Nicolas Jackson continuing to fly under the radar gradually collecting more goals and assists. After another goal and assist today, he’s now up to 13 goals and 5 assists with at least 8 games to go. Not bad for Year 1 in England at 22 after pundits kept trying to label him a massive flop.
True thing.. I believe Jackson will be a top player.. he's so compose with the ball.. just need to work on his finishing but that goal today seems like he's been doing that
Jackson is growing on me throughout the season. However can´t be behaving like that. Lukicly he redeemed himself with an excellent goal. Palmer masterclass 🥶How far can this kid go ?? Ballon d´or
That's actually surprising. He's been less than regular all season. He scored 3 goals against tottenham because tottenham had like 3 players on the field. He's not very good anyways
@@gislelien7600 kmt never.. he will not be great because he's not that good.. he gives the ball away aot doing silly passes. Pep knows why he sold him easily.. wasn't even hesitant doing it
FOR REAL my goodness, Poch let the media dictate the narrative. Like just tell the media they will deal with it internally... Now all they haters and fans who hate those 2 players are just gonna keep the drama going
@@guled7874 Mate you really didn't need to drag Poch on this one. What more can the man do? He came out and addressed the issue Palmer is the taker and it was a shame that happened. How did he let the media dictate the narrative?
@guled7874 you guys will always find a way to drag Poch. He addressed it internally the last time it happened and it happened again, it's it not selfishness on these players. Where were they against Man utd when Palmer took it? They are selfish, are they not seeing his records? Why drag Poch.
In his last 3 games, Cole Palmer has scored 2 PL hat-tricks meanwhile despite being in England for over 8 years and is currently earning over 350k a week, Marcus Rashford has still never scored a hattrick in the premier league. Palmer has also managed to score 20+ goals in a single season in the Premier League alone before Rashford did.
@minatodroger7890 9 penalties is 45% of his EPL goals. You have to mention that when looking at his numbers. Because 11 goals and 9 assists without the penalties is impressive but not spectacular.
Ale Moreno is actually right for a change. Many Chelsea players were great today. That's the real story here. We aren't there yet, but you can definitely see major progress.
Stevie Nicol is right that this Chelsea team are not ready yet. But you can't deny that they are capable of producing this type of performance against Everton regardless of the penalty dilemma. This Chelsea team will be a threat next season and you could believe that.
@friendlybane That doesn't mean anything bud because they made up it. If Chelsea didn't win tonight against Everton, people like you would be jumping on the bandwagon about Sheffield and Burnley.
@@keonwilliams9938i just hope more than anything else right now, that we beat City and then go on and win the FA Cup. That would be a good season in my eyes.
Jackson is very underrated and not talked about enough. obviously he’s raw and young as a striker but he has all the talent. His touch & finish on his goal was world class. that’s bc of confidence. Hope he continues his form
@bo0gi3 They don’t talk about Jackson because the media decided early on he was a flop. And they don’t like backtracking on their narratives unless really forced to. Jackson is definitely improving but Palmer currently has the limelight. In some ways, that’s an even better way for Jackson to keep performing like he did today without much fanfare.
@@PhotosoflifeJackson is not talked about because he sucks as a striker. Yes, his goal today was excellent but that cannot overshadow the countless easy chances he continues to squander. He has excellent ball control, dribbling skills, and great passes but he is not a good finisher. That is why he is not talked about. If he was not being played a main striker and was playing as a winger or false 9, he will be more talked about because no one will be expecting him to score. People talk about Palmer because although he is not the main striker his finishing and assist skills are the best in the team and it was not expected.
Jackson had a part in the whole of Palmers hat trick,he assisted him on the first, shot at Pickford for the second and pressed him forcing him to make a mistake, nico was amazing just the penalty incident wasn't the best look
I love how Stevie after saying "you get a chance to bury somebody, you bury them!!" he went into a silverback gorilla pose like he'd just sorted out his squabbling troop and was well pleased with himself.
Never understood any criticism of lack of goals from this Chelsea team after the end of december. Chelsea can score goals but cant keep leads. The problem is space distribution between midfielders and the mental lapses on defense. If they fix those, we wouldnt be suffering so much this season. One thing that keeps me worried is the position of the midfielders tbh. Many times the double pivots were caught far apart from each other or too close on one end of the field, where one pass to the middle makes the opponent 1v1 with our CB’s
Lavia will fix that issue, i guarantee you. He'll allow both Enzo x Caicedo to bomb forward. Put a front 3 of Nkunku Jackson Palmer And that team will easily compete against the best teams in the country.
@@Iamwhatyousayiam agreed brother! Let’s keep these vibes amongst our base! There is hope even though it’s sometimes hard to see where we are going through all this reactionary content. Its hard for any coach to get our chelsea squad and work everything at once to build a foundation. The offense is getting gelled and now we need the defense to follow and it will. This young team will grow and hopefully the injuries will fade away.
God it sucks so bad that they complained about that penalty Jackson played so well, brilliant goal he scored, Madueke played well. Just a shame this had to be a talking point in a 6-0 win smh.
We can't play like this without those 2 either. Everyone's calling for them to be off but Palmers not doing all this without his teammates as good as he's been
Ale can be ridiculous at times. How can any coach think of not playing Palmer at the Euros? He's outscored Foden, and Saka in a dysfunctional Chelsea team. Imagine what he could do in an even better team! Otumfour Kojo Agyemang
A big reason as to why Chelsea’s attack is much better than last season despite not having a proper striker is because of Cole Palmer. In his last 3 games in the Premier League he has 2 hat tricks and today he just scored 4 goals against Everton. 23 goals 13 assists 36 G/A in all competitions, 20 goals in the Premier League alone has the most goals in the league along with Erling Haaland despite not even being a striker it’s amazing. He’s the first player at Chelsea since Diego Costa to score 20+ goals in a PL season, he managed to do something that Eden Hazard never did during his time in England and has scored 20+ goals or more in a PL season before Marcus Rashford. All of this in his first full season at Chelsea who have had their struggles their 6-0 over Everton doesn’t change the fact that they’re still in 9th place if he’s been so good scoring all these goals. You just don’t know where Chelsea would even be without him because he’s carrying them right now and all the doubters who continue to find ways to downplay his performances down to him only scoring penalties and saying that this is a purple patch, he just keeps delivering. He is the only reason why Chelsea have a proper chance at finishing in a European position and can possibly finish above Manchester United. Before his 4th goal which was indeed a penalty, he already scored a perfect hat trick. This is a guy who prior to this season only started 2 games in the league and was seen as a Manchester City reject because he wasn’t playing, he’s been so good that many people believe that they made a mistake in selling him last summer. After 1,000 transfers under Todd Boehly, they got this one right. With him showing no signs of slowing down, I think Gareth Southgate has a massive decision to make at the EUROs because Palmer has to play, but is there room for him in England’s best starting lineup or is he an impact sub the first player off the bench. He is also a contender for Premier League Player of the Season as well because his exploits this season regardless of where Chelsea are at in the table should 100% be recognized.
Drogba was competing the golden boot with Rooney at that time, Chelsea won comfortably at that time and Lampard already score hat trick. But Lampard did allowed Drogba to take the penalty in the next games thus making Drogba the top scorer.
I was at that game vs Wigan we won 8 - 0. Drogba was going for pl top scorer, eventually scored a hat trick but we needed the win to guarantee the title.
@@russellward4624You delusional bro, everythime he played at city he scored its jsut that he was young so he didnt get chance. Same was with KDB at Chelsea but look at him now. One of the middlefield kings to ever play the game .
My take on the penalty situation is that Jackson appears to have believed he was up to take the penalty due to very hard penalty fouls on both Palmer and Madeweke.... Madeweke then stepped up because he thought the penalty was given on the foul on him... The referee finally advises the penalty given for the foul on Palmer! Palmer then asserted that he was OK to take his own penalty! Gallagher then takes the ball and hands it to Palmer! And the rest is history! Now! Ultimately, this is a good thing because all our guys want to score and score often! Chelsea's guys will now look to take out some frustration on MC in the FA Cup Semi Final! Go Blues!
Dan, you've got it twisted. They already knew that Palmer is the designated penalty-taker. Palmer originally was still on the ground, writhing in pain when the two fools were arguing about the penalty and that is why they both thought that one of them should be taking it.
At the moment in time, Palmer was sitting in the floor holding his foot; all us Chelsea fans went quiet and we’re praying. The others wanted to decide who was taking the penalty but the Palmer stood up, it was clear who was taking it!
Nicol was spot on with the meaning of the penalty squabble. Shows Chelsea not yet ready for prime time because of the selfishness of individual players like Jackson., Madueke. Note the squabble over the microphone between Nicol and Thomas.
@darkleav Why are you only saying Jackson? Madueke was involved as well. None of them are embarrassing. They are young and want to score. It looked like Palmer might be injured as well before he got up and took over.
@darkleav Palmer is the penalty taker. But context is important. Palmer had his Achilles stamped on that caused the penalty. He was actually laying down in the box for a long time. And players at that level are ruthless, particularly strikers and attackers like Madueke and Jackson. That is why they are at that level. It took Palmer a long time to get up and once he did he just got in between them and took the ball. That’s it. Those guys are Uber competitive and guys like Madueke and Jackson likely have goal incentives in their contracts. It’s a nothing burger bigger picture. If you’ve ever played on an elite team, stuff like this happens and you move on. That’s it.
You’d be crazy not to play him in the Euros. This is a kid who’s playing in a Chelsea team that’s still finding their feet! Imagine he had the same playing time as Foden in Man City! He’ll be the highest goal scorer this season.
Foden hasn't gotten as much game time but the point still stands. He's playing unbelievable. Peps trying to make sure he doesn't treat Foden like barca treates petri and burn him out. They're certainly the 2 best in the league this season
@@HenryTechBoy I like this idea, but Foden is also brilliant...I would start Foden and bench Saka...Palmer and Foden r on much better form this season than Saka
@@athaciaparkes8473 the thing is even if Saka isn’t necessarily at his best rn he still has 14 goals in the prem (same as Foden) and 8 assists (Foden has 1 less with 7) so you can’t even say Foden has better numbers. I like Foden but I think Foden and Palmer or more stylistically similar. Saka on the right has to be a must for England, he excels there and there’s a reason why when he’s fit he’s the 1st choice on the right. I think the question should be Foden vs Palmer. Which is by far a more interesting conversation. Palmer left City because he wasn’t “good enough” to get a shirt and he joined Chelsea and has turned into a megastar. Would you start Foden over Palmer or vice versa? That’s a very hard decision. Foden can play on the left as well but he’s better either through the middle or on the right. This is a very difficult decision for Southgate so the only way I can think this works is if Palmer comes off the bench since he’s the “new boy” onto the squad or Southgate has to experiment/brainstorm and somehow find a way to fit these guys in and still have a balance.
Stevie review the game, not the season. Nobody said they’re the finished article. We accept when you bash them after a poor result but give Chelsea the credit when we do play well.
Palmer has been incredible this season, what a bargain at 47 mil for a 21 year old of his calibre. Chelsea made some big transfer overpayments in their recent history but Pep and his staff at City will be kicking themselves for the next decade for letting a superb young talent of his quality just leave - and for not guaranteeing him more starts/minutes, especially after how good he was in pre-season. They could have used him after KDB went down for 5-6 months for sure. That pen decision - there should have been a yellow card on that to the Everton player too- nasty foul. Dyche has to change something cause it ain't working for them in that formation or the way they play. Maybe try a 4-4-2 sometime if DCL comes back. They might still get a point back after the appeal. Teams struggling to stay in league get points deducted for few FFP transgressions yet the 4 time in a row winner (soon to be) has 115 charges against them and 0 points deducted. Makes the FA look real fair, I tell ya.
Steve is a bit too harsh on the penalty. They aren't ready yet yes but these situations happen so they can learn. One thing we know now is that they won't discuss over taking a penalty no matter the score line. Chelsea's new transfer policy should be to raid City's academy😂😂😂😂
I believe we should give credit to Pochetino for buying such a great talent in Palmer. You also judge a coach on his decision - and the decision to bring Palmer has paid off very well.
Dan is trying to turn this penalty sideshow into the entire show. Dan would be better off hosting The View. Thankfully former pros like Mario and Stevie “get it” and understand the actual dynamics on the field in situations like this. Because Dan comes across really badly here trying to turn a 6-0 Chelsea domination into nothing but drama about the penalty. I’ve had enough of Dan personally.
Palmer has 20 goals 9 are pens without them ppl wouldn't be going mental, Jackson has 10 goals with the 9 pens he would have 19 and ppl would be talking about how Chelsea haven't had a St scoring goals like this since Costa. Palmer Goal Conversion is 27% and shot accuracy is 67%. Jackson goal conversion is 21% and shot accuracy is 61% just saying
What is Dan's job?. Isn't it to watch the full press conferences, he is a journalist right. Poch singularly said palmer is the designated taker. Everyone is explaining that to him still he doesnt shut up.
Ppl need to cut the team some slack. A new coach and many new and young players coming together for the 1st time will have inconsistencies. However they didn't lose against city, should've beat arsenal, dismantled tottenham, made it to a final which they should've won and are in contention of making it to another. While palmer deserves some praise the team does as well. Some of the goals that he scored including the penalties were due to the good moments of other players.
Gold Palmer……is a true gem.💎 This is what we are asking from this ChelseaFC team week in, week out. This is the best ChelseFC performance after the Champions league in 2022 (against Manchester City). Everton is a decent team though, they looked ordinary because of the team performance tonight. Pochetino please, don’t drop this performance against Manchester City, Arsenal and the remaining matches this season. Common Blues!!!
UNBELIEVABLE !!! 6 star Chelsea performance ! Classic Hat-trick, new PL leading goal scorer, and so-called pundits remember only PK incident. Stevie change your profession, please !
what makes palmer a great palyer is he sees the next move before he does it which is a skill in itself that many top players dont have his languid style would suit spain or latin countries which is why commentators would choose foden saka over him in this country
As a City fan, i really rate Cole Palmer. However, the young players at City ate so good that a few of them can go over to other clubs and have a major impact. For England, you have to have Saka ahead of Palmer based on the fact that he has been Englands best player over the past 24 months
As an individual, Chelsea players are talented and amazing but they need to work more on their team effort and communication. Tonight, they did look like a whole team (except for that penalty drama but it happened with other regular team)
