trading Tkaka was BEST move. they shouldve kept Goody but they are both also American, NHL got what they wanted, glorify American talent via Canadian teams. It adds value towards securing NHL fans in the USA market (and thats all the NHL has focused on for 30yrs now). The flames really screwed up their franchise and its not new. They struggled against Ducks for years and then against Oils. Signing Huby and Weegnar was one thing, then adding Kadri well they just dug a deep hole that wont be so easy to dig out of. Flames are done, team has to be dismantled and rebuilt including new coach...........and GIVE US BACK TOFFOLLI!!
Man such a proud moment. So glad we got a Canadian team heading to CF. I remeber watching every Habs game last yr plsyoffs and what it felt like. I really hope Oilers can finally break the Buttman curse n bring it back home!!!
A Canadian team will never win another Stanley Cup. Have you not paid attention over the last some years with Vancouver Edmonton Calgary Ottawa and Montreal going to the finals? They are allowed to go to the finals but the calls will always be one sided to do anything they can to keep the cup away from Canada. American teams need the cup for the fans to stay, Canadian teams don't
@@thebelizeaneh yes, I know and well aware. 40m Canadians vs 330M americans in a huge sports market where NHL struggles to maintain its market share against other leagues while hockey itself is expensive for american parents to invest putting their kids into hockey programs. The game and cup was sold long time ago. Been watching NHL since 80s. We ALL know the cup aint coming back here anytime soon, but hey, u never know man, every few years we sneak a team to SC finals and maybe 1 day b4 we die we get to see our cup come home!
Looking back on this series many months later, I wish it went longer. That being said, as an Oilers fan, it was very fun watching the Flames have a total meltdown.
My brothers actually got to watch this game in Calgary as Edmonton fans and took the drive out. Totally wish I went but the watch party in Edmonton was twice as electrifying as Calgary fans.
Not a flames fan Big time Oilers fan And I hav to say it’s going to be sad we won’t get another moment like this between Mcdavid and Gadreau Gadreau getting that overtime winner against Dallas really set the bar for him That first game was a tough loss and man fLames fans sure ran their mouths about it(they didn’t stop running their mouths til after game 4 lol) The bar was set for the first playoffs Battle of Alberta in a long long time This was intense and hockey at its best As much as I hate the fLames I give credit where it’s due Would have loved another playoffs BOA with Captain Connor Mcdavid and captain Johnny Gadreau 😢
Yeah my dad was bickering every oil fan he could think of.. I told him it’s only game 1 & We have to play them over & over again meaning the oilers would find holes in the flames defence & offence. It took them till game 2 to do so. Well played & it was fun to watch.
The swing of the door, the hand on the hip, the less-than-subtle confidence and pride - absolutely delightful from one side, probably agonizing from the other.
That's what I was wondering, you would think if he didn't join the handshake there would be a little more media coverage and I haven't seen anything. I definitely don't see himself though.
@kelseyticheler nope, that’s gudreau and some other flame. Not Tkachuk. Completely surprised the media hasn’t mentioned his lack of class and POOR sportsmanship
