Still waiting for the real deal. This "TransAm" series has cars that vaguely resemble production models but not really. I was watching some vintage TransAm racing last evening and man that was super exciting.
When the leaders drove through all of that grass that someone had brought onto the front stretch 35:19 I immediately looked at their grills and could see all that grass clogging them.
No. Chassis innovation is light years ahead from 40 years ago. In most forms of racing the chassis design modifications promise better lap times which causes teams with Deep pockets to buy the latest trend chassis for a minuscule advantage.
Exclusive TV deals from *sscar. Venue ownership groups tied to *sscar. Lack of live TV broadcasts. Other than that now that you know spread the good word! TA2 is even more even between racers.
Funny that the guy who locks his brakes and crashes into the side of the black car is the one who loses his wheel :D Karma catching up only after a couple turns.
He's either a jerk or a slob -- either way, his racing license should be suspended. I love how the commentators are completely okay with it -- idiots!.
The lug nuts didn’t shear off. The center section of the wheel sheared because of side loading I believe. Most likely, the forging was porous or forging temperatures were not correct or or or. One thing is certain, I’d scrap those rims
Wait so ta is basically just gt cars now??? What's with all the Porsche's? I thought the whole point of trans am was v8 front engined American cars... Basically an American v8 supercars? I'm probably wrong though, it's a series I've always thought about following, but never put the time into
Yeah if you want to see some racing for free this is it... soon nascar / IMSA will be pay to watch each and every race just like motortrend is doing to car shows. Goodby network car shows and racing in a year or two.
I sure wish they would require stock bodywork on these Trans-Am cars. Outside of the grill and lights they really don't look anything like the street cars. Just another field of tube-framed racers with random body work hung on. And they're not very attractive.
