I jave no idea why you showed up on my timeline. Ive never jeard of you or your channel and i have no interest in oulling dents with glue, but your video was interesting enough that i watched the entire thing. Great stuff.
Just had some major hail damage repaired by a very good PDR shop in my area. Car looks as good as the day I drove it off the lot. I come from the 'bondo, sand, paint' era of body repair. What you guys can do with PDR techniques just amazes me.
@@GoneNForgotten dude, in one month you’re gonna be failing all over the place! Remember you’re learning more through failure than when everything goes perfectly
Great advise! We recent had a pop up hailstorm and dinged up both vehicles pretty good. They're both old enough that we aren't particularly concerned about looks but I'm going to attempt a little pdr! Thanks for the tips my dude 🤘
Hey Jim, great video, you are a master. Can you explain why you used a PADDLE and not a HAMMER, what is teh difference betwn teh paddle ad a hammer for PDR? I have seen other videos that use a hammer. Thanks
@@phototec thank you! So I prefer a paddle when using a knockdown, and a hammer for blending. Some people will use the side of their hammer as a paddle sometimes. One of my employees does this, and I’m not sure it makes a huge difference. Whatever you’re comfortable with. If you don’t yet know the difference or understand blending there’s some videos on my channel that’ll explain. Other times I’ll use a hammer as a knockdown…. It sounds much more convoluted and confusing than it is, but it’s really just about the tech and what they’re feeling in the situation.
People in these comments thinking they’re ready to tackle this is funny. I don’t think y’all understand the time, patience and skills required to execute a repair like this
Hey man, I’m done arguing with them lol. Every time I tell someone this isn’t a DIY skill, or this particular job is so far away from DIY it’s ridiculous, I get a lot of attitude from strangers… So I say meh… if they can’t take good advice they can mess up their own cars.
@@RealWorldPDRTraining ahaha I don’t blame you, it’d be a full time job replying to all these muppets 😂 fantastic work man, watching masters of this art, like yourself, is so satisfying to me. I’m in the Autobody trade as a combo tech, you’d cry if you saw me using my bars for push to paint 🤣
So what you are telling me is when I glue pull I have to be pulled too 🤣. Guilty on all of these lol, I also bought me a carbon fiber tap down though 😅 I just don't have a slapper yet! Think I should have gotten the Amazon tap down?!
Hahaha there’s a reason I put these on the list! It’s all so common man! So I’m a knockdown freak. I’ve got cheap ones I love and ridiculously expensive ones that I love… as long as it’s doing the job for you don’t stress about it!
@@edwinmedina4338 there’s so much more to learn in those fuck ups than when everything goes right! Keep fucking up until you don’t anymore! Although…. I don’t know when that will be… I’m 20 ish years in and I’m still doin it
Man its great to finally see a new video again! I wanted to make the open house, would have been great to meet you in person. I left my job of 25 years last June and have been PDRing every since. Watched your videos for 3 years and It was truly inspiring! Thanks Jim
Oh man that means the world to me! Yes it’s been a slow roll since the heart attack, but I’m coming back. I’m so happy I’ve been able to help on your journey! Thanks for taking the time to write this! You’ve made my evening!
Im throughly impressed ive seen quite impressive things in all aspects of the automotive industry but this just fascinated me i got the 89 pc pdr set from vevor for 100-130 what tools would you recommend i add to my pdr tool kit? Being a mechanic this is good to know because well shit happens lol
Another lesson learned in this video is just listen to Hudson when it comes to buying tools. How long have I been telling you to get that glexo hammer Jim!!!!!!
