The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem is a British royal order of chivalry dedicated to St John the Baptist and founded in 1888 by Queen Victoria. The order is active in 44 countries, providing first aid, healthcare and support services to people in need. One of its main projects is the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem, which treats eye diseases and prevents blindness in the region.
On Saturday, June 24, 2023, the order held its annual investiture ceremony, where new members were admitted and existing members were promoted. The ceremony was presided by Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, who is the Grand Prior of the order. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was held virtually and live-streamed on RU-vid for the public to watch.
