i love love loved this episode!! i want to be an ED therapist and considered getting a CCI coaching certificate before going to social work school, but i decided to give it more time as i’ve been ‘almost fully recovered’ for a while now, but never have gone for full recovery! i actually recently started working with a recovery coach who i found through the CCI database and i’m really excited about it and to hopefully become an ED professional in the future when the time is right 💕

Thank you for this! I'm busy today but I'll be watching this later this afternoon/tonight. My recovery coach uses Carolyn's book for treatment, I love the exercises, and she is spot on about a lot of things.

Wow! This coaching idea is such a great idea!!! I have never recovered from my 10 year eating disorder. I have had some therapy in the past and it didn't do much to help me and in my country inpatient unavailable unless you are seriously seriously rich. But yeah I think a serious coach for people with eating disorders could be an INCREDIBLY idea! If I had a good coach I could see this really helping! I hope this concept blows up. Good luck to you :)

I started recovery in may, I went into residential, but I found your channel years ago and you showed me that full recovery is possible. And when I was in residential there were a lot of people that worried about that and I told all of them about you, and it didn’t hurt that a lot of the staff were recovered from EDs as well. I don’t watch many videos but you’ve genuinely helped me

I love this! I've thought about getting my CCI coaching certificate. I am a pediatric nurse and would love to learn how to better support my patients in my career.

Fan-girling! ☀️ I'm in my third-year of my occupational therapy degree & hoping to work with people with eating disorders after, which is in large part due to both of influences! Looking forward to this vid 🙂

This is a super interesting video. Thank you both. Do you think someone who hasn’t got a history of eating disorders could become an ED coach or is it absolutely imperative to have lived experience? There is a lot of historic/current ED and DE within the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome community (we estimate 30-50%), almost always in females. There is also a high prevalence of neuro diversity especially ADHD and autism, which doesn’t always respond to typical ED care. I do some work in the EDS community and I’m always thinking about how we could harness skills and care from other communities, and how care could be adapted. Much love as always 💗

your perspective and positions in those communities sound like you’d be an amazing coach who could help so many people from these under/recognized communities ❤️ i’ve personally looked into carolyn costin institute coaching so i know that having lived experience with an ED isn’t a requirement of becoming a coach, just a bonus, but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t be an incredible coach!

How does coaching differ from occupational therapy?

2 years seems like a really long time but also not long enough.

I think this kind of support could really help me, but I'm not sure my family can afford it on top of private therapy. I assume something like this is quite expensive long-term?
