After spending 20 years mostly on IL4 sportsbikes, I can honestly say that my 2 year stint with my CBR500R as a commuter was probably the most fun. OK, not having your R1 available the day before doing a track day meant that the 500 had to potter down the back straight at Bedford, but everywhere else, it was wide open throttle and peg scratching. It did remind of me of my first big big; my old ZXR250C. 110mph top end and all the cornering in the world. Would I buy another CBR500R? If it had 65bhp, I'd definitely have one. The ergonomics are spot on, but it's lacking the headroom, particularly if you've always had a thou in the garage for the past 15 years. Fun bike to hone your skills on and also embarrass big cc boys on bumpy b roads.
@@jaydanCBR I always see Americans complaining because obviously they don't have restrictions, but how's the torque? A lotta fun? I'm coming from a cbr250r. Looking to get black colour as well as I feel the red is ruined with the blue and white
as of rightnow this is THE bike im going to get when i get my a2, there is probably gonna be e newer model by then, but thanks for showing me it for now.
Fantastic bikes, I brought a 22 plate this year mainly because I preferred the graphics, sold my Harley sportster and made the move, absolutely love it, it’s a lot quicker than what I was expecting and the most comfortable bike I’ve ever owned! Ride safe all 🤘🏻
Brilliant video brotha! Im doing my direct access in a month and started looking for something to start out on, used to ride an rs125 in my younger days and this one seems pretty cool! At 27 insurance is absolutely diabolical for a big big, this one seems to be pretty good! Anyway yeah ur a natural behind that camera!
The best drestricted motorcycle for a beginner, in Europe and Australia. Is the CBR650R. Once you go through all the modifications you can push about 80 to 90 horsepower out of it, so I personally believe your incorrect in saying the 500 is the best. If you're argument is price to performance then probably you are correct. But honestly if you want the best you've got to be willing to spend, it's that simple. They are everywhere in Australia, new riders buy them and drestricted them on basically day one. This is if you are truly talking about the BEST.
@@jaydanCBR In Australia the 650 comes restricted on both the full faring and naked version, I apologise I was unaware. But realistically, could you restrict it? And then unrestrict it once you've got it passed, no one has to know lmao
Was thinking bout getting this bike, but idk if its got a lot of speed. I love the comfort, but idk if its suited for thr highway. What would you say was your top speed on this bike? great vid btw Edit: could you maybe link or name the mods you've gotten? Wanted to get the same exact mods
Top speed is 188 km...if you put a yoshimura a kn filter and flash the ecu it can reach about 200 kms top speed....trust me its more than enough....with 17 liters of tank it can do about 400 kms.....as a first bike its great
Depends on how fast you think you need to ride. Most of my riding here in the US is on secondary two lane highways where the speed limit is usually 40 to 55 mph and it's perfect for that. The will easily cruise at 75 mph on the bigger highways and still feels well planted at those speeds "unlike the 2023 Ninja 400 I owned and sold". Bike has reasonable torque up to 50-60 mph. I own 2 other bikes and this is one of my favorites plus a very good looking bike in the red color. Would be a great beginner bike or mid sized bike for old guys like L.
@@jaydanCBR is slow, torque doesn't matter when it weighs 50 pounds more than other bikes, if you think it has torque just imagine a ninja 500 that's about 50 pounds lighter.
@@jaydanCBR and no it doesn't have more gadgets than the ninja 500, nor is better looking is worst looking. Looks like a cow with horns with those decals.
