It sounds like you had an amazing time! I’m looking for a resort to celebrate an anniversary. This checks all the boxes except the beach looks a little pathetic 😬. The complimentary 30 mins photoshoot is a plus though. Do you know if it is only on the beach or is it offered around the hotel as well?
The beach is small but you can walk further down to your left and the beach is a lot better. And yes you can can have photos anywhere around the hotel :)
Hellooooo! Let us know below if you plan to go to Unico and if you have any questions - we will be happy to answer! We also have an affiliate link to book the hotel in our bio :)
@@jgcoker98 you’re more than welcome!! Masks in restaurants to walk in but can take them off as soon as you sit down and other than that, super chill 😊
Did you take a transfer directly from the Cancun airport to UNICO? I am going in February. Trying to understand how the transfer from the airport works, given the fact that its an hour away. Thanks, and great video!
Thank you 😄 our holiday was all inclusive so our transfers were included. It’s a pretty much a straight road from Cancún to unico so a transfer will be straight forward. Book before hand so it’s cheaper ☺️
@@GabbyandEthan we are booking the all inclusive straight through UNICO. I more meant like was the transfer easy to find at the airport? Are you in a car with someone else or like a bus? Just more wondering about the logistics from the airport to UNICO. And was the drive bad or did it seem to go by quickly? Thanks!!
@@DAgoodfella12345 ah sorry! So ours was arranged by Tui, the holiday package company, so it might be a bit different but yeah it’s easy to find, there’s people with signs up outside of the hotel with the hotel name at the entrance. They will ask for your name and then tick it off. Ours was a private transfer and went by quickly but it depends on time of day because traffic can get quite bad on the main road! Our transfer was efficient and I’m sure yours will be too x
@@GabbyandEthan sorry for all the questions! How was the beach at the hotel? We’re you able to get in the water? And were there stand up paddle boards or anything like that to rent at the UNICO beach? I very much appreciate the info!!
@@DAgoodfella12345 no worries at all, ask away! Beach is okay, not the best, quite thin. Walk further down to the left of the hotel and it’s gets much better and more beautiful 😍 apparently someone a while ago said you could rent snorkelling gear but when I asked they said you couldn’t! We took our own snorkelling gear. No paddle boards to rent I don’t think either
do you have any insight on the spa? I've looked online for the prices but I found a document saying you only pay a percentage. Thanks for the amazing video! cant wait to honeymoon here in October
Aw you’re welcome, you’ll love it! So yeah they offer 25% off but the price is still mega expensive so it didn’t make a difference to us and we didn’t use it. If you have the money to pay then it do it, it looked amazing but the price even with the discount is probably very top end of what you’d pay in the UK/US
Awesome! I have a question regarding the drone because I want to take one there in a couple of weeks. Did you have to get approval from the staff or have a permit to fly it? I’m just asking so I don’t get in trouble if I’m flying one.
Thanks! 😊 we flew by the beach and not directly above so we didn’t ask (Beach is public) if you want to fly above the hotel then maybe ask just to be sure
Great video! We're off to 2087 in about a week and can't wait! Did you have to tip much in the hotel and, if so, what currency did you use? Also, what was the mosquito situation like? Thanks!
Aw thanks yeah you will love it! We didn’t tip and they don’t force you to either! Some people tip their local host but ours didn’t do much for us because we were always out and about. Mosquito situation was fine! Hardly any bites. Think Ethan got 1 bite and it was very mild and he didn’t use any repellent. Take some repellent with you and see how you get on ☺️
Hello, thank you for sharing so much information. Will my cellphone still work over there? Do I need to do anything different with my service? How are the charging ports?
You’re welcome! We’re from the U.K. and we had wifi at the hotel, outside of the hotel I had to pay an extra £10 with my company to use my phone in Mexico. Charging ports in the hotel are fine. They have USB ports so most phones should be fine
So excited to go here next week! Is there a convenience store or similar on site to get snacks for your room, like crisps, sweets, drinks etc? That's a must part of any holiday!
There is a shop - think they do snacks but not sure. There is a mini fridge in the rooms that gets restocked with drinks everyday so that won’t be a problem! So jealous!! Enjoy your hol!
We are thinking about going here for our honeymoon too! Did you tip at all? And if you did - did you do it each day or at the end? How was it finding pool chairs every day?
We travelled out of the hotel everyday except the first and last day! Felt very very safe! Ethan can speak Spanish which helps a lot but as long as you know the basics for transport you’ll be fine. We got the bus which is cheap, easy and safe but If you’re a bit nervous then getting a taxi is an option but would get a little bit expensive! We are going to do a tips video soon so that might help you further 😊 let us know if you have any more questions!
Buses run on the main road outside the hotel, just look out for a mini bus and flag it down, it will pull over and just say where you wanna go and track the route on google maps, when you want to get off just say ‘aqui por favor’ and they will stop right outside where you want to be on the main road
@@Tarbjac mostly strict on it in restaurants, don’t need it outside, in the lobby, some wear it some don’t but no one told us off if we didn’t have it on
