Might have recently been withdrawn and possibly scrapped but I really don’t know, so don’t quote me on that yet It’s been difficult to find out what Red Rose have changed lately beside 2 Evoluton/Darts being purchased from Halton Transport and W408 UGM being very recently preserved
Chiltern Transport Productions I know what you mean! It’s a shame nobody’s gone to preserve Y359LCK (50521) or this one because they’ve got rarer seen bodies and they seem to be way more mental motors! It’ll be a big loss if these die, they could really give the B7L a run for its money!
Don’t worry about the 2 Spryte cans, they’re the only Euro 2 Darts staying long term! In fact, they’ll be receiving a special repaint into the original Red Rose livery to celebrate their 20 year anniversary, since Red Rose bought them brand new 😉 The other Euro 2s were all ex London cast offs. And who gives a shit about the Euro 3s?
Unfortunately though, it’s quite likely all the Red Rose ALX200s will be scrapped. But Red Eagle have at least 1, maybe 2, so those could stay but I don’t think either of those are ex Connex. Both ex Stagecoach I believe I don’t know what’s going on with Redline or Red Eagle, haven’t heard many changes for them but I know Red Rose are binning most of their Euro 2s except the Spryte cans they bought new. And that 2 Evo Darts have been bought from Halton Transport

@@edwardbdart I prefer the 73 but yes, 16 is also a good rural mystery tour Somehow I managed 50521 on the 275 of all routes! I still require 50520 though, want it on the 55 ideally
Wonderful bus don’t know why they withdraw these fantastic buses. It’s brother Y238 FJN Was Withdrawn and scrapped due to a fire sadly. Would love to ride one of those!
A multitude of reasons. Chassis rot we can’t see, parts hard to find as no longer manufactured, so it’s hard and expensive to fix issues they develop later on (sometimes costs more than their value). They’re too old for their liking, they think newer buses will make them look better to their customers as that’s what they think they prefer. Some examples aren’t particularly reliable either. Some have even just become tired, barely able to do their jobs because they’ve been used and abused so much And they were Euro 2, which in the eyes of councils and non enthusiast public is bad for the environment. Newer buses like E200s are also cleaner as well since they’re Euro 4 or 5

I’m not sure what exact buses are regulars on the 16 but I can confirm almost all workings on the route are Euro 2 Darts There are a few Enviro 200 workings but the only ones I’ve seen them do is Waddesdon and Westcott shorts, not full 16s to Steeple Claydon and extended runs to Marsh Gibbon
I don’t know for sure what routes all the ALX200/Darts do. One or 2 may do the 73 between Chesham/Ley Hill and Coleshill but otherwise your best chance of finding them is on the 16 in Aylesbury
That’s too bad. This was a nippy little thing unlike one of the ex Stagecoach ALX200s that couldn’t exceed 45 and struggled up hills. Connex set up their vehicles well
