The only reason why I’m replying to your post is that after I read Brother Breaker stating to pray for him, I decided to pray for this person, also, and I have NO idea as to why nor exactly how to pray for this person yet every time I pray for him, I get incredibly sad and weep. @@jen-jenfritz2188 Also, feel free to keep using the NKJV. That’s my main translation. I was “KJV-only” for quite a few years, then I did some more in depth research. The NKJV uses the same manuscript line as the KJV, but it’s modern language, much easier to understand than the KJV. So you sacrifice a tiny bit of accuracy, but you gain so much understanding. In my mind it’s like this: “the KJV is the best word for word, so accuracy, for the sake of the analogy let’s say it’s 100% accurate and 50% understandable. The NKJV changes some words, but is far more understandable, so I think of it as 95% accurate, 100% understandable. Which to me is a great trade. We really ought to be reading our Bibles while looking up the words in the original languages anyway. BLB, Logos, eSword, all three of these are great Bible softwares for your phone that can define all the original words with one click. Bible wasn’t written in english, so ANY translation loses some of the original meaning. And many words in the KJV have changed meaning since 1611. Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” Get a translation from the right manuscripts that you can best understand. The KJV & NKJV are Bibles from the right manuscript line. And the NKJV is far more understandable. God bless you.

Also there are many verses that the NKJV translates MORE accurately than the KJV. Like 2 Tim 2:15, the KJV says “study”, the NKJV says “be diligent”, when you look up the greek word being translated, it does mean to be diligent, strive hard, make effort, etc. Which is what “study” meant in 1611, but nowadays we mean something different when we say “study”. Just one example of how the NKJV is superior to KJV in some verses. There is no “perfect” english translation. They are all unique. BLB is a great app that I can’t recommend enough. You can click on a verse and see 20 different versions of that verse on one page. Hebrew and greek interlinears, word definitions, commentaries, lots of study tools to dive into the meaning of the original Hebrew & Greek manuscripts. The app is free. Check it out. @@VV01f13Agree. I think a variety of translations is best for getting the true meaning of any passage. KJV is great, but so is the NKJV, NLT. Those are the three I use the most.

@@kevinsheldrick917I don’t think pastor Breaker realizes that the NKJV uses the same textual basis as the KJV. It’s the only modern Bible that does. Exact same manuscripts as the KJV, just a modern rendering. Also in that very verse that he referenced (Matt 4:4 and Luke 4:4), the NKJV DOES say “…but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God”. So there that’s debunked. As far as the NKJV’s use of the Triquetra; all it takes is a 30 second reading from a wikipedia article on the Triquetra to find out that it was a symbol used by medieval scribes when copying manuscripts of the Bible between the 6th & 9th centuries. It has also been used by Christians during the Celtic revival in the 19th century. That symbol has various forms and various uses by many cultures from the 4th century BC until today, so his claim that it’s a witch symbol is dishonest, because he left out the 2,400 years of its use by many different groups. Please for your own good, do some proper research into textual criticism, modern translations are a blessing, and as the KJV translators themselves said a variety of translations is profitable for understanding the scriptures. Read the KJV translations to the reader, it totally debunks KJV-onlyism. They talk about how the people deserve to have a translation that they understand, in the common language. They talk about how the english translations before theirs were great and useful, and how their translation is not a final and only translation. I just encourage you to do your own research, and see that not all modern translations are “works of the devil”. There certainly are those, the Message, the Passion Translation for example, these are loose paraphrases done by one individual, they are nonsense and not even Bibles. But translations like the NASB, LSB, ESV, formal equivalence style translations done by a large team of scholars, these are solid and useful. God bless.

I'd say I agree with him probably about 90-95%. He had a LOT of good stuff! But, no one is perfect. About the "them..." IT IS talking about the WORDS and not the people. READ THE VERSE AGAIN! It says they will be preserved FOREVER. Are those people in David's day still alive today? NOPE! So, clearly, WITHOUT A DOUBT, the context is the WORDS being preserved!
