I can't help it... "Sacrificial" is just so damn iconic. Has to be in my top video game tracks of all time. Each time you start on Basement 1 in the original Flash. Goosebumps...

DannyB really understands what video game music is supposed to be. It's nostalgic but original. Every song fits perfectly with the game. Plus, his music actually has themes and layering and complexity. Not a big fan of the Rebirth soundtrack, it's mostly ambient noise. I oughta break a broom handle off in Ed's ass for letting DannyB get away.

I prefer Rebirths game-play to the original, but the original's soundtrack is so much better, that's why I got the mod that changes the music back to the original

youre half right.. DannyB is talented, and his Isaac soundtrack worked well but his Super Meat Boy soundtrack is just random music compared to the new soundtrack by Ridiculon.. which showed just how much room SMB's soundtrack had to improve to 'fit' the game better. dannyB is talented but not perfect by any means.

If you think about it, this game is really sad. I mean, it's like a saw movie. Issac has to mutilate himself to survive, and pretty much always ends up dead.

Still gives me chills. Came back to celebrate repentance. 36:04 Greed is so underrated. Each riff in this track is so slick. Fittingly showy. 42:02 Apostate slowly drowns you with waves of existential dread. 1:02:15 Almost forgot about this gem. A sense of reflection, determination and closure. Not to mention 5:56 Sacrificial, a monumental masterpiece.

I dont like the new one, unbelivable, that there is no Danny B. music in anymore....very sad, i can not enjoy it, like i did in the first isaac game. Very very very sad.....

ThuglifeWTF I have a good news. I don't want to tell too early, but I think I can change the soundtrack. I found a tool that can extract the .a files from resources. I did it. All the music files are OGGs, nothing special. There is no packer program I think, so I was worried. There is a music.xml file in config.a which contains which music file should be played at different part of the game. And also there is a path in that like _/resources/music_ So I made a music folder in resources (where the packed folder is). I placed all the OGGs there, removed the music.a file and now it reads the OGGs from the unpacked resources/music folder! I have the original Isaac OST, I converted the music to OGG, replace one music file from the original to the new game, I named it as it is in the music.xml and now, the game plays that music! I replaced the basement music, now it plays the old one. The looping is not perfect, it needs some editing (or better rip it from the flash version). So it can be done, I think!

Link "A": www.sendspace.com/file/zff0c4 Link "B": www.mediafire.com/download/stlesuzdua0sean/boir_dannyb_stereo_versions.rar (I re-uploaded it, maybe it's faster, sendspace was pretty slow for me) Just extract the ogg files into The Binding of Isaac - Rebirth esources\music folder (you need to create music folder, it doesn't exist). If it'll still play the original music, rename the music.a file or remove it from resources\packed. I recommend the renaming so you won't lose it. Enjoy!

(includes optional devil deal music from both games) "2014-12-20 Robfank HQ music + Nee_Bagwell's 9 music files, in 1 Zip. Rather than clicking through 10 individual files at a limited 1 download at a time, here is a link to get all of the best music versions in 1 zip file. It was annoying to me to do it, so I'm saving others the trouble by doing it myself, rather than requesting it to be done. The zipped file has a "music" folder and if you just unzip nothing but the "music" folder, you will have both of these combined and be done. If you want to mess around or read readme's/etc, feel free, but it isn't needed."

Lol yeah. After a ton of ragequits I stopped playing for a few months. So I started again, finally was able to clear one of the bosses,,,, new unlock: 'It all got worse!' or something similar... THE GAME JUST GOT HARDER... are you fucking kidding me? :p

Haha atm I find it not so hard anymore, at all - I clear the full game with cathedral chest like, 99% of the time. What a little (well, a lot) of practice will do. Next. dark souls. See how that goes haha.

Apostate gives me chills. It is so gruesome, visceral. I dont know how to explain it. When you first enter the womb/uterus and all that red bloody gory walls added up with this theme, man. It doesn't only feels scary, it gives me this creepy "beeing utterly alone" feels, helplessness. For sure it is the soundtrack of the worst bad trips... I just love so wuch this piece of art made by Danny Baranowsky.

Danny Baranowsky makes some of THE best soundtracks for games. If not for the music, there's no way i would've had the motivation, the anger and the fuel to keep going through Super Meat Boy. In my Eyes, Danny is (currently) the GOD of 2D Indie Video Game Music.

the thing with it is that the main exploring bits are slow and often follow with music, but fighting one of the mini bosses or any boss for that matter the music just seems to follow along really well and kick up massively. oh and my favs are just about the same as yours :) 'Innermost Apocalypse, Divine combat etc.

I just started this game up not too long ago, hoping to clear Challenge 9. And I was pretty damn close too, I was on Mom's Heart and the gauge was barely even there. There were two Maw's with their mouths sewed shut chasing me, and I had only 1/2 a heart left. I fled from the closest Maw... and got hit by a bomb fired by Mom's Heart. And after that, I more or less ragequit. But at least I got pretty close to clearing it.

WayTooFR35H I have about 50 hours on Rebirth, I've beaten IT LIVES! 16 times, and I haven't beaten Satan or Mega-Satan yet. I've listened to most of Rebirth's soundtrack, and there's only a few songs that I actually enjoy. Don't say things before even considering the possibility of the commenter being more experienced than you think.

It's a really similar sound, but the overarching melody (the high pitch sound) is the recurring binding of isaac theme.
