FSD (Supervised) can drive you almost anywhere, including these common & complex scenarios. FSD (Supervised) requires that the driver pay attention to the road and be prepared to take over. Schedule your Demo Drive - www.tesla.com/...
Not yet. Legally you are still driving as you are supervising the process. However, it will drive a lot better than a drunk person, so you may have a lower chance of killing some innocent people or getting pulled over. So there's that.
Yeah I just finished my 30 day trial of FSD and while it is decent, it still struggles a LOT. So much in fact that I can never truly relax. The other day it stopped right in the middle of a turn and just sat there so I took over because If i hadn't, accident waiting to happen. It needs a LOT more work and it is NOT Self-driving in the truest sense of the word. It struggles on highways as well, failing to drive naturally and follow cars at normal distances. Is it worth 8K? No. Is it worth 99 for the month if you're doing a road trip? Hell YES.
Totally agree. My car tried to stop on the freeway because it didn’t understand how the exit worked and missed the exit but was still navigated to take the exit. Had to take over real quick! 😅
@@kenzo_1172 Why? It's literally just an autonomous robot on wheels. They don't need to be humanoid. Add a chatbot with voice I/O and you've got K.I.T.T.
@@macemoneta I know, but its just funny to realise that, like how all things now are computers, even microwaves are computers. Almost nothing is not a computer in this age.
Driving from CA to MO with FSD was very relaxing. We would never consider road trips this long without it. Also, being able to take in the view during the drive is a huge plus.
@logitech4873 Watch the RU-vidr called AI Drivr He makes videos about FSD. There are some crazy situations where FSD stop and doesnt know how to go on but its very rare.
Prepare to be unimpressed by FSD. It isn’t as good with the newer hardware yet, but the Y is an amazing car. Their prices are crazy cheap when you fully understand what all you get. The car app is worth the FSD price alone.
I commute 40 miles per day with my Model 3 just like this through 2 busy towns with traffic circles, hands resting in my lap. Cracks me up when people think their car with "lane assist" is doing the same thing. "Well my (insert other brand name here) can do that." No, no it can't.
Jesus Christ. I have now words for you other than that you're ignorant to both other cars and your own cars real world capabilities. It's still a driver's assist at the end of the day. If you think otherwise you are a danger to everyone around you and yourself.
@@NickAndTech This is the reason I didn't buy FSD. I had the 30 day trial and it's so frustrating having to engage the car every minute or so. Same thing goes for autopilot. What's the point if you still have to intervene so much? It ended up just being so annoying that I didn't buy it. The annoying sounds and beeps it makes drive me nuts. I think once they get rid of that I'll buy it.
People who buy this types of cars, sometimes I wonder where they work, because I've been a doctor for more than 8 years and I have still not gotten my dream car.
Hahahaha😄😄😄😄😄 Of course this type of cars are not meant for salary earners because salary job is just like modern slavery. You work for 8 years and you couldn't buy a car
Of course this type of cars are not meant for salary earners because salary job is just like modern slavery. You work for 8 years and you couldn't buy a car while some people are just investing little coin in the stock market and they're making millions of dollars.
Check the most richest men in the world, they're all entrepreneurs, no salary earner can be successful. Any salary earner who claims to buy this car must have loot the company's money in one way or the other. 🤪
@@anon1972sa8a it's the people who own the car that you should be listening to because they're the primary ones who could lose their lives if this feature is not as good nor as safe as they say it is.
I recently rented a 2017 tesla model s 100d and was excited to test out the FSD supervised, but I had to keep my hand on the wheel the entire time. What's up with that? I was looking for the experience I see in this video.
@@ShawnOlinyk 2017 yeah 😂 that's first generation try a 2022 or 2024 better cameras better CPU better screen this is like saying my first computer 🖥️ is just as good as the ones from today 😉 joke right 😂, our plaid model s 2022 is much faster 1.9 sec 0-60 that 100D is not even close...
It's really quite amazing. I use it most of the time. I still have to watch out for a few things it doesn't handle and a few intersections it has trouble with, so it certainly does require supervision.
@@geirmyrvagnes8718 Right, hence they do software improvements and updates OTA. Nothing can be 100% perfect. Considering still this is a Level 2 FSD not Level 3, this FSD can potentially cause an accident to anyone hence it's "supervised"
Imagine a reverse smart summon. Tell the vehicle to go park, OR keep circling until you're ready if in an area with a lot of parking restrictions / paid parking. Then having smart summon distance increased to pick you up when desired. "Smart Valet"
This is already available today via Actually Smart Summon (ASS). Your Tesla can drop you off at the sidewalk, go find a spot, and park. Then come pick you back up at the sidewalk when you return. Check out videos on RU-vid.
It would be great initially but I can imagine the total traffic nightmare this would cause if everyone would be having their car circling around the block
Imagine all the lives saved if people could get on proper public transport. Imagine all the decreased noise pollution if fewer cars would drive. Imagine all the less dust that gets kicked up by tires. Imagine all the money savings for not having to repair miles of road
@@peppi0304 G'day- just have a few comments on your remarks, feel free to engage how you want. "Imagine all the decreased noise pollution if fewer cars would drive." - Electric vehicles are actually VERY quiet- to the point that there is legislation for them to have 'fake noise' added back in. "Imagine all the less dust that gets kicked up by tires." - We don't ride horses on dirt roads anymore, maybe this was sarcasm? "Imagine all the money savings for not having to repair miles of road" - And you suggest the answer is to have more fuller heavier vehicles like buses? I see where this 100% makes sense but also its nowhere near as big of a deal as other things. I'm not against EV's but I stand 100% for public transport. From saftey improvements, to actual speed improvements (yes if implemented correctly) to climate sustainability and even to being cheaper for everyday commuters- public transport is what distruinguishes current cities to modern ones. One of the biggest issue facing public transport is the "norms"- its kind of a paradox- people say PT sucks (it does) -> people don't use it -> gets less funding -> it sucks -> loop. I have alot to say on the topic, but nonethelessI HAD to comment on your reply, just simply because it made half-nonesense in context of this video/OP comment. Thank you have an amazing day.
What this doesn’t show is that you still have to have your hands on the wheel and if you take your eyes off the road (camera tracking you) then it suddenly turns off and gives you a strike. 3 strikes and it bans you from using it.
Thanks Tesla for the 1 month free trial of FSD supervised on my Model X and Model Y. It blew my mind! So fun to see how far it has come since 2018 when our Model X couldn't even lane keep without "ping-ponging" the lane lines. First impressions on our first few drives with FSD Supervised was like WOW this is 99% there! It's going to be a "march of 9's" for Tesla now. After about 10 drives in increasing tough conditions though my assessment dropped to eh, maybe more like 85-90% there which is still massively impressive. Congrats to the AI team. I'm now a believer that some day soon Tesla's FSD will be safer than humans.
I used it quite a bit during the month free trial and It was absolutely amazing what it can do but I had to disengage it at least every 5 minutes because it would drive 10 mi/hr faster than it should in a small residential area or it would want to hit a curb on a roundabout. It was really amazing what it could do around pedestrians; being slow and safe and left turns were also incredible, but there's just so many little things that make it seem like it's not ready yet.
@@lawrencemcclammy4686 & so you guys has been saying ever since 2. - 3. release. The automation that kills you isn't the one that fails 1: 10 but the one that fails 1: 100.000 will get you eventually.
@ChipMIK i want to agree, but fsd is only getting better with time, and statistically, the odds of serious accidents happening on your average vehicle are rather unsettling. i wish trains were more practical around here...
@@LuneLuan At least they added "Supervised" to the title. I dont see why you would expect FSD to be any safer as you still has to supervise it and in more serious accidents your reflexes will surely break FSD efforts to avoid collisions but for minor incidents make you relax as you gain confidence over time that FSD is working in a trustful way. Then when it fails (which it will as no amount of AI can cover any situation) you get caught completely off guard and here comes trouble then as you have about 0 situational awareness = The day 1:100.000 gets you.
its definitely getting better. I wouldn't say its less stressful than actually driving yourself. yet. I do like it for long farm country drives, but for some reason, while approaching a stop sign at 90kph - it waits and applies quite a bit of brake pedal (not just regen) rather than regen to a nice smooth stop. its like it can't see it far enough, yet the stop sign is on the map...
@@geirmyrvagnes8718 Very common in farm country. Single lane, straight low traffic highways that go 5-10km between stops. If you want an example, look at streetview at: 89184 County Rd 30, Gorrie, Ontario. They frequently put little rumble strips before the stop sign to wake people up to the fact that they need to stop before they blow through a 2 or 4 way stop at 100kph.
I love FSD on my 2020 Model X but you’ve got to fix the acceleration and braking. The car accelerates too fast and has a habit of braking late and hard.
Elon can only say if tesla will be ready for fsd in europe, but can't say when and if fsd will come in europe because is the european law that have to say that
At least once it does release in your area it will be a capable software. It has been a bumpy ride to get to this point and it is still not quite there
excuse me, but this is not your channel!! because in the RU-vid community you have original photos of the authors!! Bring back the channel, the author of this channel is named:Vasylisa!! It's not your channel!!
For me it was actually pretty awful. I used it quite a bit and I would have to disengage it about every 5 minutes. It was trying to go on curbs and going way too fast in residential areas. I really hope it gets better but it convinced me that it was not ready yet.
@@URsooomad8613Yeah, my daily commute, drive to gym, and bumper to bumper weekend adventures are all also staged as well. Maybe a test drive would be good for your mental health. Might be a wake-up call that you live in an angry little world for no reason.
@@URsooomad8613 Pre Planned route? WHAT. Are you living under a rock? There are plenty of FSD testers who can show you this is real. lmao the earth is flat right.
I use Full Self-Driving (FSD) about 90% of the time and love it-not out of laziness, but because I believe in the potential for more precise driving. While FSD isn’t perfect, especially when dealing with natural disasters, animals, or unpredictable pedestrians, it’s a step toward reducing human error. However, the current FSD Highway functionality often falls short. It frequently fails to keep right and improperly tries to pass on the right, which is against the rules. If it followed the simple rule of always keeping right except to pass, and avoided cutting off faster traffic when passing on the left, it would perform much better on the highway. It should not act like a bad driver as most of American roads are filled with them...
Love it. When will this become available in Australia and other RHD markets? We have a Model Y with FSD but fairly limited capabilities compared to what is featured in this video.

Is roundabouts finally working? Ill have to test this out. Other than that it does do all this very well. Been a fun experience to see this go from stopping at yellow flashing lights to pulling off the turnpike to go to a restaurant without intervention
I bought it with my Tesla Model Y and I'm still waiting for it in France... Come on Tesla, it's about time to release FSD in Europe and moreover in France !!!! Thanks.
The problem with Waymo is more expensive hardware and it's limited to pre-mapped spaces and can't handle changes very well. I haven't followed their progress for a while so I might be wrong, but I think Tesla is way ahead..
Full Self-Driving is such a misnomer it should be challenged in court. If it's Full Self-Driving, I want to sit in the back seat, drunk and asleep the whole way home.
Took a demo driver yesterday in a model Y. FSD was nothing short of incredible. You're right, if you haven't experienced it you can't even imagine how good it is. By the time I'm ready for a new car (lease up in two years) FSD will be the top priority, no question.
Mr. Musk, South Korean TESLA owners paid for FSD but are still waiting with no timeline in sight. It's frustrating to see the US enjoying this feature while we’re left in the dark. Please bring FSD to South Korea soon.
Mr. Musk, TESLA owners in South Korea paid for FSD but still can't use it. While the US enjoys this feature, we are left waiting indefinitely. Please address this disparity and provide a timeline for FSD in South Korea.
Dear Mr. Musk, Despite having paid for FSD in South Korea, we remain unable to access this feature with no clear timeline provided. It is disheartening to see it available in the US while we wait indefinitely. We kindly request a prompt update and timeline for its release in South Korea. Thank you.
I bought a model y last week and I finally dared to test the auto pilot trial yesterday. It was perfect for 10 minutes and then it got confused on the traffic lights which was red to straight and green to right turn. It was supposed to make a right turn but it waited until the light turned red and ran the red light. It was a busy intersection and it scared me a lot. I dont think its 100% ready to use in a city traffic.
