I have this in the exact same color since March. Did 18k kilometers + 2 track days. Trust me the typeR and the I30N are not faster at all...especially the I30N.I use it as daily no issues at all, as you said It gets a lot of attention but than It is something you would want from your hothatch. Maintenance is half the price of the typeR (My best buddy bought Honda so it is checked). And as for the EDC...based on same reviews I did not expect much, but trust me it is not worse (if not better) than DSG. May wife had golf 7,5 with DSG and after that Arteon so It is also checked. A lot of great hatches these days in general though 😀
Yeah, Trophy beats Type R in 80% of the track tests, Type R is a bit faster on straights but the Megane has less turbo lag and just handles better. The I30N is left in dust by these two. Also, post dieselgate DSGs have humongous kickdown lag, my friend has a 7.5R and it takes about 1-1.5s before it takes off after flooring it.
Hi, hesistating between the type r and the trophy edc (both new) for daily use, but cant test drive any. Want to base decision on fun factor mostly. Any thoughts u can share? Thanks in advance.
@@arielyanay2454 Depends where you live I guess, but where I do there is so much traffic during the day, that manual transmission is not an option for me. Put it comfort and just cruise, and when you want to be hooligan put it back to race. Main disadvantage for the RS, does not have adaptive shoks but for me it is not a problem. Sound of the megane is miles better also which for me is a big part of the fun factor. The type R has a bit bigger boot and may be a bit more space in the back,,,I honestly do mot think there is wrong choice between these two. Plenty of fun in both.
How about parts for the car? I got a mate who flips cars and says parts are rare to come by. Especially with Renault Australia having decline in sales over the years and I read they now use an independent distributor.
