The ESPN FC crew reacts to Lionel Messi's debut with Inter Miami of the MLS, a match in which he scored in 94th minute to give Inter a 2-1 lead over Cruz Azul and winning the bout.
He's more happy and motivated I guess. When he went to Paris, it was the only best choice for him and his family, and almost as if he was being pushed out of Barca. It wasn't exactly part of his life plan back then. However, this time around, he decided to join Miami, even turning down lucrative offers from the Saudi league.
@@stansmith5610h you Mr Stan again. It's okay we understand you are going through a lot of stress. Mate, please get a checkup as mental health for a lot of CR7 fans has been impacted since the last world cup Their first response was denial and then became delusional. I'm afraid this will very soon turn into depression. Please have your meds on time and get well soon.
Messi has GOATs like Serena Williams and Lebron show up to watch him play and Ronaldo has a bunch of old arab dudes in white thingys and a swarm of grasshoppers show up to watch him play. Messi the undisputed GOAT.
@@panacea26947Where was ronaldo when he was messis current age? He was dominating in UCL and Italy meanwhile pessi only scored in MLS thanks to a freekick given by the ref 🤣🤣
You care more about celebrities than the football. The players play for the fans not Kim Kardashian’s & that fat old basketball player who no one outside of America knows him.
@@trublu3282 Yes, I know. However, if u surf the internet and see social media literally thousands of ppl use it wrongly lol Just wanted to emphasize Leo’s greatness
Ah yes, the one and only Frionel Pepsi also known as Eibar man who ghosts in big European games and cant score a free kick without diving. Edit: Pepsi fans are now mad 🤣
Nah he had better moments before especially critical moments where Messi delivered. This game vs rahs al ghul or whatever is I don't know what it is but it's not a critical moment in a big time tournament or league. Its sad to see the supposed GOAT turned into an entertainment attraction. Sad sad day
@@stansmith5610 that means Messi is the greatest free kick taker right? Him getting free kicks means game is done. Thank you for saying he is GOAT. You are a true Messi fan trying to please penaldo fans❤️❤️
@@stansmith5610 Man with the rate at which ur tears have been flowing, perhaps u can consider donating them tears in the carmel's desert island.Penaldoggy is really thirsty n finished.
Was and he just had to cross the finish line but made a U-Turn with this tragic move to Inter Miami and MLS. The Greatest always tests themselves with the best in the best leagues if he still can and Messi for sure at least two more seasons could do that in Europe but no he chose the easy way out because of no pressure no demands and peace and quiet. How can you finish your career like that as the greatest?? 😳😳😳😳😳
Nah it's okay to switch teams two or three times in your life. It's the journey of a football fan. Especially if your hometown doesn't have a club that plays in the highest level. What's not okay is switching teams every seasons. Or following one player wherever he goes. That would be the fake plastic fan thing to do.
For the first time, in-depth highlights about Messi, in English. And unrestricted access to matches that only happens in the US. I can watch highlights of Messi matches all the time now
Ronaldo was watching on his couch (like he did the WC Final) clutching his covers when Messi was about to shoot that free kick. Once it went in he turned off his tv, buried his face in his pillow and began bursting out in tears. Messi is the 🐐
@@haircutsofexcelence9830 Hahaha! Wasted sad souls who cannot deal with the fact that their carmel meat rider was finished n wasted 5 yrs ago.Hahaha!Keep them tears flowing.
What brilliance?? Its a short term satisfaction that won't change anything in the long run. Do you think up and coming prospects will suddenly now move to the MLS?? Even our home grown players in the US goes to Europe to play in the big leagues and not to mention Champions League. So there is no brilliance but a side show that is tragic for the world's greatest player
Lmao, so dramatic. Nobody thinks that the MLS is as good as top European leagues, and the comment you replied to didn’t say anything like that. The MLS is already a league for developing young talent, and a league where a lot of young, particularly Latin American talent comes to play. Messi in the MLS is going to be a lot of fun; it’s not an insult to anyone
@@P4P1980could change soon the USA is just so much richer than other countries as a net, like NFL roster salaries etc our 15th ranked nfl team is worth as much as Real Madrid. Also the usa is a way better country to live than random places you don’t speak the language. English and Spanish is spoken here. England is a poor dying country post brexit. France is doing well but is such a weird unfriendly place to live for non whites. They will follow the money and lifestyle. Not just money or lifestyle.
World cup World cup player of the tournment Ligue 1 Ligue 1 team of the season Now an injury time worldie free kick in front of a celebrity crowd to start off in concacaf. All within 12 months. Goat.
Glad to see Messi happy. Now the team to find a way to upgrade their players. Many times i saw Messi couldn't pass the ball because no player on the attack. They have to keep moving finding space, let Messi create the play.. in my opinion though 😁 And also the defense please upgrade guys.. Go Inter Miami..!
He was celebrating hard with the team after the win, he celebrated his teammate’s goal, he dedicated the match to a young teammate who had put everything into coming back from a second ACL tear and then suffered the same injury. The one thing I know is that he doesn’t care if you think he should care
@@henrybuchan4688 Messi doesn't care or at least it doesn't mean much to him as it once did and if you could conjure half a brain you would know that. What is for show and what is real are two different things buddy. But go ahead soak it up
In terms of performance maybe. Messi played 37 mins tho. But for a 11 losing streak Miami, coming out of bench and score the winner is bigger debut for me.
It sounds silly at first, but it's actually true if you think about it. The fact that so many people still insist that Ronaldo is better than Messi or think that he wouldn't be a player that can still contribute to most top teams in the world for maybe one or two more seasons, makes him underrated.
@@RDRevolver8282Ronaldo when he was Messis current age was dominating the UCL and serie A.. and where's messi? 😂 individually Ronaldo is better. That gifted world cup and gifted balon d oro that was for Lewandowski don't prove he's better
Don't ever forget, Messi is the celebrity amongst celebrities. He's image is bigger world wide than anyone one of them. They came to watch him. He is true greatness
@@zayankanani9573 Yes exactly should have retired altogether because no matter what you say this is beneath Messi. He could have just moved to Miami without all this and still make a living and be comfortable. As a die hard Messi fan from 2006 this is a tragedy. Should have retired after the WC win even though he's got two or more seasons left of high level football instead of this Inter Miami nonsense. Does he really need the money?? If so, he could have gotten it without playing as a spokesperson or brand ambassador
who cares?? Nothing is on the line in this game or nothing will on the line for Messi playing at Inter Miami. He doesn't have a must win clause in his contract with Inter Miami and even if he did do you think someone of Messi's stature would care after everything he has won in Europe or for Argentina, it's just a show and thats it. Don't wet your pants
Maybe, maybe not. It's called football. Maradona have his hand of god goal. England didn't score against Germany in 66. Barca did Chelsea dirty in 2009. It's called football. You'll never know. That's why the beautiful game is interesting.
Nope GOAT can only be the GOAT where it matters most and decisions GOAT makes will reflect on if he is the GOAT or not. And this tragic s**t show Messi chose to go to while he can still play at a high level in Europe will reflect on his legacy. And again Messi's own words, he went to Inter Miami because there is no pressure nothing on the line and peace and quiet, I don't know what any of that s**t means but it certainly doesn't sound like the GOAT. In fairness this s**t show could have happen later for Messi but the fact he decided to do it now is taking the easy way out and that alone can effect his GOAT status not that he cares
Two legends to another. Le Bron is now congratulating No. 10 for his bro in heaven, Kobe. That’s what Kobe used to do whenever he could make it to a Messi game.
Yup if it was Basketball, Baseball, our football, but soccer we are not the hot bed for high level competition even our best players from the US apply their trade in Europe. Wake up buddy
American soccer bruv, I travel for big USMNT games, certified youth coach, Liverpool hooligan. This is only great for the beautiful game in the states. 👏
As a die hard Messi fan I'm so sad he chose to end his career this way at Inter Miami and in the MLS. He had time for that later on but chose now its a tragedy of epic proportions smh
@@P4P1980 no it isn’t. Barcelona was going to screw him over and he was getting booed at PSG. This was a personal decision more than anything. If you actually listen to what he says he’s thrilled to be here. I think he knows what’s best for him more than his fans. I wanted him to stay in Europe for another year too but now that he’s here I think it’s the best decision he could have made. He looked happier than he has in two years the other night. I’d say that says it all.
@@GinaSigillito It doesn't have to be Barca because we all know the real Barca right now is Man City and it has Barca DNA written all over it. All this Inter Miami nonsense is an easy way out and to me it doesn't represent what Messi as a footballer is. Listen if you really are a Messi fan which I was from 2006 you would know this is not a GOAT worthy ending especially since he can still play at a high level. I believe Barca and him have lots to work out for culers sake and the whole thing stinks to high heaven. To me he should have just retired after winning the WC because outside of Europe doesn't mean s**t or it would be fitting to end it in Argentina
@@P4P1980 sorry I disagree, as do many people. And I’ve been a fan since 2009. I think Pele would disagree with you about coming to the MLS, which he also did when it wasn’t at the level it is now. So would Zlatan. And Thierry Henry. There’s nothing to say he can’t come back to Barcelona at some point. And again he seems happy which as a Messi fan I would think you would want to see. This is something he did as a family decision as well. If you’ve seen all the interviews he’s done you would know that.
Messi and Busquets will demand so much from the their new teammates. It will be a graceful but swift and strict lesson but that’s what top class professionals do.
demand what?? their parking space?? What are you on buddy?? Messi and Busquets didn't come to win anything because there isn't anything worth winning in MLS compared to what Messi and Busquets won before. So really what are they gonna demand??
@@ramakrishnanjayaraman6718 smh really?!?!?! except for Messi yes the rest will be a retirement home and come to think of it Florida's known for the top of the line retirement homes. Way to go Beckham!!! LMAO
@@ramakrishnanjayaraman6718 They demanded high wages and for that we get to see them play in an inferior league with no real competition compared to Europe so how are you going to demand better football in that scenario. 🤔🤔
I also thought it wasn’t a foul, until I saw a fan vid view from behind the goal, and you can see the other defender hitting messi with his left leg, causing the foul
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣yea playing in the MLS while you can still be dominant in Europe doesn't come close to the GOAT. Washed up and don't have it anymore and coming to the MLS you can still retain your GOAT status
Was the only GOAT until he decided to come here. Look even from here I know reality and reality is that the best competition for foootball / soccer is in Europe so Messi came to the wrong place and because of that he is no longer the GOAT because he can still play at a high level and chose the easy way out
If you are a lover or hater you have to see that MLS has a lot to win signing the world cup winner and best in the modern era, a joy to watch always and forever Messi been watching him since Ronaldinho era and look how quick time went and hes already 36 in a blink of an eye😢 This is hes last dance the next 2.5 years in soccer so I cannot wait
No Messi had a chance at the last dance in Europe but he chose to go to Inter Miami because he doesn't want the pressure or demands and peace and quiet so its now a s**t show instead of the last dance. GOATS don't shy away from pressure or challenges. Love him or hate him facts are facts and reality is reality and not a hater actually I'm a die hard Messi fan and because of that I can say this.
The moment Messi get ready for the free kick, it was not even a surprise, are you kidding me? It's Messi, I'm just waiting to see where he'll curve it that's all, it was like an 80% probability he'll score.
I am not a hater but please 🤣 it's like they are discovering football with all of this for a few days 🤣 But last minute Messi free kick in it's like a script for real 🤣 so cool
I was actually surprised he said that. Two players tackled Messi and yes one player got the ball but the second player clearly fouled him so yeah it's a foul.
This so called pundits are probably tired of praising Messi after all he did for football. “Not a foul”, I believe came from his ego that premier league is above all the other leagues😂
