Cheers! It was tired anyway, so it would have been scrapped at a similar time regardless. Couldn’t even exceed 45 and struggled with the slopes around Coleshill unlike Y842 TGH which didn’t have such issues. See that video for yourself as you see fit I’m not sure what’s up with Y358-359 LCK since I don’t follow bus news much anymore and don’t contact the insiders I used to know. 359 I’ve done on 275 but I still need 358, would like that on the 16, 40, 55, 60, 275 or anything with 50mph thrash but I guess I could make do with 50 if I must because it might be alright on the 40 limits, it just won’t be quite as good that’s all

@@ChilternTransportProductions Yeah I remember the chassis rot, and burnt down but that’s it otherwise. I will check Y842 So at the moment (now) Y358 LCK it’s tax has expired and the whole bus is filled with boxes. And Y359 LCK as you might know has had the Heritage livery, and is back on road, I even have my own dead run on my channel! 👍🏻

@@shiresbusveg No it doesn’t have a heritage livery, it looks nothing like it did when it was new. What they’ve done is adapted both the normal and school version Red Rose liveries to celebrate 30 years of Red Rose Travel in operation The actual “heritage” livery it was new with had a black skirt and dash, it looked like this: flic.kr/p/eaUAWC

There’s better ones out there - this one struggles to hit 50 and has NO POWER up hills. But it does sound good though AT545 is nice but a tad too quiet for my liking. Could be a little louder. It is how my nostalgia filter remembers it after all!

It sure is! Although I think you meant *sight* Unfortunately I don’t know what routes they normally do. I can only go by what I’ve had so far: 50518 (8006/DA16) on the 16 and 50527 (34238/SLD238) on the 73. And I guess on rare occasion, they can cover Omnitowns on 60 and E200s on 275 but like I said, it is rare. Now that 55 has been taken over from Redline, maybe that too

I think the 16 is currently mostly ex Abellio W reg. I know they’re still in service with Red Rose after 20 years and the 16 easily maxes out Darts (even better than the 73) but 73 is easier to do because all you have to do is go to Amersham and do the Coleshill loop via Penn Street and Coleshill The thing about the 16 is it has several variations and there’s only two runs (one in each way) that avoid Quainton and Westcott for the most, continuous amount of thrash, so you’ll need to enquire with the timetable about that

Definitely do the 16 and 73 for the Darts, and 60 for Omnitowns. Don’t forget the timetables are infrequent and awkwardly timed but tight as fuck, so generally hellfire!

I wouldn’t say any 4 cylinder E200 never mind one with 3-speed Voith gearboxes are good buses….

2159 is definitely a better bus, I agree. I wish it would be used on the 41 and 48 rather than wasted on Wycombe town crap - it’s practically ideal for them when most other buses used are too big for them, and it’s the closest Arriva will get to the Red Rose rural mystery tours I love doing

I also think 2159 is too small for most Wycombe routes, and the 30 should only be reserved for the worst of their heaps because it’s such a bad route

@Chiltern Transport Productions I have spotted 2159 on 41 and 48 on bustimes once or twice before, but yeah definitely wish it did them more regularly.

That’s pretty rare then, if 2159 escapes any of the Wycombe towns Most common tends to be 30, then 32. Sometimes 31, maybe 37 but even the 33 is rare (despite being allocated Darts years ago) because 33 workings are Shitlite substitutions. And there is no chance in hell it will ever do the 1/1A, 300/X30 or 800/850
