And old school metal finishing tip that you can apply: In the beginning, when you are pushing, stop and hole the pressure on, and gently tap on the crown. Dont hit it so hard you deform it, but tap gentile to "Nudge" it into letting go of its stress. Use a "slapper", or your metal hub cap hammer.

I'm going to dislike it on the grounds of creating tons of high spots while pushing from behind, I'd say about 80% of those high spots could've been avoided if he had been more careful and PATIENT. He just made a lot more work for himself by creating all those high spots that he had to knock down.

the light reflection makes a bend when it goes over the body line at the repair area. doesn't that indicate theres some locked up tension there that wasn't released?
@MrCbell57
@MrCbell57 Год назад
During the first massaging above crease you mentioned the area below came out on its own. Yet I clearly see marks where your tool also pushed this lower area outward. No big deal, but your comment was that it came out by itself. And as a collision repair tech I understand metal. So yes it would want to release as you massage the crease outward. However the marks left by your tool show a different story. So we’re you just wrong about what you said- or were you misleading your audience. However regardless you are a master at PDR and should continue doing training for beginners. Kudos to you and continued success. Once more however: I don’t know that anyone could actually learn these skills on an online course. Unless they have a clientele of dents coming in to practice on. If I believed it would help me I’d subscribe today as I want to add the PDR to basic body skills to try and speed up or save money on materials thereby earning more per hour. Thank you.
@RealWorldPDRTraining
@RealWorldPDRTraining Год назад
Well, I’ve got hundreds of techs that would tell you otherwise. It can be learned with guided practice that I have available on Real World. I’m not going to re watch this video to see what exactly you’re talking about, but I assure you I’m not misleading anyone.

@RealWorldPDRTraining
@RealWorldPDRTraining 2 года назад
PDR isn’t something that generally goes well for a DIY guy. I’d recommend finding a good PDR technician in your area. It takes years to learn this skill well enough to even repair moderate damage well. What you describe seems pretty extensive. It’s entirely possible you’ll make the damage worse and unrepairable if you try yourself. Sorry for the bad news, I’m trying to be honest here.

Instead of going smaller and smaller, could you go larger (like the hubcap tip, or some kind of roller) and sort of "burnish" the texture out?
@RealWorldPDRTraining
@RealWorldPDRTraining 11 месяцев назад
I think with a larger tip, especially like the hubcap you’re going to lose accuracy and also move a lot more metal than you’d like to. But hey, give it a try! Maybe you’ll stumble on something we should all be doing
@Crocodonkey
@Crocodonkey 2 месяца назад
At the finishing stage, how do we differentiate between those tiny lows and highs? How do we recognize them?
@RealWorldPDRTraining
@RealWorldPDRTraining 2 месяца назад
That’s an excellent question! Learning to read your light Is the first step to answering that. If you find yourself in a situation that you’re confused what you’re looking at, always grab your knockdown and even up what you know is high to start. Id strongly recommend hopping on www.realworldpdr.com I answer everything in depth there. New sign ups also get 100 dollars worth of Anson store credit so it’s risk free and then some!
