I recorded myself drawing the details of the bird from my drawing Approval from start to finish. Here is the 44 minutes of real time with real sound. I hope you find this video useful or at the very least cathartic. Let me know if I should record more of these types of videos.

Yes! Record more. You can learn a lot by just watching. I would be interested in finding out what hardness graphite you’re using in the video, and what source images look like. I appreciate the content!

Also, can I request for more such detailed videos focussing on texture creation - elephant skin, leopard hair, porcupine quill … tree bark, rocks and water. Water droplets highlighted against that beautiful black background … all the details, really.

First, fantastic videoing! Please make more such detailed videos. It helps enormously to just watch and absorb your technique. Can you please share in future videos the tools you switch between? For example here, do you switch between thicker and thinner leads or lighter and darker? More information on the pencils will be invaluable. Thank you!

👍Would love to see more of these types of videos. It's great to see how you build up the textures and values in the hummingbird. Also, is the reason for working upside down a way to sorta trick your brain so you're less focused on the reference and able to work more intuitively?
