First off, AMAZING that you can acquire that much in just 3 months. Took me years to get where you are now. The fact that you can source so much variety locally is equally as stunning. I would just caution you from buying on craigslist. You should invest in a precious metals verifier so you can authenticate nondestructively or at the very least get a CCT coin slide for your silver pieces. Well done.

I have just about sucked the local market dry where I am and now will be looking to place orders online. Any suggestions would be great - i.e. apmex vs jmbullion vs provident, dos and donts of receiving shipments, etc. Secondly I have only picked up the philharmonics, 1 gold eagle and some random stuff from craigslist because I am afraid of the scams. I take a picture of drivers license when buying and then go straight to the local coin shop for verification. Found that if someone is unwilling to let you take a pic of drivers license it was a fake. A guy had 5 perth mint 1 oz gold bars that were so so good, but were a fake. you could tell because he was super uneasy and they were too thick to be 1oz, had to be plated. You just never know! Support your local coin shops so online retailers have competition and you have a local resource. My local coin shop has been invaluable in education, sourcing and deals. We do have some unethical local coin shops as well. Been standing in a coin shop watching them undercut sellers and overhype people to buy certain products for dumb premiums.

Just buy little at a time bud. Eventually it adds up I'm 19 and completed my 1oz gold. Feels good. We also need money to invest in ourselves at young ages but I can't wait to move onto silver
I'm coming up on a year of stacking this time, had to sell original first stack, currently sitting at about 85oz silver and .3 oz. Gold. Nothing wrong with slowly adding over time and I'm happy to see younger men wisely investing their money, I'm 31 and I thought I was a young stacker lol

I say keep stacking as long as it's affordable. That is one hell of a stack for someone like me. Stack, Stack, STACK away! check into different storage areas and storage in different ways. People will take your shit if at all possible. Multi places is what I hear is best,... so if........ you'll not lose everything. Awesome stack!
That's a great stack. Congrats. My input... You've done well buying Sovereign silver coins from various countries. You've covered that. Small denomination gold is covered. I'd recommend small denomination in bar form instead of coins. I'd recommend the 50g Valcambi Combi bars. Gets you 50 individual grams of gold you can break apart. That one purchase covers your small denomination gold bars. Looks like you've covered 10oz silver bars. Perfect. I wouldn't buy anything larger than that. All you'd need in silver to complete your collection is "junk silver"... It's anything but junk. You should laser focus on dimes, quarters and halves. Get the bag of them or by the roll. If you want a collector item, buy uncirculated 1964 Kennedy halves in both business class and proof. The proof will be expensive, but they'll be very handy for reasons I won't get into. Well done, keep it moving. Just giving you my honest advice because you asked.

I buy a few ounces weekly and have been doing it since the end of 2013. I have given a lot of silver and a bit of gold away, or I would be over 1000 ounces in silver and over 10 ounces in gold. I consider everything I've given away as part of the family stack. Great stack!!
Impressed with your progress in 3 months. I've been stacking for nearly 3 years. Some of it with high premiums if you want to buy them now, especially the Queen's Beast series. Sadly these high premiums are not regarded when offered back to the supplier.
No, the red mark on the nugget is not a test. Its a little spot of silver, which came with the dust in the mint in the minting-process. Its pressed on the surface. And what does silver? It's reacting and getting a patina. Its very thin and the gold shine through, so it seems red. Put the coin in Thiourea and the red spot will fade away. But only for a couple of months. This red spots are well known, espacially in Germany on 100 Euro Collecting-Coins.

It depends on what your reasons are for stacking. But a general rule of thumb is STAY AWAY from federally minted coins they are based greatly upon appeal and rarity. I made this mistake myself just to realize that the ACTUAL melt value of the coin is worth 50% less than I paid for it. Also it may be graded differently by every single person you send it to in order to grade it. So silver/ gold bars/ rounds and junk I would say is your safest bet! Awesome video

I do collect 1/10 gold coins because I believe in diversifying and for affordability in my case. I am also new to stacking and have about 4 oz gold and 150 oz silver. I also collect junk silver for potential barter with the state of the world. I just love being well rounded and have some numismatics too. You can't go wrong no matter what. It is MONEY; not currency. Have FUN is the key!
The Queens Beast do pretty well if your willing to sit on them for a few years. I usually buy 50 a time and then sell to expand my collection when the price goes up.
Great video and presentation. Loved the variety of silver and gold bullion and the only thing I would add is graded collector coins from PCGS or NGC. Saint Gaudens would be great place to start cause they are well recognize and well collected so you will never have a problem selling them. These coins tend to go up over time irregardless whether gold goes up or down.
Damn. I have a 6 figure income and only have 163oz of silver and 1oz gold in 1 year. Didnt use my savings though. Just buying 10-20oz of silver every 2 weeks.. holding cash for a stock market correction too.

Congratulations on the large stack, considering the short period it took for you to put it together. From the diversity of your stack, it seems like you are thinking to sell back to collectors - as long as you are comfortable with this and aware of how this process will work, then you have a strategy that can work for you. As for us, our stack is starting to focus on bullion, mostly 1 oz and 100g gold coins/bars. This is because our selling strategy is simply to go to our local bullion dealer and we anticipate we will get spot price or a few dollars below spot. Fractional gold pieces are bought at a large discount by bullion dealers, as I experienced earlier, when I sold a few pieces to help out a friend who needed some help with her rent. Our stacks are a bit different - our stack is mostly gold, as it is a bit easier to store and prices are relatively more stable. You need to understand that Silver Slacker's stack is diversified not just in terms of his silver stack but a larger portfolio - we are both rental property investors. The properties provide monthly rental income, while the gold for us helps to privately store our wealth. There is no one strategy for everybody - you must choose your strategy that best fits your circumstances. Wishing you continued prosperity and success my friend. Cheers!

Appreciate all of the advice as well. 1100 oz of my stack are eagles, philharmonics, maples and bars that I could walk into coin shop and flip at .50 cents under spot to 1.00 over spot. My semi-numi coins I do intend to hold for about 10 -15 years and sell back on ebay hopefully for a decent gain. My gold stack is something I actually really enjoy collecting. Why I wanted to spend so much locally at coin shop is to generate relationships where owners know that I am a serious buyer... this has gained me a 5%-15% discount locally when buying. I also have them guarantee me in writing they will buy back my 1/10 oz gold at 100% pot if I were to ever sell. Dropping a few thousand or more a month to a local dealer gains you some advantages you wont find online. But it takes time, drive time, talk time, etc. And yes this gold silver stack is about 35% of my portfolio, with another 35% in stocks and roth ira, and 30% in two rental properties.
LOL... That is a pretty kick ass arrangement to get buyback price in writing... And that looks like a pretty diversified portfolio to me. I worry sometimes that a lot of YT stackers plunk in money in precious metals ONLY... That has advantages, as well as disadvantages... You look like you are well on your way to wealth... Looks like you're enjoying your hobby. AND you're not expecting our government to crash, I don't know if that's a good or bad way to think. You're getting into fractional gold coins which most don't recommend but they make great gifts and I've found they get family interested in the hobby and saving. The best thing is diversification they say. It's no fun sitting there watching paper dollars lose there value. As long as you are having fun.
Awesome stack!!! No tax state is a real advantage. I stopped buying locally because of tax. I have dealt with Apmex and they did really good by me. As far as your question goes if you do not want the value to be dependent upon spot price you may want to look at numismatic value. The general rule is the less coins that were minted the more valuable they will be. You will want to frequent things like estate sales and auctions. Know your stuff and buy low. Fantastic job brother!!!

Nice job for only 3 months! Be careful on Craigs list and ebay, buy from a reputable dealer and avoid potential fakes. Pandas are very collectable, I like coins not bullion. They are worth the premium. I recently bought some Canadian maple leafs, they have a face value of $5 Canadian. Try spending bullion at the local store, the clerk will look at you like you're an alien. I do have a small amount of bullion, 30 oz was a gift from my supplier for referals. So free bullion is good. Gold is much more portable, so I look at each metal as having different functions, silver is for day to day trading. Gold you save to buy a house.
Very nice collection. Great deals. I just started this year as well, but nowhere near this great stack. I love, love, love the Pandas. Just made a video on my beginning panda collection. I think they are my favorites. Those Gold Pandas are excellent.
If you're interested in looking for graded coins, you might want to pick up some graded 69-70 coins and a 10x+ jeweler's loupe. Compare these to your coins to get an idea of the difference. Also, try to get your coins in mint-sealed packaging of 20 rounds. When handling bare collectable rounds, wear cotton gloves and handle the coins by the edges only to avoid micro-scratches on the face. Also, the first-line of protecting your stack is to keep quiet about it.
Valcambi Combibars are good because you can break them down. Also gold Maplegrams in packs of 25 x1 gram. Also, I hope you don’t tell anyone you have this. Not healthy!
Very nice stack but pandas have a yearly mintage of 3-5 million. Not saying that they are bad coins but for silver that may go up in value the Perth mint has some great stuff. Silver is silver and however you want to do it go for it.
