It's all the bike 90% of us need in reality, by the way those welds are very good considering mass produced, I have an engineering background so feel its a fair comment.
I bought the Hunter last month. Now thinking to return it for the Guerilla. In Cambodia the hunter is by far fast enough, but a bit more power would be grate to overtake sometimes.
Theyve been hitting it out of the park lately. Himalayan, Hunter, Scram, now the Guerilla. And this one and the Himalayan in particular are seriously desireable. Though i prefer the gold dip colour.
absolute respect for the central stand and the actual front mudguard, I love to pieces the old F1 Lotus colour but I'm not really fond of those brakes. I hope they'll sell tons of this bike
Great review. I am still waiting for the demo bike to land at my dealers, so I can do my review too. When I first saw pictures of the yellow ribbon, I wasn’t keen on it, but I think it might be my favourite now too. Obviously it will be another winner for RE.
Have had a test ride on one , it is fantastic to ride , ordered one as soon as they were launched on 17th July, Brava blue for me , hopefully will be here soon !
i would take this over the 400x in a heartbeat, i would only say to take the MT if you were to ride more off road than on and it is about being honest with yourself about bike use, this looks like a bloody fun bike to ride daily and as a little naked it will take you anywhere - i ride a 500 ktm on and off road and it is my daily bike, if i added a 2nd bike (i am doing it this year to get more road comfort) i would take the guerilla without doubt - the MT is a nice bike but very different use case to the guerilla
@@ogasi1798Funnily enough I put a deposit on a 400X to reserve the next one arriving at the dealer. I then went for a test ride and promptly cancelled my order. I just wasn’t impressed with the ride quality and vibes.
Seems like the offset dial offers the opportunity to place a nav/ phone mount at that location. And that would be very good. So I think it’s maybe a good idea to do that.
Great review again and I suppose it'll have to do until my dealer gets a demo (hopefully next week). I have to concur with one of the previous comments, the welding does look very good and certainly equals that on my BMW and Yamaha. I know what you mean about offset things though, every time I get in the car I wonder why they didn't put all the controls in the middle of the dash (McLaren managed it 😁), although it might be a bit uncomfortable sat on the handbrake 😮 Actually, I quite like a bit of 'bad boy' asymmetry, my XSR 900 is the same. Thanks again for the review ..... it is a really well proportioned machine and, as you say, RE have gone and done it again! Cheers, Phil (Somerset)
Ideal first bike? Got my full test next month so looking for a first proper bike all being well! I had my sights set on the bmw 310gs but being a bit chunky i fear it wont be big enough and i love the styling of this!
Best of luck with the test. I passed mine a couple of years ago and went for a rebel 500. Brilliant commuter, lots of torque. In hindsight I should have gone for the triumph scrambler 900 but that will be next.
Probably my next bike, found it comfier than the 400x sitting on it although probably get the taller bench seat, so much custom potential too, hope someone does a colour matched high front mudguard at some point or mix of high and low like the Triumph option, i would fit handguards, small screen and a mesh headlight cover too.
It is an interesting bike! In terms of looks i do prefer the hunter 350, but it seems to lack power. So ideally, a Hunter with this engine? Or even better, a hunter 450cc but with a twin cylinder engine.....oh and at least a 15L tank
In m home Cambodia the hunter is enough. Just sometimes overtaking would love another 10 hp. I will have a tune up soon. New air filter and an injection adjustment should bring it up to 30 hp .
Enjoyed your video I had test ride on a speed 400 last weekend, had a test ride on the Guerrilla on Wednesday, I really liked it, do I ordered one in yellow ribbon, I found the speed 400 had a very snatchy throttle at low revs, it is a nice bike, but I preferred the Guerrilla, just waiting for delivery 😀
This is a lot of bike for the money. I like the design and position of the dash. Ditto the round headlight and flat tank with its offset filler. It's even got a nice, short exhaust. I'd prefer a Guerrilla to my KTM 390 Duke Mk2, although it would have to prove its reliability. However, I fancy a smaller bike as my second bike as I have an SCR950 as my big bike. Solution: sell the 390 and buy a new VanVan 200 as they are still available in Thailand. Excellent, thorough video. The best one of this bike on RU-vid.
At first I was disappointed it wasn't a 650 twin, but then I realized that's basically the Interceptor. I guess I'd love this modernized package with a more powerful and better sounding engine.
As an Enfield owner already this is interesting. I have a Pegasus 500, so basically a C5 classic in different trim. Have been in the market for a lightweight bike for a while, the Hunter 350 really appealed to me but after a test ride I found it underpowered. Then the Triumph Speed and Scram 400 were released and that was it, bought a Speed 400 without even test riding, because there weren't any test ride!! Actually was lucky to even find one in the blue, I had to go to a dealer 200 miles away and have it delivered! Anyway, I love it, it's great but I much prefer the instruments and fuel filler cap on that Guerilla, the Speeds clock is a bit of a mess ergonomically and missing a temp guage, and it doesn't have any nav function at all!!! Overall, I like the look of the Guerilla, colour schemes are a bit garish, and the engine is not quite as sweet looking as the Speed, but thats nitpicking. Enfield will sell loads of them!
Nice review, I agree it looks great. I'm a bit disappointed that it's only a 17" front wheel, the Scram411 was 19" the 400x and Caballero 500 are both 19" front so probably better fit the "Scrambler that Can" description for light green lanes. None of these are real trail bikes but that wheel size would make a difference, RE state this as a street bike, hopefully a genuine scrambler will appear later🤞. Like your enthusiasm for it, I think it's well deserved.
I think that this shouldn't be compared to a scrambler, since it has too little ground clearrance and road tires. That is why it does not compete with Trumph Scrambler 400x but with Triumph Speed 400. After that modification, the prices are not that far apart honestly.
I hear what you are saying and RE also refer to it as a roadster I know but those tyres just invite you to go green-laning and it isn't too dissimilar to the Scram411.
Great review and you were fair to the bike on build and looks wise the bike has its own charm, radiator on the Speed looks better integrated into the design. Don't mind the offset tank fillers as it works for filling up on the side stand. The offset clock is a wasted design opportunity for me centralise the ignition and fit a similar size display for navigation/ communication/ phone integration and option a decent size screen in front to reducevthe wind blast and it would really float my boat. Other positives where it beats the speed 400 centre stand chain on lhs and longer front mud guard ( too short on speed longer radiator gets covered in crap) and the two throttle map modes like that. So nearly perfect downsides want an easy 220 mile range for my commute to get 3 days between fills shorter service intervals and no dealer in my city. Could do with a bit more info on the gearing and revs at 60 & 70 mph for me it's competitor is the speed 400 not the scram.
Going to test ride one own a Hunter 350 and love it but a bit more poke is needed have rode the triumph speed 400 very well made bike but a little too revy for me have had a close look around the Guerrilla looks well but there are a few cheep parts letting it down like the gear and brake leavers and engine brackets so I would probably look to upgrade these items if I get one
The ability to mount a phone mount is probably the reason for thr offset. Also the tank, since it's going to maximise the contents of the tank when on its stand. I guess RE have thought of everything big or little.
it looks amazing and it's priced really well for what it looks like it delivers. is it the standard RE 3k miles service interval? also that fuel tank only being 11L is a bit disappointing, I would be hoping for at least 14 to give it a bit of range.
Great review. Can you do a direct comparison video between this and the Triumph 400x and give us your verdict on a winner? Many of the bike review channels don’t like to declare a winner and I think viewers find that kind of information very helpful.
love the bike and color all but the text in the paint if i buy one ill fix that mess of a paint job asap.Analog gauge cluster is a must LCD screens look cheap and are not needed in my world
Lovely test ride out. I personally find the colours a bit mish mash. The model you rode, black, yellow, with purple. Black tank, with purple RE lettering??? Should be yellow. In fact, do away with the purple tints. The brave blue is a lovely shade, again, a half measure. Front wheel rim is blue, and rear is black…..find that strange choice. Look forward to seeing in the flesh, as they always look better.😊 Will see if my 5 foot 4 height and 27 inch inside legs can actually touch the ground. Haven’t seen a list of available accessories as yet. Anyway lovely review. Does look a fun bike. Meteor 350, and rebel 500 owner😊
650 is defined as a cruiser. I know the difference between them, but that was not my question. But as soon its in the showroom i will check it out. I might wanne change my super meteor to the guerrilla.
I hear what you are saying and RE also refer toit as a roadster I know but those tyres just invite you to go green-laning and it isn't too dissimilar to the Scram411.
How is the distance between the footpeg and the gear shifter? I've had to change mine on my Classic 350 for a heal and toe shifter as the gap was about 5". This meant I couldn't get my boot under the lever to change up. Apart from that good review and very decent of you to bear in mind it's somebody else's bike that's not yet run in🤗
For all my English-speaking friends, to pronounce the word "guerrilla" more or less correctly, just change the double L to sound like the "J" in "jacket" in your pronunciation.
question max speed ,? from o tot 60 miles how match sec ? full contsuption ? and a lot of r oyal enfield have elekt problem ,see on you tube . wath about the 450 elekt ???
As the bike had done so little miles, hard to do a 0-60 at the moment, max speed also difficult for the same reason. These are not figures RE tend to publish as they are never anything to boast about but it is not the type of bike that riders are concerned about 0-60 or top speed, as long as it comfortably sits at 70mph...which it does.
I hear what you are saying and RE also refer to it as a roadster I know but those tyres just invite you to go green-laning and it isn't too dissimilar to the Scram411.
I'm not sure. I think it is a cool looking bike, who cares what the Ducati, BMW and Harley riders (not all, just the stereotypical ones)...the ZX10 and H2R peeps too I guess lol.
The Digital dash has me worried, what happens when it fails , electronic gremlins worry me. I realize that at 80 yrs I'm a bit of an old fart ,but a speedometer cable is cheap
I've got a Meteor 350. Got an intermittent fault. Which was apparent on the loan bike as well, so not impressed Wouldn't buy another enfield put it that way.
You are a Tipical key board warrior John slagging off someone's genuine experience with a make and model of bike that you personally probably know nothing about . As matter of fact the dealer in question has an excellent reputation that's why I bought the bike from them in the first place brand new I might add. And there are Enfield dealerships a lot closer to were I live, that's why I was happy to travel a lot further from were I live to get good customer service. If you're so clever, Why has two of the same model and year have the same problems, so why is that dealer related, When I took the bike back it shows no fault codes. And the dealer said until they actually experience the problem they can't fix it. As I said in my comment it's intermittent. You can ride it for an hour solid and won't do it. Then it will jerk few times you think it's going to break down but then runs absolutely fine. It might do it again on that ride or be ok the rest of ride. So how are they supposed to find the fault. I stand by my comment after having a problem with a brand I would not buy another one. Just to add I've been riding bikes some forty odd years, Owned all makes and models over the years, and this is the first brand of bike that I've owned that's got a fault but basically can't be fixed. So why would I buy another Enfield.
@@steveoswin6084 I phoned Hitchcock motorcycles spoke to one of their technicians he said could be a plug cap breaking down when hot or the coil so I’ve ordered both ,will give that a try , As a couple of years ago Enfield did have a faulty batch of coils that was a problem. Have fitted so much stuff to try to cure the problem. But reading posts on the internet I’m not the only one having this problem. People have fitted the fuel XPro that cured the jerking, I fitted that last year but I’m afraid for me the problem still exists.
I hear what you are saying and RE also refer to it as a roadster I know but those tyres just invite you to go green-laning and it isn't too dissimilar to the Scram411.
