What she is saying is so true. I was at the airport and a lady had a child who had some challenges. She could not control. He started running around the airport and screaming. Me and and a stranger jumped right in to assist. We did not care who each was voting for who or each others beliefs. Someone needed help and we work together to calm the situation. She has seen income inequality. She didn't say she was experiencing it now. She experienced real poverty as a child and was not paid what her male counterparts were at the beginning of her career. She is definitely not representative of what happens to most people. But conventions have never been open mike nights. They get people to speak who others listen to. Oprah has long been very reluctant to get into politics. The fact she is speaking at the DNC shows how important she believes the upcoming election will be, and how important it is that we all do something.

Her speech was vague on policy except where she mentioned ending a pregnancy. She later mentioned the importance of the Constitution yet federal law on that issue was violating state's rights which makes it a tyrannical law. Seems like she supports tyranny not freedom.

I think it's great that Oprah made this very substantial speech, a gift in service to the public, so well written and delivered (as were others I've seen by Michelle Obama, Hilary Clinton and even AOC).

Read up on her life man, she grew up wearing potato sack dresses in the 60s raised by a single mom who worked as a maid. I think she has some idea of what a hard life is like. To say she's lost touch may be true, I have no idea since I don't know or follow her, but she started lower than most and rose to the top. I thought we respected that here in America, not just scoffed at it because of political differences. Like the lady said, decency and respect.
