The best thing for the joint ouch is keep moving. It sucks but it will get better. Be careful with the estrogen, I tried it at the very beginning because I gave off enough heat to keep a crowd warm. It made me kind of nuts. Crying, temper flare ups and Very unhealthy thoughts. None of this was me so I stopped. But I hit menapause because I got old. What ever happened to the property you guys purchased in town? You do remember the the three level apartment type place with the attic and basement? We remember you got as far as the kitchen and bath then nothing. Long time views would like to know. Also, what is happening on '57 Acres' while you both are reworking this place?
I completely understand. I had a hysterectomy at 42 for the same reason as you. I would not take estrogen because we have breast cancer in my family. Today, I put in four gardens. With stone and dirt. Also, I completely planted them. I am 68 and just ignore the joint pain. If it gets severe, I take ibuprofen. I push myself almost every day.
Bea I think you are amazing and a very brave woman. I cannot believe how you are doing so much physical work. Please look after yourself. You had major surgery and I’m sure your body needs a lot of time to recover.the one good thing is that you are living I. A nice warm climate and I’m sure that helps both physically and mentally. Everything is looking Incredible, you are both working so hard. You are making massive changes and it just shoes what talents and determination you both have. Bea, you can plant Calla lily or aurum lily near the kitchen drain. They love the water, it doesn't matter if it is not 100% clean. Changing subject, I know how you feel with your muscle pain. I'm struggling too.

With all those big rocks, I'd say there was once another structure that sat beside the old barn, the flat sides of the stones tell me that, my father was a stone mason. I want to thank you about mentioning the menopause and what you are going through. So much is not told to women these days, Estrogen is very important, and too when older I have known women to take testosterone because of the severe heat flashes and mood swings. It can be so tough. Great to see everything coming along so well. Menopause specialist Dr. Haver on RU-vid stresses that estrogen is totally safe and prevents many diseases according to a new huge study. My own input from study and my own case is if you also take any drug that causes even mild chronic sodium loss long term you can get osteoporosis. I have found that eating carbohydrates and sugar increase glp-1 and trpv1 that stimulates FSH the main promoter of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG). With too much SHBG your estrogen is bound to it and cannot work to prevent pre osteoclasts from developing into mature osteoclasts and breaking down bone. Estrogen (E2) also counteracts pain by blocking the neuropeptide substance P (SP) that sends pain signal to the brain, and is a vasodilator that counteracts hypertension. When I went on the low carb diet my bone mineralization increased dramatically. Pain from any foods that contain the emulsifier carageenan is significantly lessened by E2 but obviously avoiding carageenan is a good thing. Try adding collagen l, ll, ll, V & X because collagen is a significant part of the non mineralized bone. My hip pain was drastically reduced with that collagen in addition to glucosamine.

Bee, there's several things you can try for your joints! Curcumin (turmeric extract) in capsules with some piperine is superb to keep inflammation down in the body. Magnesium bysglicinate at bedtime, collagen (delicious bone broth) and many herbs you can grow in your gardens can help.
