This is a full independent review of the Parkray Aspect 14 + the boiler version too. We test the stoves real world performance in:
Clean glass
Fuel economy
Ease of lighting
And controlling
I also give my views and a bit of background information. The videos are designed to be quick with only the "must know" information, they are independent and I'm not paid to make them.
If you would like any further information please feel free to drop me a comment or you check can out the manufacturers page here:

hi did you find the stone underneath gets to hot to tuch like he said, also can you damp it right down so you just get the gentle secondry burn licks of flame

15KW? I have a large Victorian house and my 4KW Burley happily heats the whole house.

Sounds like an amazingly insulated space or some very un-insulated walls to the neighbours 😆

That looks like a great stove, btw, managed to solve the smoke problem from before - its hard to tell exactly what the issue was but fitted a chimney extender of 30cm, also removed horizontal stove extension pipe into room - works fab now, very occasional bit of smoke but noticed you have this also, opening the door slowly 👌

Well done, glad you’ve found an answer!

Hi Gabrielle, when you did a review of a smaller Aspect a few years ago you were mildly critical of the control lever as most of the control it gave was in the last 20% of its travel. But on this version you were more positive. Just wondered if they are different or have perhaps Hunter stoves modified the design over the years to achieve a more linear control?
@TheTortoise
@TheTortoise 4 месяца назад
Yea, I think this one was better as it definitely didn’t shine out as an issue like it did on the 5.

This is a similar outpit to my parkray apart from the % it just falls short now

Rough price please? looks like just what I need. I'd put it on a concrete hearth to soak up the heat and radiate back into the room when it's done burning and I buy the log store and load it with rocks. great review.
@TheTortoise

The rocks sound like an amazing idea 😆

@@TheTortoise been living with minus 20 degrees most of the winter, it works. I use the same rocks that go in a sauna. By the way what's the max length of log you can put in this beast? cheers.
@TheTortoise
@TheTortoise 4 месяца назад
I’d guess it was half a meter, but physically it could probably fit bigger.

Excellent review. The specs say 10 cm to rear combustibles surely that can't be right for a beast like this?
@TheTortoise
@TheTortoise 4 месяца назад
Certainly sounds a bit mental, but it does have quite a good rear heat shield. The heat going out the sides, front, top and base was certainly significant.

Would you choose this over the Blithfield 8 ?
@TheTortoise
@TheTortoise 3 месяца назад
Well if I wanted the biggest output then yes, no doubt. The Blithfield is lovely, tough and functional, but definitely couldn’t compete with this from an output point of view. From a quality etc it’s obviously fantastic, so no issue from that point of view, it’s just their potential power that is quite different. (Worth knowing that a lot of quoted outputs are manipulated to support a particular marketing strategy. Make no mistake the Aspect 14 is a significantly more powerful stove than the Blithfield 8)

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply , measuring up I think sadly I’m going to struggle with the depth of the Parkray .

Try the ST.REMO 16kw.....83% efficiency. Got 2 before the EU ban
@TheTortoise
@TheTortoise 4 месяца назад
Interesting. Why would they ban them? That efficiency is well above the minimums for the EU?

@@TheTortoise Have to be Ecodesign i believe and companies not stocking the bigger stoves. Got 2 x 16 kw for 500 euro each. Tremendous heat in old georgian house
@TheTortoise
@TheTortoise 4 месяца назад
Yea that’s the strange thing. Eco-Design generally has a minimum efficiency of 75%. I realise there is more to the story than that, but given how efficient they are, I would expect them to pass the test with ease. Either way, saved you some money and still burns very clean, so sounds like a great find.
