Hey, kid, octavia 2 is based on Golf mkV, not passat. Also, te 1,4 engine has a maximum of 75 or 80 bhp, not 120, as you mentioned. That is not a TSI engine, is MPI. I don't know your age, but you may read the manual before making a review. Good luck! LE: I own a 2007 Octavia Elegance 1,9 tdi PD 77kw (or 105 BHP), 250 Nm torque, combi version. I know more about this car, but I don't feel the need to share it with other people, because this car is very common, not something to be pride of. I am just a happy user, as long as the car is working properly.
I'm thinking of buying a used 2008 1,6 120hp petrol Octavia with 73.000 kms (45.360 miles). I've been hearing they came out quite reliable, any owner here that has experience?
I love the operah!! Nice looking octavia you got there. This car is becoming one of my favourites but i must say the newest model looks better. It has nothing to do with quality or something but this model looks to much like passat. I drive an Seat Toledo 1m (2000) at the moment. And im pretty sure my next car is going to be an octavia (a Sedan ofcourse!!)
It is a czech version of a passat (if you want to call it that way) But its BASED on the VW Golf IV it shares the same chassis and engines and most materials are from the golf. For example my Seat Toledo (2000) has an Audi A3 chassis a VW (golf/bora) Engine and the Dash is also shared with the A3.
I would keep the Skoda if i was you, It is real good quality. But i know how it goes a passat is more comfortable drives smoother etc. But it is more expensive also :P Not only in purchase but maintance at the dealer cost more for a VW then for a Skoda but thats just clear logic. A Skoda is a budget VW :)
brother i dont know old models car will help me skoda octavia 1.9tdi model2005 nd 95 crore kilometer run is this good condition engine or not ........ will you help me please i need help
I have a little used Skoda Octavia 2.0 vRS and as I've had it a while now I thought I'd mention the problems I've had. 1. Instrument Cluster stops working occasionally. 2. Interior Fan stopped working so needs replacing at £200.00. 3. Water in boot due to failure of boot seal leading to a bootful (trunk) of water if left 4. Long term my biggest issue with this car is the hatchback tailgate. With water on the rear window, after rain perhaps, when I open it, water runs off the window and onto the back seat headrests and if you forget! On to your rear passengers! That's a poor design. 5. High oil consumption if pushed. I wont be buying another as it's good but is, even in the new model, is not very stylish. But, I will say, it has a massive boot and is very capable of looking after your family due to it's spaciousness. The 2.0 RS is a great car though you don't want to over tune them as they struggle to gain traction, a lot of wheeel spin at the front. Latest 230 doesn't have the same problem and can be pushed to 280bhp. Auto would be a good choice but VERY VERY VERY expensive if that gearbox fails, and they do, even in VW's.
