 😆 Our family will have our first day of homeschool on July 31. I have felt so overwhelmed and crazed in the planning of everything (sometimes it can almost feel like there are TOO many resources out there!) but I keep coming back to your videos because they always bring me so much peace. I've watched a ton of videos here on RU-vid, but yours in particular have been so encouraging and life giving for me ❤❤ Thank you thank you thank you!!
Oh Praise God Mallory!!! I'm so happy to help in this small way. I hear ya' on the TOO many resources. It's hard to have JUST what you need. Have you read the book Teaching From Rest by Sarah MacKensie? It's a great reminder of resting in His grace.
Hi Dina, regarding you needing to get the bowls for your little ones - I used to have it high up in the cabinets until I have learned from a RU-vidr, not sure which one: PUT ALL CHILDREN STUFF IN A LOWER CABINET WHERE THEY CAN EASILY REACH IT!!! Wow! Was this change in a life! Which also meant: they can unload ALL their dishes from the dishwasher!!! Try it out.
Hello. Love to hear you learn about South Africa. I'm from South Africa. We also do The Good and the Beautiful. Love how your kids are learning. Thank you for this video.
Love this! I soak up your videos so much I didn't even realize it was long til my little went to get a shower & she got out & said your still watching that same video? LOLOLOL love the bloopers too! can I ask where you got those timer cubes? im sure you have them listed somewhere....
So incredibly thankful for your video. This was such an encouragement to me. Thank you for sharing your day with us. All your children are all just so precious.
Thank you so much for this. I have never commented on any video ever but this video truly filled my homeschool mom cup. Please keep making videos. You and your family are absolutely amazing. I saw my family in this video. Thank you for being so honest and real.
This is my favorite video by far! Glad to see I'm not the only one who has to deal with story time drama. Lately it's been a struggle to get through read alouds🙄 Also noise canceling headphones are genius!
Thankyou fir sharing a real homeschool day in the life. I really appreciate how you kept all the real clips in. It was so encouraging because it shows im not alone, others are doing hard things like me . Thanks again for all the work you put into filming it and editing it. I especially like the words you shared at the end! So good.
@@PursuingPeace I had a question for you, I was looking to see if I could grab the curriculum to do at home instead of in a community so we could learn the songs and such that you had showed from CC. I see that I can order the foundations curriculum (where my kids are age wise), but I am so confused on what all would I need? I saw that the CD's were discounted! But just lost on overall what we would need to get to get the kind of lessons. We aren't interested in doing in person because our area it's not known to be a very welcoming group, sadly, and we can't fit it into our schedule with our weekly special needs appointments. Would you be able to share with me links to what to grab?! Thank you if you can. But if you can't, thank you anyway!! LOVE your videos!! We also have an ESA here in FL for our special needs children!! We are also a military family! My husband is Air Force :)
Hi ... I love your video. I am trying to do Geogrpahy ... can you make a seperate video on how you do it? Also a lunch menu would be so helpful too. Thanks and God bless you
Hi Dina. Thank you for this video. Your children are so cute and real. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with us. Ps I love how everyone wants to cuddle with mama ❤
This seems so much like our school days💙 I’m turning around to look at a different assignment and calling out for the smaller ones to go find something better to do than their current idea😂 You’re doing well!
I'm so happy the "realness" came through! Sometimes it's hard to show the real because that's when you put the camera down to take care of it. I'm so happy this has been an encouragement. ❤️
I absolutely loved the songs! Do you have a video for song resources for learning? My daughter gravitates to music and does great learning that way. I have subscribed to cc happy mom but I was hoping for more song resources!
We are new to Arizona and use ESA as well. It has been such a blessing! I so wish we were closer and could get our kids together, you have such a sweet family! Thanks for the honest day in the life 😊
@Pursuing Peace Maricopa 😊I think last time we talked you were quite a bit more south then we are. Even though I feel like we are pretty far from everyone already out here!
This video makes me feel right at home. Momma thanks for sharing ❤😊this is so amazing: I love how you respected your kids along with showing the beautiful crazy ❤ we have a carbon copy of “activity and energy” here at my house ❤
How helpful and comforting. I never thought to have my kids learn my phone number. I only have 3 kids 6yr, almost 5yr and almost 2yr and one of the younger ones is just about always crying during school for my oldest. It is very disheartening. It’s nice to know I am not doing anything wrong.
I love this with a absolute passion. This is literally what it is in my house of 4 boys every day 😂 glad we are normal!! Do you by any chance have a schedule layout for each of the kids like you used to in the past? Visually that really helps me kind of understand how to organize the subject for all my kids so i can understand how we can get through them in a week with multiple ages 😅🙏🏻 Do you go off of time you start and scheduled subject switches?! Thank you for all your help and time!! I love your channel so much.
I loved it!! Thank you fo sharing the realness with us ❤ I especially loved your symposium time my kids were very into it while I was watching. Is that available for purchase somewhere? Do you recommend it for 1st graders?
HI Nashda! Do you mean the book or the memory work? I have the book linked in the description box. Old World Echoes. The memory work is from Classical Conversations. I can't share the little flipbook because it's all copywritten material by CC, but you can get the CC app and it has all the memory work in there.
This is awesome! Thank you for being inspiration in our 1st year of homeschooling and now I am excited for our 2nd year. You mention about ESA funding what is that?
I'm so happy I could help Debbie! ESA is an educational scholarship in Arizona. The state of AZ gives us funds we can use for educational purposes if we are not in the public school system.
I love this video so much! It helped me structure my first school year where 3/4 of my babies are going to be doing school with me! Side note: how was the yes day???! How did you form the boundaries and spending limits 😅🤣 My kids want a Yes day
Lol! It went pretty well. Nothing over 100, nothing in the future, nothing outside of 50 miles (we live in a small town). The kids made up their own rules and we're pretty good about sticking to them. 😁
It was actually a gift a couple of years back. But I think my friend got them at Staples. You might be able to find it on Amazon too. I would look up "cube timers". Hope this helps!
do you do ipads or TVS for quite time after the school chaos and feeling overstimulated? this always makes me feel guilty but its what i need most days LOL. I just know if they were in school they wouldnt be watching tv and i feel terrible
Don't feel terrible mama! I do TV if my brain gets too overwhelmed and I need some quiet. I try to limit it to 30 min though. We also have quiet time after Symposium time so mama can recuperate. Lol!
I thought I had replied to this but I guess I didn't. Sorry if you get 2 replies. They were a gift from a friend a couple years back. I believe she got them at Staples. I think you can find them on Amazon too...or something similar to them. Hope this helps!
Hi Kaitlyn! We try to start around 10am. We break for lunch around 1pm. Then we do Symposium from 2pm to around 3pm depending on what we're doing that day. So all in all, (not including lunch) it takes us about 4 hours to do school.
