There's not much I would change about the main house, just some superficial stuff & cleaning. If Bea isn't totally into billiards, I'd put the pool table in an outbuilding (convert to home bar/entertainment center), not the main house... it takes up a lot of space & there's no escaping that (& I love pool, but not everyone does). lol 😆
What a difference from the barn project. Such a different landscape and climate. I would recommend you keep the fridge door open until you can turn on the power. Fridges, although they look clean can still get a musty smell if they have previously contained food.
That’s a wonderful house. It doesn’t need much work to freshen it up. It’s going to be so comfortable for you two. The whole property is so awesome and you will enjoy bringing it all back to life.
What a fantastic home and, you’re right, it really is all cosmetic. I would die for that kitchen and all the things they left you. IMO, your home will be wonderful after you two work your magic! That blue and white bathroom is a happy room. I love the brightness and how fresh it looks and I’m not normally a white wall person, lol. All very doable and fun projects. Congratulations!!
We moved from years living in Italy back to the states. We bought one of these solar generator by ecoflow. We had to use it when we got hit by a hurricane….we are so glad we spent the money for this home saver!

the kitchen is very big, so you will be able to put a table for you to eat there... and have your pool table as you wish! i had already seen the video in patreon, but i also wanted to see it again. Love to Bea, hope to have her back and her amazing smile again soon.

Great house, fantastic property and tour! What a huge change! When you finish the five acre restoration, it would be a fabulous get away rental for a week or several weeks! Honestly it will be great to see you all happy and settled, and with total comfort in a couple of years!

So much potential! Great, sturdy, house. Suggestion - I'd skip the chest freezer in the entry way under the stairs. Some kind of a mini wine cellar, storage cabinet would look so pretty.
lovely place for you both and plenty of jobs to get stuck into, good thing being that it’s a liveable space as is inside the house once utilities are in, then you can take your time to do things as and when you want to. Exciting stuff!

It certainly is a lovely house, with all that land you could build a large adjoining entertainment room with pool table, spa and set up your scale electric set. If it ws me I'd keep the outside patio clear with no TV just a lovely long wooden table and chairs for eating with family and friends. You both need space and need to breathe, to unwind after working hard during the day. You seem to want to crowd everything together. You are so very lucky that the fire never touched the house, this is your clue as to how to protect anything you build or restore in the future as this is the new climate for our world from now on so be prepared. Well done Theo and Bea, just take your time and plan well beforehand. 💕🇦🇺
Theo, the bathroom tiles can be painted with tile paint, since they look in good condition. It's pricey, but less trouble than replacing. Toilets, tubs, sinks can also be painted.
I like the bathrooms. When in portugual embrace portugual modern. I especially like the blue and white bath. Not telling you what todo but it is already nice. Best wishes to you ab Nd bee and your dream home.

As an Australian I particularly love the big verandah with all its fantastic amenities, I can easily imagine a gathering in full swing out there. WE HAVE WATCHED ALL YOUR PREVIOUS videos and what just springs to mind is that you are a pair of absolute grafters who have traversed the difficult bridge to relocating to a new country by nothing more than total commitment. What you guys have now is what you fully deserved. What a wonderful new adventure for you both. Cannot believe the amount of personal items left behind! We are at present in SW France and have been thinking about a "relocation". Without wishing to intrude into your personal finances how much, generally, did this new property cost you please?
