I would give that to either the warriors GM, OKCs GM, or Celtics GM, I do have him as Top 5 though because he’s shown he can get talent. The thing is the rockets would’ve given up a lot of depth if they got Melo. The Knicks wanted a first rounder, Eric Gordon, Ariza, and Anderson in the trade. That would be getting rid of three key players in our offense and we would have to bet our lives on Melo producing 20+ points along with all of our role players breaking out. Anderson ariza and Gordon combined for almost 40 points last season which is a big chunk of our offense. So I’m glad we didn’t trade for Melo. Our offense got even better this season as you see that we are a much better 3 point shooting team then they were last year. Along with being a better defensive team. We are much more versatile. And we can still get to the WCF idk what ur on about.

Socially Awkward96 First, he's not the best (celtics gm is) but what else do you expect him to say about his staff/players? Second, you can't really blame him for the melo situation. The Knicks (from what I heard) wanted capella and gordan, so doing that trade would of probably made the rockets worse. He did the right thing holding out hoping that the Knicks would eventually lower their expectations imo, it's just unfortunate that melo was so determined to get out of the Knicks that he widened the list of teams he was willing to go to. You win some you lose some.

I don't know where you dumb fans come from. I doubt you guys are real Rockets fans. Just saying that so you can have credibility to down the Rockets' GM. Daryl Morey is a top GM in the game today, easily passing Presti. Presti benefits from a competition concept among GMs to never trade a Star player to a big or mid-size market like the Rockets especially if they are one piece away from being a superteam and got the depth and bench. Instead, they will try to ask for more which is is unreasonable....excactly what the Knicks did to us and still got an inferior package for Melo. Same with Indiana. They took Olidapio over Eric Gordon who is way more proven and a solid player than Oladapio. But because the Rockets was one piece away from a superteam and being in a mid-size market, they opt to go trade to a lesser organization like the Thunder. Most Star players wouldn't chose Okla. They'd definitely choose the Rockets, though. And that's what these GMs look at. Its borders on jealous as well. But in the game right now, the best GMs are the Rockets' and the Raptors.' The Celtics GMs is not a good evaluator of talent. I don't sse how they're any good. Just that the Boston Celtics namestake is the bigger draw than anything credited to their GM.

Kept in playoff contention all those years and turned that into harden and a almost yearly 50+ win team all without tanking at all. And now a team with 2 superstars and crazy depth. All without tanking. Just smart trades, smart signings, flexible contracts and smart picks(especially 2nd rd). Do u not understand how hard that is to do? Most teams just tank
