Alto asked us to hold of talking and selling this subwoofer til 10am 29 oct 2019. So we have Day one in Canada and in the US it should be at Guitar Center. Now or very soon (this week)
I cant thank you enough for these thorough reviews. I bought the tx208 last year on a whim. Finally decided to get some low end and your in depth knowledge and reviews led me to purchasing the tx212s. I absolutely could not be happier with it. This sub slaps hard. Thanks again for doing these top notch reviews.
@@stephentesta9106 2yrs later and it still meets all my expectations. I accidentally left it powered on for a solid 2 months or so with out use. It never missed a massive low end beat once I got back into it.
I use a 12" powered sub at weddings with great results. The Yorkville Parasource PS12p with great results. Also, keep in mind that weddings are NOT club environments. You're not trying to blast the whole room. You want enough power to blast the dance floor area and you leave the dance floor area, the volume needs to pull back to where conversations can happen with a certain amount of eaae. Your typical 12" can pull this off unless it's like a super large floor that holds 150-200 or more. And don't forget that older people generally can't handle the bottom ends as they may of dealt with them when they were younger. I've had many 65-80 year olds tell me that if the music, especially the bottom ends is on the loud side, it renders them essentially deaf and at a social situation like weddings, you'll want to ensure that you don't have a negative impact on the flow of conversation. So as much as it's tempting to just "rock" the joint like you would a nightclub, keep in mind that you're going to have guests from 3-93 present. For me, the biggest challenge of doing sound at wedding receptions isn't volume during the dance but having a good consistent coverage during the formal parts like Cocktails/Dinner and Speeches. That's when you will need your coverage. The last thing you want to hear is the emcee on the mic asking if anyone can hear him/her and instead of getting YES, you have a handful of people asking the person next to them if the emcee spoke in the first place. And Yes, we've all heard the comics in the room shout back NO a hundred times over the years.
I just picked up 2 subs and 2 208’s at guitar center for a New Years Day house party🤙🏼. Update: These are great 12" subs matched with the 208's. You can rock any small to medium size party with this setup. Ive tested the subs and tops to see how loud it could get before clipping. It was loud enough at 25' w/no clipping. I like to keep this mini set up in my Kia Soul along with my other gear just in case i want to liven up or create an instant party. Never know, you might just remind someone they have an event coming up and they need a DJ as I did at my New Years Day Party.
I purchased this for a home theater system.. because i wanted more power and bass for cheap.. yet with the flexibility to switch it out if i wanted to dj a backyard party.. this was overkill for both! Now for the looks in the home, i had about 15x35 in space, so i hind it between the twin sofas
Excellent Video...Could you please tell me if this would work with my Yamaha 600i PA System..The mixer has a single 1/4 inch Sub output. Would you then select Bypass or would that not make any difference, since you would not be using any outputs and only the one 1/4 inch input. Thanks
That was very informative sir, Alto TX212S that has highpass 100hz, do you think Turbosound Inspire iP300 with 90hz crossover can pair well them? I'm worried about the crossover interference/lag between 90hz iP300 n 100hz sub, any recomendations will help.
if you're outside the US then go with the TX212s, but if you are in the US go to Guitar Center for the Harbinger VS12 Great Priced Subwoofer for the Inspire iP300.
i'm thinking of getting two of those tx212s but running ts308 tops, would that be a good combo or not? could you make a video of that combination and to see how they would perform when mixing up the tx and ts tops.
I am a mobile DJ, using just two TX210 speakers. My gigs are weddings and birthdays in small community buildings, or outdoor small town festivals. My 2 speakers get the job done, but I interested in a subwoofer to deliver that extra punch on the dance floor, and to keep my Top speakers from flashing Red. I'm looking at this 12in sub. I'm looking for crystal clean sound and some bass to bring out those 90s hip hop songs to boost up dance floor a bit more. Will just one of this particular Subwoofer do the trick? I like to stay compactable, so all my gear can fit inside the back seat of my Chevy Colorado truck. That way all my gear is stays safe, secure, and not riding in truckbed when I travel from gig to gig. Any advice will be appreciated!
One TX212 Sub will sound great with the TX210's but 2 will be even better. I use the 2-TX208's or 2-TS308's for tops with a pair of TX212 Subs and its all the sound I need for the majority of gigs I do with up to 75 - 100 guest. The subs fill the space the tops cant. I have extra speakers for side fill if needed. And it all fits in my Kia Soul along with my flight case, flight stand or ADJ Event Table 2 plus lighting. I've owned the Alto TS212's tops since they came out about 5 years and they still work great. Good luck on your choice.
I have a Yamaha mixer and 2 active speakers ( 2000 watts). How can i hook them up? Mixer to subwoofer to speakers? Or mixer to speakers to subwoofer? Thank you
This sub or the Behringer EUROLIVE B1200D for a small group (75-100 people max)? I need a sub for our church youth group. We may also use the sub for an occasional movie night. We have a tight budget.
Hello friends how are you, can you guide me, if the setup that I want to put together is valid, 10"Tx210 speakers and the 12" tx212sub for closed places? It would be good
Hi, what is your thoughts of running 2 of the Alto TX212S subs under a pair of Bose L1 compact? I'm happy with the throw of the L1 compact but the low end is weak. It appears I can buy 2x tx212s for the same price as only 1 bose sub1.
Hey! How does the TX212s compare to the TS312s ? I bought the TX212s and just realize I could have twice the power with the TS series also in the 12" sizing. I will be using them for small DJ gigs (30-50 peoples)... The specs of the max spl is 126db vs 129db, is the loudness really that noticeable ? Thank you!
Trust me ! I made the same mistake, so I will save you a lot of disappointment and hard earned money, these are budget subs, too small and not enough power, 15" is the smallest you should be looking at, these together with 2 x 12" tops could maybe just handle 50 people in a small venue, beter to save up and get better subs, probably a good starting point would be 2 x the dB technologies sub 615d, there nice built, not too expensive and give enough sound out together with 2 of their tops for around 150 people, anything bellow this I would not touch, moving up from that to RCF, Ev is a good step up again, if you haven't got the money be patient and save up, DON'T waste your money at this level.
@@jibraelbasdeo3521 The db 615 are a nice box to start with at the budget end, personally I use RCF 905 mk2, an amazing powerful 15” sub, but they are more than twice as expensive as the db 615, they are light enough that I can lift them myself and not too big for transport, when buying subs you very much get what you pay for and buying cheap usually ends in disappointment, by the way I’m based in Europe.
So you're saying 2 of these subs and some good tops aren't enough to do a 150 ppl wedding with say 50 ppl on the dance floor? Technically the sound doesn't need to fill the room for the dance part, it just needs to sound amazing on the dance floor, these won't do that?
Good Question and comment, I will talk about this in my next Q&A video. It is not about Brand or the overall size of the hall, it is all about the dynamic dB level - Yes the combo of the TX212 + TX212S Sound great it will fall short at around 70 dB at the back with 50 people on a dance floor 24x24 feet about 80 dB in the front and 70 dB in the back. So 2 TS312 95dB (80dB in the Back) on top and if you like to surprise your guests with an extra bass drop when you play Old Town Road then add a TS318S. that always make everyone Happy.
Guys ,please know that this is a HOME THEATER SUB....this is not for a DJ/PA environment........Please don't look to BLAST ANYTHING especially at this price point.......Party at Home?? YES Wedding for 100 people?? NO!!!
